Great food. Excellent service. Placed a catering order for party side dishes. Not only did owner make sure to have my order hot and ready, the portions were very generous. This is my FAVORITE restaurant ...and I am pretty picky with Mexican food because I grew up where it is always authentic. First off, the environment is amazing- adorable, fun, CLEAN, and very family-friendly. The menu is HUGE with very affordable options. They have unlimited free chips & salsa, which also happen to be the BEST I have had. They aren't stingy either... as soon as your chip basket is low they are refilling it immediately! My cup has never been empty either. I love the staff, they have fun (free!!) birthday celebrations and also include a free sopapilla dessert with every meal. This is by far the best family-owned restaurant in the Willamette Valley! read more

We've been going to San Antonio for years, and this place never disappoints. When it first opened, I thought it didn't have a chance because not only was the location was one where several other restaurants failed, but it was literally within a stone's throw of the most popular Mexican restaurant in town (Los Dos). But the food is great as is the service -- one of the specific reasons I go there is because I like to see the owner and the staff. I suspect one reviewer was disappointed with the food because she expected it to be a particular way, and not all dishes are prepared the same way in all regions. My own opinion is that carne asada, taquitos, flautas, and fish tacos are the best things on the menu, though I like everything I've had. If you like margaritas, definitely spring for the Cadillac. It tastes far better than the house margarita but be forewarned that the octane level is no joke. read more

What a great restaurant! Had chicken taquitos with guacamole, and it was delicious. And a Cadillac Margarita, which let me tell you, was perfect. They did not scrimp on the tequila and both my entree and drink were so reasonably priced. Really nice to find a great place for Mexican food in this area and find they also make killer margaritas. "San Antonio's" is by far the best Mexican restaurant in the Monmouth / Independence area. Their clean and spacious dinning area is comfortable and well decorated. The menu offers a good variety of the common and the uncommon. My favorites include "Chilie Rellenos" and "Fajita Salad," The "special" of the day brings down the price of a full regular meal which includes rice and beans. The complimentary warm chips and salsa are fabulous, both regular and extra spicy! However, the drinks are regular and the tortillas are not home-made. On Sunday they offer a Brunch Buffett which includes fresh omlettes made with ingredients of your' choosing. Sunday evenings from 5:00 pm untill 7:00 pm you can enjoy the fun music of "Romantico!" table-side! This is a great dinning experience for families, couples or groups.
