T H E W O R S T I set up a pickup for 3:30 a.m the night prior to an early morning flight with my family and they called to confirm within about 10 minutes. Note that I used a taxi service instead of Uber because I wanted to be sure there wasn't a hitch in a 5:00 am flight. At 3:10 am they called to tell me that they were "unable to find a driver with a van'. No other offer to help or speculation on when a driver would be available. I suspect they use contract drivers or even Uber themselves. I ended up calling Uber, got a large car in 10 minutes and arrived at the airport on time. What kind of taxi service can't find a car? I've been using taxi's for 30 years and have never seen this. read more

I have to first say I've tried this service many times and it was my preferred Taxi company. But after the events today I will no longer continue service with SA Taxi. I made a appointment at 2pm for 3:30pm the Taxi Driver calls at 3:05pm and said to me he will be there in a few minutes. I then reply the appointment was for 3:30. He replys well I will be there soon waiting outside whether you like it or not. And starts ranting til he hangs up. I call the dispatch they said they will talk to the manager then hang up on me. Normally places put you on hold. Dispatch calls back 15 mins later. They Ask me if I called him back. I told them no I thought you were going to. They told me they do not have the ability to get his number. I dispatcher I didn't feel comfortable to call him back after his demeanor. But that I would be happy to give them his cell phone number and I was told they are not allowed to call them. And that they will transfer me to a Manager. So, okay I ended up ringing that number many times til it went to voicemail. I called back to cancel they said okay and told me how they will do corrective action. They didn't know who the driver was. So not sure how they would do that.... That very taxi pulls up to my house 10 mins later and stays there for a few mins calls my phone and leaves. They didn't even cancel the Taxi for me. And I still needed a ride to work. Ugh what a day. read more

Called them for a ride on New Year's Eve from the Tower of Americas to the Menger Hotel. Then called them 40 minutes later to see if they could give me an estimate on arrival time - they refused but said they would "re-announce". I took that to be a codeword for "we forgot about you." 30 minutes later, we flagged down a Yellow Cab. Unless you like sitting and waiting, avoid this cab company. read more

Extremely terrible customer service. Called and places my order for a cab. 45 minutes passed and still no cab, I called back and they said my cab would be there in 5 minutes, 20 minutes later I called back and they used another excuse.. They claimed my gate code did not work, so I walked about a mile down the road to use try my gate code. The cab driver never called to tell me this. I had to call and learn about this over the phone with the representative... I got to the gate and entered the exact code I gave them.... It worked perfectly. I then jumped in the cab only to have to go back to the house and pick up the rest of my party. Can driver started the meter when I jumped in to head back to my original spot and gather my friends. I will never use this cab service again, I was disappointed with them on the phone and the representative who answered the phone must have thought it was a game. She didn't seem to take me waiting over an hour for a cab very serious. NEVER AGAIN! read more

Omg if I know they were going to charge me more than double than uber for a guy who couldn't find his way out of a box I would have never called them. They never quoted me a price and the guy kept asking me where to go even though he had navigation that showed him exactly where to go. This airport taxi is a rip off. DO NOT use!! Our bags were late so we took a standby taxi from the airport instead of an Uber or Lift to grab a bite while they were shipped in the next flight. We took a 3 minute ride to a nearby restaurant. It was a $5 fare we were charged $11.75. The driver gave us no hint and were told it was a fare ride until we got to the destination and were charged double. I called the taxi service who told us to complain to the city of San Antonio. This makes no sense when we can get very affordable ride share prices. Take an Uber/Lift and Don't be fooled like us!!!!! read more

I came across San Antonio taxis through our very hospitable valet Aaron at hotel Valencia. He called Adel to come pick us up and this gentleman was fantastic! He's truly a great man, very hospitable and knowledgeable. I didn't have any experience with the taxicab service itself, but I've always said that employees are a direct reflection upon them and Adel exceeded my expectations. If you're in town visiting San Antonio and you need a cab, ask for Adel and you will not be disappointed. read more

Worst ever. Avoid like the plague. Scheduled pick up on line 36 hours before, and felt good about phone confirmation that they would call 40 minutes before pick up. We didnt hear from them on AM of pick up so we called 30 minutes before pick up and they said not to worry, taxi on the way. Five minutes after time of pick up, we called again and said they would check where their driver is and have the driver tell us where he was on route. No call, we called again 10 minutes after pick up time and she said driver said he called us and "we said it was too early" so he did not come. He obviously did not reach us, this was totally false. Our phone records reveal no such call at all. Dispatcher said she could get another cab to us in 15 minutes, but time to catch plane running out, so we were forced to take our car immediately and park in airport at high price for duration of time away, the reason to take taxi to begin with. I phoned and left message for manager to call me back repeatedly during the following 24 hours, but no call back read more

I would rather walk next time than use this company! I would give negative if I could. I needed ride from airport to my office within a couple of miles. I told the driver where I was going and he seemed frustrated because it was close. He even started off the ride by honking at some person getting out of car and cursing because they were parked on left side of street getting luggage in their car. I should have known. I wish I would wrote his name down or license plate to worn everyone else. Just remember he wore a cowboy hat and was Texas proud by everything in car with some camera on windshield and big laptop in front. (disclaimer I am from Texas also ) The ride was quiet after I told him where to go and when he went on highway I just asked him to exit next exit in case he didn't know where to go. He then snapped at me stating "Who is the cab driver? Do you think I don't know where or what I am doing? You People are all the same?!" Wow, now I am half white and half caucasian so I don't know if he was being a racist or a bigot. He kept on his rant for several minutes until end of trip and I even asked "Are you Serious?" and kept going. He then stated I bet you are staying here when we were close and I told him no it was the next entrance but let me out of your car as I would rather walk the rest of way. He then didn't turn off meter where it went from $6 and some change to almost $9 and took my credit card and asked "Just the minimum?!"Hell yes, I ain't tipping you! But he didn't let me hold his phone to sign or view total and he did that before he gave me phone with signature and told me to use my finger not showing me the balance. He said not to hold his phone because it would turn off ....suspicous . I then check my bank statement right after thinking something was fishy and it was $15. Extremely rude. Very poor service. Driver spent the entire trip cursing under his breath because I didn't need to go very far from the airport which meant it wasn't a big fare. Had #498 (Silver Nissan Rogue) cut me off, tonight, on 281 @ Mountain Lodge because he or she missed their turn, then he or she proceeded to weave through traffic, make a couple of Cal-stops, and when I called to complain they hung up, as usual. I scheduled a pickup online and when they didn't come after 10 minutes past the scheduled pickup time, I called and they said, "We've never heard of the company so we didn't go and we're not coming." UM. WTF. They didn't bother to call or email that they weren't coming or to get clarification or SOMETHING. When someone calls for a cab, THEY NEED A CAB. Would give zero stars if I could. Made an online reservation for a ride to the airport. Returned call to confirm the day before. When the time for pick-up came, I called. The person who answered the phone said my name was in the system, but no one was on the way. I asked him to tell me if someone could be here immediately, or I would call another service. I submitted an email request for a cab to the airport. I also requested confirmation by email to ensure it was received. Did not receive confirmation, so I called their number a couple hours later. I was told that they ONLY contact by phone. I had explained in the notes that I have an international phone number, so please contact me by email. She told me that unless I could provide a local phone number, they wouldn't work with me (um, then why a REQUIRED field on the form for my email address?). Fine by me. It's about a $55 fare for them, and I usually tip $10 on top of that. I'm sure someone else will want my money. Wish I had seen these reviews first; I wouldn't have bothered. Don't use this taxi cab co. We had a 430 am reservation to get to airport for an international flight during spring break! Taxi didn't show up. Called the main number starting at 425 am to inquire about taxi whereabouts. Was told twice 5 mins away!!! If it wasn't for UBER we would have missed our flight. read more

I stayed at the Crockett hotel and asked them to get me a taxi to the airport. The taxi comes to get me, and when I get to the airport the driver tells me if I use a credit card, there is a $4.50 surcharge. I asked him where it said that and he said I should have asked before . This is a huge disappointment and one of several things that occurred to me over the weekend that makes me think I should tell my friends to avoid this city because it is becoming a tourist trap where you are nickeled and dimed on items that are part of the costs in other major cities. read more

This is the worst taxi company ever! I didn't have my car yesterday because I rode in the ambulance to the hospital with my husband who had suffered a heart attack. At 5:00 am after 6 hours in the ER, my husband was stabilized & admitted. At that time, I called this taxi company for a ride home so I could pick up my car and return to the hospital. The dispatcher told me I would be picked up in 15-20 minutes. Well, 45 minutes later and no taxi. One hour later and still no cab. I called the office number several times but they never answered my calls. I was already tired and distraught after my husband's medical emergency and this company did not even have the decency to answer any of my calls. They could have just told me they would not be able to provide a cab. No, they wasted an hour of my time. Terrible and rude customer service! How can you even stay in business? DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. We called and reserved a taxi 2 days in advance. The day that they were supposed to pick us up and take us to the airport the driver does not show up. We call them and they say that the person who answered the phone forgot to save the request. They tell us that they will send us another taxi. An hour passes by and we call the taxi service again. Nobody answers the phone. We missed our flight and had to reschedule. We had to call yellow cab to take us to the airport. read more

I called SA taxi on Monday at 4:47 PM and scheduled a pickup the following morning at 4:45 AM. I was traveling out that day from the San Antonio airport to Portland for business. 4:45 AM came and no taxi. So I called the dispatch and asked where the driver was. He put me on hold and then came back to tell me the order had been sent out earlier and that he was having trouble contacting the driver. So I had to wake a friend who then rushed me to the airport for a 6:30 AM departure. Later on in the day I tried to talk to a manger and they would not talk with me. I left my number for them to call me. The dispatch person told me they were looking into the matter. I am still waiting for a reply and explanation. I decided to try this service and from my experience will never use them ever again or will my colleagues. If it were not for my airline status I would have incurred excess fees associated with a missed flight and delay in getting to my final destination. I was fooled by their fancy website and wanted to give them a try. Obviously they have a total disregard for people. People put a lot of trust and count on their service to get from one place to another. My day would have been a disaster if I had not had a friend close by. Beware!! Use SA TAXI at your own risk! We called the cab service for a pickup at the AT&T Center after a hockey game on a Saturday night. The dispatcher told me it would be about 15 minutes. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, I called to inquire where our cab was-the dispatcher did not know. She then said it would be another 20 minutes. Since it was cold out, we called Yellow Cab who arrived in 10 minutes. So I'd love to offer a review on the service but I suspect we would still be waiting for San Antonio Taxi. read more

The first taxi that came to pick me up told me he would call wheb he arrived. 20 minutes later, I call my cab driver and he let someone else steal the cab from us. Terrible company. I went online to schedule a very early morning pickup to go to the airport. I then called in to confirm the appointment and they confirmed the appointment with me. No one showed up. When I tried to call (4:45AM) NO ONE ANSWERED THE PHONE - I tried for 10 minutes. We loaded up the car, made a mad dash to the airport, and had to pay for parking at a cost of $110. When I tried to follow up with the company they said they were never able to call me to confirm the appointment - even though I called THEM to confirm! Never trust this company - they will tell you they have you covered and then lie about everything after that. I don't know how bad business people can stay in business. read more

I use this service often only because it shows up faster than yellowcab. However every time I do not watch the drivers like a hawk they will always somehow take a wrong turn or miss a turn resulting in the trip costing more than it should. This is not me over exaggerating this has happened at least 4 times in the past month alone with multiple drivers, and it was a very obvious major street, not a little street that's hard to see or anything. My advice, if you must use them make damn sure you know exactly where you are going and watch where they are driving or you'll end up paying waay more than you should. I point blank would not recommend them to anyone who doesn't know the streets and directions themselves, they'll take the longest possible route that wastes your time and costs you extra money. Also they do not discount the fare when they do this. And another experience I'd like to share, I had to go pick up some paper records from my dentist but was short on time so I called a cab, it's about a 8 minute drive from where I live, I planned to get there run in grab the papers and run back out, it's a small office I would only have the cab waiting for literally about 35 seconds. So after I call the cab and it shows up and AFTER I'm in and we're driving I tell the driver where we are going and that we will be coming straight back. This driver then tells me he has something to do and can they please drop me off then go do their thing and come pick me up after. All I could think was NO! (which I said politely) and explained that even round trip this trip wasn't going to take long. Why did this person take my call if they had somewhere to be so soon? Why did they tell me after I was already in the car and moving? And on top of that they purposely missed a turn (during rush hour traffic) and my trip ended up taking too long and too much of my money, no they didn't discount it, and the entire way this person kept trying to make me feel bad and trying to guilt trip me for inconveniencing them! read more

From the moment I sat down in the taxi, the taxi driver yelled at me. The reason...I was going to a hotel close to the airport. He said he had been waiting 3 hours for a fare and he finally gets one and its one that is such a short distance. I told him that the hotel said they would pay for the taxi and he tried to tell me he does not accept third party payment. He did nothing but bitch the whole short distance. When we arrived at the hotel and I got out of the car, he said...no tip! Really, he did nothing but make my arrival into San Antonio a real hell. Here's a tip...be nice to the people who come to visit this fine city. Please, city of San Antonio, if they have a license, revoke it.
