Where do I begin. Very disappointing Visited for Cinco De Mayo Lunch, was excited to have great food. I ordered the "al a carte" burrito (I wanted carne asada but they only had ground beef). I asked what the difference was between the regular lunch "beef" burrito and the al a carte version. Was told the lunch version was a plate with beans and rice on the side. I decided to get the al a carte version as we already had a bowl of chips and salsa and beans on the table. My wife ordered the "No. 17" special and asked for shredded beef as the protein. OMG - when my burrito arrived it was just a tortilla with ground beef inside - no beans, rice, salsa or lettuce - WTH. To make matters worse, the ground beef was extra ground - as in size of gains of sand like a puree. My wife was generous in sharing the rice off her plate and I scooped up refried beans from the complementary chips and dip bowl. My wife was quiet about her meal and didn't share with me if she was liking her "No. 17" special. When the check came, they over charged for the "No. 17", was listed at $10 on the board, but they charged $12. My wife said don't get it fixed - as the service was good. I complied. Then after we left and I was still complaining to her how bad my "ground beef - extra fine" burrito was that was missing beans and rice and salsa. She then told me her No. 17 was not shredded beef as she ordered but the same extra fine "ground beef" that I had the misfortune to eat. Lesson learned - I will not be returning to this place Absolutely horrible food. read more

Went here for lunch with a friend. Location is in a shopping center. We were greeted and seated right away. The salsa is good, I asked for a spicer option and was given habanero sauce which had good flavor and wasn't too spicy. I liked that you got complimentary beans/coleslaw with the chips and salsa to start. Service was good, food came out about 15 minutes after ordering. I got the lunch chicken fajitas and my friend got an enchilada with rice and beans. Food was good (average) and had plenty of leftovers from the fajitas. I still miss El Ranchito's in LO. This has become one of our favorite dinner spots. The service is always very friendly. The restaurant is casual and is kept nicely clean. There's a back patio seating area with heaters that's comfy even on a cloudy day. The food is always great. We haven't ordered anything that we haven't enjoyed here. No, just no. Save the money and go elsewhere. Went there with my kids and one of my kiddos got food poisoning at the restaurant before we even left. I ordered the cheese enchiladas and the cheese inside the tortillas was not even melted. The texture looks like the cheap cheese that cannot melt. The food was bland and tasteless. It is also extremely overpriced for what you get. Sad to say that I recommend a trip to Taco Bell over this place. When it comes to the service, everyone was really friendly. In my experience going here this place says it's good days and it has its bad days. It's not always the greatest food but it's a nice friendly atmosphere. The food is OK but the servers are very friendly and so is management. It's not my first choice but if I need Mexican food, this a close option when I'm in West Linn. read more

If you're craving spicy, flavorful Mexican food, go somewhere else. -Chips and salsa were terrible - chips tasted store-bought and salsa was not good- no spice at all. -I ordered the 3 enchiladas plate (various types). The food was bland, no spice. I asked for some spicier salsa, and was given a ketchup squeeze bottle filled with some mystery salsa. Some presentation. I asked what type it was, and the waitress said, "careful señor.. it's so so spicy". It was not. When I was waiting for my check, 3 different people told the waitress similar things, praising the restaurant, along the lines of "so glad you opened here, The food is amazing". I've had better Mexican food at a food truck. Finally, the price. Too steep for a restaurant located in a storefront, and given the quality of the experience and food. read more

We've gone to San Blas a few times of the years. Yesterday we went for an early dinner with our two daughters, including a one year old. The bar tender/server was so amazingly kind. He brought her some fresh pineapple and cut up oranges, which is far beyond any restaurant we've ever taken our children too. They all also stopped and talked to her and I found that to be a very nice surprise. The food is good and plentiful. Prices are probably similar to most restaurants these days. I'd definitely go again, especially for the customer service. read more

I've been coming here from the very beginning, but wanted to give them a good six months to find their footing. My first couple of visits were during their growing pains stage and I didn't want to over penalize them while they were still figuring things out. I'm still only so-so on the place and haven't found any Mexican restaurants in West Linn that I'd recommend. So consider this A-OK rating my 'best of the bunch' in this area. The best thing I've ordered? The Molcajete. Chips and salsa, margaritas, enchiladas in mole sauce, fish tacos with tilapia. Nothing else is memorable. It is pretty run-of-the-mill Americanized Mexican fare. Personally, I find the seating areas to be odd. Split in two, there is a bar side and restaurant side. On every visit, I've been offered seating in the bar with the kids because this place is constantly packed on Friday and Saturday nights. I actually prefer sitting there to the restaurant side since the restaurant side feels like a long hallway. Service was fine on our most recent visit, but there were issues on all prior visits. Not that I have Mexican cravings that often, but when they strike, my thoughts turn to my favorite places in Wilsonville and Woodburn. Turns out San Blas is part of the Ixtapa Mexican restaurant chain with several locations in the southwest metro area. My son always call this place "San-blah" by mistake. He isn't far off. read more

100% phenomenal!!! We almost didn't go because of the ratings on here but hot darn I'm glad we went! The food was AMAZING. 10/10 as good as my mom-in-law makes and she's the best cook I know. The service was flawless and overall there wasn't a single negative thing about our visit. My husband and I kept marveling over how we don't understand how such an awesome place has less than five stars. I got the San Blas enchiladas and my husband got the San Blas burrito. Not the best, not the worst. The staff isn't very warm or welcoming. The last time we went in at 9pm the guy behind the bar mentioned that they were closing in an hour... ok, fine! In 30 minutes he again said "we are closing in 15 min"... what? You just said an hour? Now it's changed? This place is hardly open its listed/advertised hours. Again, last night we were gonna stop by for a drink on the bar side, posted hours say 11pm, and around 9pm on a Saturday, closed. The beer mugs are super cold and frosty so I give them credit for that. They also have good Margs. The food is ok. Wish I could say it was better especially being in our neighborhood. A few tweaks and making the customer feel welcome would go a long way. read more

This restaurant is a real hub of activity. I ordered my food "TO-GO" so can't really speak to their service, although they were polite and efficient in my order pick-up. The food was just so-so, the biggest negative being that it was NOT hot. I live within 5 minutes of the restaurant so it's not that it got cold on my way home. The food was in a metal tray so it wasn't an option to microwave it. My meal was a chimichanga, chili relleno, beans and rice--all mediocre, at best. I do think it all would have been more palatable had it been hot! read more

For a local Mexican place, San Blas is usually a reasonable choice. The restaurant space definitely has a schizophrenic dimension, with the tables in the "restaurant area" separated from the more open bar area. Many families choose to sit in the bar area, probably because there are televisions broadcasting sports events. When you sit down, you are given a bowl of chips, a rather average salsa, and a plate with repollo (cole slaw) and a refried bean dip. In the past two years, I have not experienced the service issues mentioned by other reviewers, but I almost almost always sit in the bar, Put a Negra Modelo in front of me and I'm good for a while. I do feel when they first opened, service was often not very good. Things have improved. Portions are decent, prices what you'd expect in SW suburbia. Recommendations: Well , I like the mole enchiladas, chicken enchiladas (ask for the tomatillo or green sauce), and the wonderful chile relleno - Mexican style. Insider hint: the huarache on the "Comienzos" menu is a delicious meal for one -- and half price at Happy Hour. Second insider hint: ask for some Tapatio salsa on the side and spice up the house salsa and/or other items. read more

I ordered a house margarita and there was a bug in it. I kindly ask for another and quietly let her know there was a bug in it. She took it and poured it into another glass. When I saw the bug again I told her I wanted another one and she said "Oh it's just the glass" and I told her "no, it's a bug" and she said "it's probably just the lime" she brought me another margarita and it was not good, tasted like straight lemons. We asked for cheese dip. It wasn't cheese dip (which isn't an issue, just not any cheese dip that I'm used to) once the food came I had high hopes that it would make up for the earlier events and I was not impressed at all. Delicious food! AMAZING service! We recently moved here from Ohio, and quite frankly, were hesitant to try this place based on the Yelp ratings. Against our better judgment, we did it try it (because sometimes Yelp leads you astray)....So glad we did! A round of Cadillac Margaritas, I had the seafood chimichanga, spouse had some sort of enchiladas wonder (enchiladas bandera?), daughter had kids burrito, and son had grilled cheese. I'm in walking distance with this restaurant and it is a great and convenient place to go and have a nice dinner. The service time fluctuates depending on the time of day and the time of week, but it is usually about a 5-10 minute wait after you order if you're having dinner at around 6-7pm. It has a good atmosphere and isn't too stuffy. It has air conditioning on hot days and is off during cold days. The staff are extremely kind and friendly. The restaurant is also the only Mexican restaurant on the top of the hill in West Linn that has a lot of business throughout the day. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you're passing through town and need a quick meal to go or to have a nice family dinner. read more

We have eaten here a few times. It is not bad, but not somewhere I would take someone to impress them on eating great Mexican food. We come here because it is so close to home for us. The house Margaritas are fine, not very strong, but that could be a good thing if you drink a couple and jump behind the wheel. I had the Huevos Rancheros before and they were good. The other meals we had were just ok. I do like that they serve the chips and salsa with a plate of refried beans to dip into. Staff is always friendly when we are here. They usually have sports on in the bar area, where there are also dining tables. We will come back, and have expectations that the meal will be ok. We have lived in the West linn area for 8 years have enjoyed many of the fine restaurants here in the area. I have now patronized the business three times and the food is always undercooked as far as the meat the manager older gentleman with gray hair is absolutely just rude as they come the food has went downhill completely from what the regulars say. I would highly recommend not going there and as someone who is in the customer service business working for UPS I cannot believe the way that guy talks to people. Definitely better places in West linn to go to. I highly recommend la fiesta kitchen as the food is always fresh and the staff is always friendly. I don't even think they deserve one star I only gave it to them because the only thing they have going is that they are a half a mile away from my house however at this point they could be right next door and I still will not go back. read more
