Just tried the birria cheese quesadilla at La Marquesa last night and WOW... it was sooo good The smell when you walk in alone is enough to make you hungry instantly. I live for Mexican food and have been to every restaurant and food cart under the sun in Portland and have not found 1 spot that delivers the kind of caliber of Mexican food I've experienced in Southern California --- until today --- all the way in lake Oswego. Stand out food and very friendly and attentive service. Lengua tacos - perfectly cooked fall apart lengua and the portions are generous! Rice and beans - at last a place that knows how to season their rice and make some cheesy creamy beans!!! Chile relleno burrito - so much flavor! They did right by the humble poblano pepper and actually took the time to roast it - and you can tell - the smoky sweet poblano flavor really comes through and the breading around it even though it's sandwiched in a burrito layered with cheese and rice stays perfectly in tact. This burrito is a stand out. Guacamole - perfect. You can tell there's no filler it's all avocado, tomatoes and lime. Complimentary Salsas- deep and rich smoky salsas, zingy and tangy avocado line salsas - these salsas pack so much depth of flavor - you'd never expect this caliber of salsa from something housed in a squirt bottle. Flan - oh yes, come hither. Reach and creamy with a lot of body and just the right level of sweetness. If you love Mexican food and have had your heart broken by the mediocre meh-ish food options around the metro area - come here !!! read more

Nestled in the heart of downtown Lake Oswego was this wonderful family and their team kicks out amazing Mexican. The other night, our dinner party decided on tacos and guacamole and I called at 4 PM and asked if there's anyway I can get 48 tacos by 5:30, let's do it was their answer. As I stepped into the restaurant, there was a line to order food. They could've told me no because the dinner crowd would've kept them plenty busy, but they accommodated us.. The best part of the experience was the food, generous portion, quality ingredients and amazing salsas. read more

This place has really great, decently priced and authentic Mexican food! I've been here multiple times already and always stop by when in the area..This time I got the Carnitas enchiladas which comes with 2 sides (I got double rice!) and it was only $14!! The enchiladas were very large and was enough for two meals so very worth it! The carnitas were cooked very well and were juicy and the rice was also very tasty and seasoned very well. Service was also great, I believe they are family owned and the employees are all very friendly. Ambiance was alright, it was a bit loud from the kitchen, since the restaurant isn't very big and there isn't much seating usually available, so I usually take it to go! I don't believe they have a website, so I usually call to place an order, and that always goes smoothly :)) read more

I went here last summer and it was packed! I ordered a Burrito Loco (3 meats) and it was...fine. For how high the ratings were I just kinda underwhelmed. Maybe the combination of different meats is just too much. Ok- so it's been nearly 7 months since my last visit. I need some calories because it was a brutal leg day, followed by 12-3-30 after. I needed some gains, mane! I scanned the menu and decided to try the Burrito El Jefe. The lady said the Al pastor is a better choice than carne asada, which is fine, cuz I got a place already for that. Ok- so this thing , combined with the 3 sauces they offer, is totally off the chain. It goes to show, try different items before you judge or review a place. Some things are superior than others. The al pastor is straight fire! It's a damn good size burrito. THICC. I was sleeping on the menu item list and was pleasantly surprised to find a cheesey chile relleno inside. It's like Feliz Navidad all over again less than 2 months into the new year. Dayum, this is hearty AND tasty! I couldn't even finish this thing....Now I have 4-5 bites for later. Woo Hoo! Lady at the counter was a sweetheart, friendly and gracious. Yooo, LO is low key burrito fire. We got Marquesa downtown , Casa De Pollo on the west side and OG Birreria is about to open this year ?! Who would have thought that one of Portland Metro's best Mexican spots is located in Lake Oswego. The Milanesa Torta was excellent. Crunchy bread, thin cut non-chewy beef, all veggies mix well, and ample size. Two of the breakfast burritos include french fries, a game changer. Eggs are soft the way I like 'em, the cheese is gooey. They offer the standard green and red salsas, but the flavor is a cut above. They also have a Habanero which packs some heat. The place is tiny, I recommend NOT visiting during weekday lunch hour. The parking lot can be a free for all zoo with all the big worker vehicles. So happy to have my husband introduce me to this small local Taqueria. Convenient, friendly and excellent food. Everything is made AFTER you place your order and it's fresh! Unfortunately Or fortunately this taqueria is located a few doors down from our gym, which makes it easy to stop on on those nights we don't feel like cooking. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. While small in size, there are a few seats to eat in, but it seems like most (often us too) order to go. The food is excellent! While it's been hard to find local taquerias of good quality - we found one here! FINALLY! Hooray. The tacos, burritos and nachos are all excellent choices (based on our orders to date). We have not been disappointed in anything. Absolutely we will continue to frequent this small restaurant without hesitation. Recommendation: stop in and get your Mexican food fix!! read more

this is by far the best authentic Mexican restaurant around. from the delicious food to the sweetest people that work there. the menu has something for everyone. I am sensitive to dairy and do not eat meat, so I order the vegan burrito bowl and it is DELICIOUS. Been here over 30+ times over the past few months, I'm a regular Their Taco Salad w/ Carnitas is so consistently good. Burritos are also amazing. I eat everything with their Green sauce. It's so good! I usually come here after PT, so sometimes I'll get their coconut juice to fill up on potassium. It's always refreshing if you like coconut juice. So glad we finally tried this eatery! Best counter served Mexican food we've had in Oregon. We've liked everything we've had here: chicken quesadilla, carne asada torta, breakfast burrito, tacos, fajita burrito, rice & beans. Portions are usually large enough for another meal. Best Tacos I've had the privilege to enjoy ! Tacqueria La Marquesa is located in a non- descript strip mall (of all places) in Lake Oswego, OR. Restaurant is small and seats (perhaps) a dozen customers. Tasty Tacos prepared with care. Service was attentive (the server: restaurant lead) made sure we had fresh salsas on the table right before the food was served. Hallelujah I found taco heaven. This was my first time dining here. Honestly, when I find a place of this caliber I always ponder whether I should tell the truth about how delicious it is because I do not want the establishment to become over crowded. However, I am a true yelper and the people need to know. This restaurant had been sitting in my collection on Yelp for some time. Today I came across it and pulled the trigger. My father and I were stoked. We got an assortment of tacos. Some of the offerings were the tilapia fish tacos, carne asada tacos and the shredded chicken tacos. Every taco was more delicious then the last. The rice and beans were possibly the best I have ever had. All of the veggies were fresh. Most of all it was affordable. The place itself was not large. There was roughly four tables in the dining area with seating and maybe another four chairs near the cashier where you order. The women who took our order was fast and kind. Came with refried beans and rice all for $12, a great value. Small spot, walk in, order at the counter and there are a few tables where you seat yourself. I thought I would be happy with the food here based solely on the aromas coming through the door as I entered. Yum! This is a walk up location in a strip mall in Lake Oswego. It was a chilly day and a couple of hours after lunch time so the place was empty. It's the type of place that doesn't do table service but does have tables that you sit at if you don't want to do take out. I ordered the chili relleno plate which consists of one chili relleno, beans, and rice. Everything was really flavorful, nice textures, and DELICIOUS! I am always in search of a good chili relleno and this one is actually one of the best I've had in the Portland area. I will definitely be back to try the other items on the menu. That said, time and time again, the company removes really great things from the menu, and doesn't replace them with something equitable and it's a bit of a bummer. First for me, the chicken sandwich with the peppers and the aardvark sauce - it was there for the first several years we lived in Oregon, I got it without a bun and it was amazing! It wasn't a seasonal item, just an awesome one! Now, just a plain chicken sandwich that was in the menu before. Then, the cowboy and chicken sliders - we went into get lunch - the cowboy sliders are my husbands absolute favorite and I love the chicken ones. Gone! And no more sweet potato fries. We couldn't land on anything we wanted to order so we left. Let me say I LOVE the local flair and the seasonal items - but it has been such a bummer to see great items come off the menu. Potentially we are the odd ones out and they didn't sell well, and then for that I guess I say fine lol. But man! Eventually, after more than half an hour with nothing received, we requested a refund. While the restaurant refunded the food charges, they did not refund the tip. That was unacceptable. Not only was our time wasted, but we were essentially charged for service we never received. What made the situation worse was the lack of customer service. The manager's response felt dismissive, and there was no genuine apology or effort to make things right. A brief "sorry about that" at the end came across as an afterthought rather than sincere concern. It's now nearly a week later, and I still have not received a refund for the tip. Person in charge said they cannot refund my tip from the store but it must be corporate. Wrote a little note on my receipt, put it in the drawer and said they will submit a request. I left feeling completely ripped off and unvalued as a customer. The impression I got was that because this location is in Bridgeport and likely has plenty of business, losing a customer simply didn't matter. Mistakes happen, especially during busy periods. What matters is how they're handled. Unfortunately, this experience was handled poorly.

The other ingredients were solid as well...the cheese was smooth, the sauce was perfectly balanced and the small pepperonis had just a little more spice to them (we got (1) pepperoni and (1) pepperoni and ham). I hate to be "that guy" but we used to live in Brooklyn, NY (we loved Totonno's and Grimaldi's) and Massachusetts (we loved Regina), and we've struggled to get GREAT pizza in the 6 years we've been out here...now we have a go-to for slammin pies. I feel bad that this post doesn't include photos, but one of the pizzas didn't make it home and the other was attacked before I could get a good pic. Their ranch: Before we left, Randall asked if we wanted peppers, parmesan or ranch, and I declined. He suggested I not pass on their house ranch that they make themselves and I obliged. I'm glad I did. My wife, who is super picky at times, was shocked at how good the ranch was. She said "damn...that's surprisingly good, and I don't even like dill in my ranch, but that's excellent." Basically half of the pepperoni pizza was bathed in ranch and we wished we would have gotten a couple more. Pro Tip: Each pizza feeds 1.5-2 people but if you're hungry, you could probably house a whole pie without regret.

The tea was fantastic (we ordered the Darling Darjeeling), but I wish we could have gotten one tea pot per adult instead of sharing one with the tea service. My daughter loved her apple and honey tea. Everyone who worked there was very friendly and they offered hot water refills more than once which was nice. The tea room was chic and very clean. Location was a little hard to find. Waze and Google Maps took me to the back parking lot, but the signage was on the street side of the building.
