Stopped in San Clemente to wait out unexpected traffic stoppage en route to San Diego. We were originally planning on a glass of wine but ended up with a wine flight instead. Jerome was wonderfully engaging. No wine snobbery whatsoever. Chelsea also helped us as we experience though the different stage of wine tasting. They do different wine pairing and other fun activities as well. We talked to several long time customers and wine club members, everyone was very welcoming and it's clear that San Clemente wine company has many fans. We had a great time and made the afternoon much more pleasant than stuck in bumper to bumper traffic. Until next time!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD3Q4uMtgV8&t=4s YouTube: SoCal Review Plus: San Clemente Wine Company Did you know that San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and its surrounding area has some of the best wine tasting rooms as well as Wineries? Who knew! On our way home from Dana Point, we stopped by the San Clemente Wine Company. It's a quaint wine bar located in the heart of downtown San Clemente. Parking was a little hard to come by, so we drove around for about 10 minutes, so bring your patience with you. We normally go the Wineries, in either Temecula or Santa Barbara, so this was a little different for us. Upon entering the establishment, we were impressed by the wine selections that they had. We chose to sit al fresco, and bask in the sun, since it was a beautiful day out. We sat next to a lovely mother/daughter who frequents the wine bar. They had this mesmerizing blue bottle on their table, and inquired about it. We were told it was "baby blue" or Blue Rock Baby Blue, a red blend from Sonoma County. We ordered a bottle, and might I say, it was delicious! The wine had rich flavors of cherry, blueberry, blackberry and pepper. Very pleasing on the palate. Next door, there is a Thai restaurant where we ordered an appetizer sampler to go with our wine. The food was good, reasonably priced and shareable. I also ventured to the Thrift store located next to the wine bar, and walked away with a few finds. All in all, it was a nice day, we made a few friends, sipped wine, people watched and went home with a few bottles of wine and a cigar Check out our YouTube Channel: SoCal Review Plus I posted the link on top of the page

We live about an hour and a half from San Clemente stoped by on the back up to LA and we fell in love with this Gem. Met Jerome whom was amazing such a great vibe, very knowledgeable of his wine choices. The experience was so good we have been back twice after that. Definitely recommend this spot!! Will continue to come by. The wine selection is great

Go see Jerome!! We had the best wine flight we have ever experienced! It was fun and Jerome was so gracious! He answered all our questions opened lots of different wines and we joked and laughed together. We felt welcomed and like we were with family. We will definitely be back and are considering joining the wine club. We bought some fabulous wines and our grade school BFF's even found some wine to take home To Wyoming! Thanks Jerome!

The van was fully decorated, and champagne served and music on. Our first stop Maurice Carie, Tasted wines, enjoyed a great live band, charcuterie, and a fabulous pastry, baked Brie. Eddie showed us the Barrel Room and shared some information about the barrels. Our next step was Lorimar winery, we enjoyed wine, live music, the outdoor patio was packed with people having a great time. The air was chilly, but they had heaters for comfort. They served a buffet meal which was quite delicious and generous! Our server at Lorimar made herself available for anything we needed. Eddie, our driver even fetched our sweaters when we needed them. This was event first class, fun, and no hassle. We all had a great time! The only challenge, which is typical at public events, long bathroom line for the women at Lorimar. This place was rockin' and with music and dancing!

Yet we must choose each step we take with utmost caution, for the footprints we leave behind are as important as the path we will follow. They're part of the same journey -- our story." ― Lori R. Lopez, Dance Of The Chupacabras What an amazing event this was! OC Meets Napa and Baja, presented by Community Health Center AltaMed, brought primarily Latino-centric restaurants and chefs in Orange County and Latino-owned wineries in Napa and Baja together in a celebration of culture. Proceeds from all the ticket sales went toward supporting the Orange County health services and programs that AltaMed spearheads in underserved communities. When I was Housing Manager for the City of Huntington Beach, I funded Alta Med through the City's CDBG program and am very knowledgable about the great services they provide especially in a country that still has an imperfect and expensive healthcare system. What was cool about this event was actually seeing, meeting and talking to the chefs/winemakers. These are the people who chose their path, who chose their own story. The passion from chefs such as Beto Ygei from 930 Sushi (excellent spicy yellowtail), Carlos Selgado of Taco Maria (wonderful scallop here), Gabbi Patrick (I think they did a scallop dish too), Rogelio Martinez of Casa Oaxaca (so excited was he about his sorbets and ice cream), and winemakers such as Alex, Oscar and Lola Llamas (best wines at event and great people too who invited us to hang out afterwards). This is the type of event that I love to attend and is only second to the San Jose Jazz Festival as favorite yelp events of this kind that I was lucky enough to get tickets from Yelp. Was disappointed in the Baja wines as there was little balance or flavor with those wines, and a lot of rustic smells and astrigent finishes. However given that when traveling the local wines always taste better when you are visiting their area (Cinque Terre was an example of this where the wines are fabulous only when you are outdoors on a patio with a great view eating a sublime pesto dish in Italy), I will visit Baja soon and visit the better wineries on their home turf ;-) Thanks again Yelp for this event! I…read morewas worried about rain but it cleared up right before the event started which led to the vendors scrambling to set up their tents. It was warm and muggy but there was plenty of food and drink for all the guests to enjoy. There were plenty of Napa and Baja wine vendors pouring wine throughout the event along with restaurants from LA, OC, and Baja. Some of my favorite food vendors were Anepalco's Cafe, Taco Maria, Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen, and Deckman's en el Mogor. Wine was definitely plentiful as was the food. There was a wine wheel that you could spin for $20, which went to the Women in Action charity and in turn you won a wine bottle valued anywhere from $40 to $80. I won an $80 bottle of wine. It was pretty awesome. There were tables for all the guests to lounge and mingle at. The event was held at Mission San Juan Capistrano which I had never visited before. We were allowed to walk around the exhibits while the Mission was closed to the public. Pretty cool. Thanks to Yelp OC for the tickets. My +1 and I had a great time.
