Was super busy and loud, definitely a bar feel. I thought since it was crowded the food would be legit, sadly I was wrong. We ordered a pizza and the Opa Greek salad. On a positive note the staff was incredibly warm and kind. My family and I are foodies, my children eat everything, and of course pizza is a staple we all love. Unfortunately the pizza was not good. My son who's 8, even said it was too oily and neither kid finished a slice. My husband and I also got the Greek salad and were pretty surprised when they came with no lettuce. Generally I assume when I'm getting a salad there's lettuce in it so we didn't think to ask. My husband and I asked about it and were told it's traditional Greek. I can respect that but it's a pizza joint and I've been to many Greek restaurants and have never had a lettuceless salad. Great pizza, but they're not winning the JD Powers & Associates Customer Service of the Year Award. First off, you can't order from the bartender, you have to leave your stuff, then walk up to a different area to order food. Sort of annoying. I ordered a pepperoni pizza, add half sausage. It is a "make your own" for $16...full pepperoni $3...1/2 sausage $1.50. Should have been charged $20.50+ tax Heather G. rang me up for a "From the D" add sausage. Which is baseline $23 pizza with double pepperoni then added $3 for full sausage. Not what i ordered. I added a $4 tip and it was $32. I asked why it was so expensive and she told me what she rang me up for. After a bit of back and forth, she called to the cook and said "single pepperoni only" in a huffy tone. Instead of putting in the right order and charging me accordingly, she refunded me the $4 tip and walked away. Seemed to be a pretty straight forward order that could've easily been resolved. Gibroni's! So good! We happened upon Gibroni's and what a nice surprise. Half of Gibroni's is dedicated bar space with ample seating while the other half is less TV forward. You order at the counter and seat yourself. We shared the following: -from the d ($23): double pepperoni, marinara + parmesan -dry-rubbed chicken wings with buffalo ($17) -beef tallow fries ($6) The pizza was absolute fire. It was the best pizza bite I've had in a long while. The crust was giving Pizza Hut original crust which my very favorite in the whole wide world. Except of course it was much more dense and rich and I loved every bit of it. The double pepperoni was like a reward with each bite - not one but two pepperonis. Of the things we ordered, I didn't love the beef tallow fries.They were sadly overcooked. We were down in SJC and husband wanted to get lunch somewhere, he looked up pizza and found this place, so we headed over. They have a decent sized parking lot, but I think if they were packed, parking would be difficult. This is a super laid back place with a Detroit themed sports bar vibe. Order food and soft drinks/tea and pay at the counter, they bring the food to you. Order all alcohol at the bar. Our lunch was $30 for the pizza, an iced tea, and two sauces - you pay extra for sauce. We maybe waited 15 minutes for our From the D Pizza, which is double pepperoni, mozzarella, and parmesan. Glad we only got one pizza! These slices are THICK and filling, we were both tapped out after one. The pizza was so cheesy and delicious, we liked that it was served on a cooling rack so the grease dripped off onto the pan below. He ordered Ranch and Parmesan Garlic sauce, I personally didn't need either of them and I wouldn't waste money on sauce again - especially at $2 for each small container. All of their pizzas sound great and when we come back (which I hope we do!) I want to try the The Fun Guys with mushrooms, sausage, and truffle oil. I absolutely LOVE this style of pizza. Thick, doughy slices. Detroit pizza is like Chicago deep dish, but better. I tried a salad, which was so yummy & could've been a meal in itself. I don't remember which it was, but it had bacon, cheese, tomato and onions and their special ranch. It was simple, yet refreshing. We ordered two pizzas. I fell in love with one of them and wasn't a huge fan of the other. The caprice pizza was a 10/10. Fig, prosciutto, blue cheese, balsamic, and arugula. I feel like it didn't need the blue cheese (and I'm usually a fan of blue cheese), but overall it was a really tasty pizza. The pepperoni pizza was more of a miss for me. It was just too salty/heavy on the pepperoni for me. I can see how someone would love it, but they would need to really, really love pepperoni (and salt). Dare I say... this may be some of the best pizza I've had. Truly, Gibroni's know what the heck is up. I've had my eye on this place since they were a small shop but they recently expanded into a larger sit-down. The atmosphere is great with TV's, lots of seating, arcade games and more. My friend had his 60th birthday here. I had never heard of the place. His favorite band was playing. As a concert venue it's great but super, super loud!! I saw Metallica at the YouTube theater in December and it was about half as loud as this place! You have to go there thinking you will just be listening to the music because it is way too loud to talk to your friends. The Detroit style pizza is good. The crust is par baked earlier in the day. Then topped for the finish bake.... This pizza is getting very popular in California. Naturally, it started in Detroit and they baked it in oil pans from the Ford factory. That is what determined the shape of the crust. The service was great, the place was packed! The workers were slammed but happy! Oh man!!! Found this hidden gem while passing through the city. We don't really go to San Clemente but this spot popped on my suggestions and had to try it for myself. I never had Detroit style pizza and fell in love after taking the first bite. I ordered the FUN GUY PIZZA for $22. It was plenty enough for two. Pizza comes in 4 slices and the crust is crunchy! The flavor was absolutely amazing and now I have to make another 2 hour drive for this spot. The service I don't really care for. They don't go above and beyond. We had just arrived in San Clemente and wanted a low key dinner. Gibroni's was in walking distance from where we were staying, so why not? It was crazy busy when we arrived. Managed to get a couple seats in the cozy patio in front. Then we moved to a side area cause this family just left this big table. Two women took the table, and we moved to where they were sitting in a corner. Lots of families! And I'm talking lots of kids in the front dining area. But their space is long, cause there's another dining area where the bar is. I was just going to order a pepperoni pizza and then I saw From the D, which is a deep dish with double pepperoni...YES PLEASE!!! I also ordered the Opa salad, which came out first. We thought there would be lettuce underneath but it was cucumbers, tomatoes, pepperoncinis, olives, purple onions and a ginormous hunk of feta! Soooooo good! A really nice change from the ordinary! Then came out the D! Dang, this pizza consisted of four thick squares of the tastiest marinara, cheese, and pepperoni! Some of them were crispy which were great! Also, you do have to order drinks at the bar and the food from the window. You get a number and go find a seat. They have some great beers on tap. The food runners are great! We first got in contact with their catering manager about a month or two before and was able to finalize the menu and get recommendations on how much to order for a party of 30! Even though it was not the best weather that day, we were able to still get the patio as planned and all squeezed into that space! The pizza was a hit for a group of foodies who were surprised by how great the pizza was! The toppings and variety and crust are all so delicious! Gibroni's was the perfect place to host our casual wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party! We were able to reserve an indoor-outdoor space for our 30 guests, which included TV's and a hockey table game. It was a fun, comfortable, and laid back vibe. Michele from the catering team was so easy to work with and even went the extra mile to ensure that the beer we preferred would be available for us. We were able to serve a variety of items from the menu to our guests, without essentially paying for a second wedding dinner. Importantly, everyone really enjoyed the food. I wish you got a little bit more for the price but overall they were very good. This is a good place to go. We visited this place on Saturday afternoon and it was so good! From the aesthetic, to the super nice staff, and the bomb dot com food! We got pizzas-- however we demolished them before I could take a pic :( they were SO GOOD! I probably could had a whole one to myself. We also got the kids Mac & Cheese for the littles and it was delicious. Wings were 10/10 Never tried this brand of root beer and I'm obsessed! It's a great place to go with friends or even solo. Wowowowow! I am so glad I found this place! My wife wanted to find a spot to meet up with her brother, and first mentioned, Pizza Port. I said, no way, we've been there too many times, let's try to find another place. I looked on Google Maps and found this little gem close by. I immediately went to Yelp to learn more, and I immediately fell in love with the pictures. I said, HERE, THIS IS WHERE WE MUST MEET THEM! We get to this place, and it's decked out in Detroit gear. There are a few booths, and nice couch area, and then a dining area that has a stage for, I guess, karaoke and live music. COOL! There's also a Cadillac corner booth, which was rad so of course we sat there! There was also a large bar for all your beverage needs. We ordered online because the line is long, however, please note, your pizza will come in a box! I feel like this hindered my first tasting experience (more on that soon). We got the pepperoni pizza and a custom pizza (pineapple and kalamata olives). I also ordered some wings because I was super hungry. We went back to the counter to pick up our order near our timeslot, and brought it back to our table. The pizza is so wonderful and beautiful. The pepperoni pizza was SHOWERED with roni cups. roni cups on top of roni cups and crisped together to be fused into one big roni cup king. Delicious. My wife likes her pizza as well -- it was definitely huge! I tried to finish mine, but I couldn't. We could have easily split one pizza here and be FULL. But, I also ate all my wings... so... nevermind... OK, so here's why I think ordering online hindered my tasting experience. I noticed folks who dined in got their pizzas on a nice metal tray. the box will cause the steam from the hot pizza to circulate, which can affect the crispiness of things. so when we got our pizza, it was kind of floppity... but it didn't ruin the wonderful taste of the pizza. I didn't knock any stars for that! The pizza was GREAT!!! I still dream about it!! The service here was amazing - super friendly. There's also a little arcade areas for the kids, with like table hockey, grab machines... candy... fun times. They have a pizza mascot too. Little cool pizza dude.
