San Diego's Best DJs did our wedding last weekend. We were recommended SD's Best by a longtime friend so decided to send them a message. DJ Artistic reached out in a timely manner and we set up a conference call. We knew right from the first call that this was going to be a great match. Art was super dialed in to how to move a crowd and keep the big day going. He had great anecdotes and insight and we could tell he was a true pro. We booked him literally the next day. In the months leading up to the wedding he was able to answer all our questions and even provided us with templates that were super helpful in planning the flow and music choice for the wedding and reception. On the big day Art showed up and was professional in putting together not one but two set-ups (our ceremony site and reception tent) in a timely manner. HIs soundcheck was non-disruptive and he was ready with the seating music before our first guest arrived. I booked DJ Artistic for my wedding reception. Prior to choosing to use him, we had a 30 minute phone conversation where he and I discussed his services and ran through what the wedding reception timeline and events could look like. He had some good suggestions that I used, such as dismissing tables for the buffet line and having them come up to the stage with the bride and groom before grabbing a plate. (This allowed my husband and I to greet each guest and give hugs and ensure we had a photo, while also being able to sit down and eat during dinner). Prior to the wedding he sent a template so that I could lay out the song choices and work through the timing. We spoke the week before the wedding and discussed final details and logistics. The wedding day came and when my husband and I arrived, I could hear the music and laughter while standing outside of the reception hall with the door closed, which was a good sign. Throughout the night he was able to handle transitions between songs well and to both pump up and slow down the crowd, as appropriate. I did not have a coordinator, and he was able to keep time and work with the photographer to ensure we did events, such as cake cutting, and got the photos we wanted. If I could give Arthur 10 stars I would. There are three people who runs your wedding that is the wedding planner, the photographer and the DJ. Arthur gave us one on one attention, walked us thorough the process for the ceremony and the reception.
