Where do I begin, please bear with me. I took my nephew to the Sockers v Strykers game last night, & it will be our last. Our seats we closer to the Sockers fans, and their team bench. Those socker fans were probably some of the drunkest, most obnoxious fans I've ever seen. One of there supporters told me they chartered a Bus from San Diego, and were drinking the entire time. I would have expected better behavior from the fans of The reigning Champion Sockers, than what was displayed last night. Do better Sockers, someone is always watching!! D.T read more

I went to the game 3/24/23. First time .. and last time. The game was fine. Getting into the arena was near impossible. The window people would not simply sell me 4 tickets. They insisted that I install some stupid app on my phone and establish an account (who knows where) BEFORE selling me the tickets. Naturally establishing an account required providing personal contact information. All this nonsense was going on as other people were waiting in line to approach the box office. I flatly refused and was only then (and begrudgingly) sold 4 paper tickets. It then took 2 or 3 passes for each of us to get thru the metal detectors. WTF! i'm not trying to get into the oval office. Just trying to experience a 2nd rate team playing a 2nd rate sport. At the very least I expected a welcoming reception. Major fail. I'm not going back. read more

OMG! Best sports night to do! Grab your kids, your friend and go to Sports Arena! $15 seats totally worth it! The game is so intense. Knowing that Landon Donovan is now we playing for Sockers tells you how good it is. You will loose your voice, scream like a freak, you will turn into a real fan after the 1st quarter. That team deserves all the San Diegans attention! No joke! ++++ $2 Budlight and $5 Margarita... they always give you a goodies as a souvenir. Food is not bad at all. We go every home game and we won't miss one! Sockers are so good... you get a chance to grab a soccer ball anytime they score, and they do score a lot! The only big bummer it's the $15 beer... I will never get used to that... thank god Califino is here to cover your thirst... we came last night with 16 Frenchies, they had no clue about Arena Soccer, they had a blast! I have been a major supporter of the Sockers over the years, since their beginning way back in 1978. They have such a rich, deep history in the indoor and outdoor soccer world. Fun to watch, the players take time to talk to fans, take pictures, sign autographs, whatever it takes. I have been fortunate this past season to watch them play in 4 different cities. I currently live in AZ, so getting to their games takes a bit of planning. I have attended several games in El Paso, Ontario California, and did a big road trip to Lakeland Florida for 2 games. The team appreciates and applauds those who are able to go to their games and cheer them on. A fun, amazing group of guys, from the coaches on down. Keep up the great work everyone! read more

BEST SPORTS DEAL IN SAN DIEGO - TAKE NOTE! $10 GA seats that are ALMOST as good as the more expensive seats - the stadium is so small, every seat is a good, clear view. The Sockers are an amazing team that never disappoint, and most of the nights have some sort of awesome freebie - t-shirts, programs, etc. The games are action-packed and very community-oriented. We went to watch the Sockers play Soles de Sonora on December 15, 2019. My wife had never been to a Socker's game. We had an amazing time. The service at the arena was friendly and prompt. Diane, our server was pleasant and the usher near our premier box was helpful and congenial. We are going to another Sockers game in 2 weeks we enjoyed it so much. If you are looking for a great time for your family I highly recommend you taking them to a game. The tickets are affordable, the staff excellent and the game is amazingly fun. read more

I still love going to Sockers games and I am a bigger fan now than I Was when I wrote my first review. Some changes have been made. Most importantly the games are now at the Sports Arena so there is no need to dress like you are going to the snow. The players still stick around to sign autographs and they are excellent with kids. The games are even more exciting now that they actually have tough competitors. I highly recommend you checking out a game if you haven't done so already. Parking is free. read more

I love going to Sockers games, their is honestly nothing more exciting to watch and no better entertainment value. The Sockers organization is equally top class From the general manager to the play by play announcer. Every player (former/current), all those who work for the sockers organization are amazing people. This is what good, rowdy, local fun is all about. As a red-blooded North American, "soccer" to me is that game with the guys in shiny shorts where they run back and forth for hours on end, and the game often ends in a tie of zero to zero. No crashes? No broken tibias? No 400-pound Samoans? Where's the fun in that? I'll tell you where the fun is. The Del Mar Fairgrounds, watching the San Diego Sockers. Yes, they're back for I think the third iteration in its lifetime? As an SD Native, I remember Julie Veeeeeeee and the championship teams of the 80's. Then they went away, then they came back, then they went away...and they're back again, and so deserving of local support. Tickets are inexpensive, and you can sit right against the glass, cheering for players, many of whom have day jobs, or heckling the other team with glee. There's plenty of beer and food for sale, and even though it's "indoor" soccer, it's in the covered-yet-open part of the Fairgrounds where they have the rodeo. A very cool venue, and right at the front of the Fair parking lot, so it's no long shlep to get there. The players and coaches hang around and talk to the fans after the game, and the atmosphere is fun, friendly, and all about raw sport and emotion. The field is smaller, so the game is very fast, and often high-scoring, so if your attention span is short like mine--SQUIRREL!--you will have no problem getting into the games. Go. Just go. Plus, the team is really good, so you won't feel like your heart is being ripped out and stomped on like other SD sports teams who get your hopes up and then just forget to show up and play, as if they didn't realize that you made up a special batch of guacamole just to watch them play because you just KNEW it was their year...Sigh... read more

watching the sockers score on saturday's finale to the thumping and stomping of the wild crowd was pretty electrifying. the opposing team put up a good fight in the 2nd half and almost sent them into ot. on a chilly evening, pack some blankets. those metal benches are brutal on the buns even with winter coats on. believe me, a blanket will make the world of difference. all the usual park nibblies were here: kettle corn, corn dogs, gyros, and pizza. watch out for the stray soccer balls that fly over the barriers. no one is safe - not even by the gyro stand. it was fun to watch some charity fund raising games like kicking the soccer ball through a tiny hole or seeing hundreds of yellow frisbees try to land inside a tire for "x" amount of dollars. the one downside was the excessive and sometimes unsportsman-like heckling. i won't name the box seats, you know who you are...anyhoo... and frankly, running onto the astro turf and high fiving the players while being showered with bits of confetti was just - awesome! read more

I have been going to the Sockers since The early 80's when I was a kid. The Sockers never disappoint. Always a great time! The most underrated sports team in San Diego. They have won 14 championships and are currently going for number 15. Games are at the Valley View Casino Center formerly known as the Sports Arena and parking is free. After the games you can high five players and the players will always sign autographs and pose for pictures with their fans. Season runs from Nov thru March and if you have not been to a game come check one out as I will guarantee you will have a great time! read more
