She had the opportunity to make the varsity team for her senior year of HS, but quit because SoCal took away her joy for the game. This is due to always mixing bad players with good players, so the bad players can improve (if possible) and stay with the club longer. This meant losing the majority of their tournaments due to sh!tty players. When SoCal has tryouts, it's not to make a team of your skill level; it's so they can know which teams to put the bad players on. The mix is like 40% bad to the rest of the Team. Yeah, losing all the time due to bad players does not make for a good experience.

Glad we found this kids recreational sports league. This would be my daughters first official…read moresports team and she loves it. She started not knowing a lick of soccer and now she's in there kicking her way up and down the field and she feels proud she got the player of the game medal last week for saving a goal in which the other team would have tied. The coaches are nice and all the kids have good sportsmanship. My older daughter wants to play also but they have an age cutoff of 8 years for soccer and I believe 7 for baseball. This basketball league is by far one of the worst ones I have ever enrolled my children in- from "coaching" and how staff handled it overall. At first glance, staff was friendly and appeared knowledgeable about the game. But when it came to practice and the actual game, it was lacking. Understandably most kids have never played basketball, but it shouldn't stop you, the coach/staff, from calling a blatant travel all game OR addressing it during practice! Not addressing it just builds bad habits especially for young players. Cool story. There were younger players who finished their championship game before ours. All trophies were on a table outside for presentation. When the winning team went outside, the 2nd place team had taken the 1st place trophies and the champion team had to settle for 2nd place medals due to a lack of coordination by staff. Again, I'm sure the winning players felt wonderful afterwards. Another amazing story. During my son's championship game the staff realized the team were lopsided and decided to swap my son and another player to the losing team after the first quarter. First off, shouldn't the staff know their players by season's end to divide teams evenly? Apparently not cause no one was paying attention all season. In the end, the losing team lost and the staff gave my son a participation medal which went into the trash before we even left the gym. Save your money folks and go somewhere else.

It is without a doubt the most disorganized league we have ever seen. So Disorganized to the detriment of the experience for the kids. Some teams didn't have a coach and the leagues though advertised to be a certain age group were in fact not. We registered for the 7-9 year olds and they made it 6-10.... How in the heck is a 6 year old supposed to play with a 10 year old. Bill Sixsmith is a coward who won't respond to emails.

I mean, when I was a kid...I was happy to use any pool over the summer...but my kids have a choice of fantastic city owned pools. Las Posas pool is smaller than Woodland Park pool- there's no diving board but it's heated and there is a fun splash pad. The shaded area is smaller than woodland park pool...something to keep in mind. The lifeguards are friendly and enforce rules. I prefer Woodland Park pool simply because it's closer to my house and there's more shade, but Las Posas still earns 5 stars!

The turf was smooth and soft. Unfortunately, there's not much to see as CSU is still in construction. I hear that many people from the community come here for their fitness needs, and I felt pretty safe running on the track. Note: Come on Wed evenings. The Farmer's Market is located on campus in one of the parking lots. The track is right across the street. Workout and grub on healthy fruits and snacks afterward!

Not only are the monthly fees already overpriced, but now they're charging $15 for a single game on a Sunday--seriously? When we politely questioned the price, the person at the ticket booth gave us attitude instead of an explanation. It's frustrating to see youth sports becoming more about profit than the kids.
