The ceremony was beautiful, and overall we felt like our loved one was honored considering the short amount of time that everything was completed. They took care of the slideshow that was shown during the service, they also took care of the playlist of songs, and they took care of the programs that were handed out. Norma was also helpful in making sure the food was stocked and displayed along with ensuring our guests needs were taken care of. The bathrooms were clean, the whole building seemed to be clean, and it didn't seem like that detail was overlooked which was highly appreciated after viewing other funeral homes. The lighting was good, and we felt like the staff was good overall as well. There was also a private family room attached to the main service room if anyone needed a break or wanted to use it for a kids room. This place was full service from what I could tell. The only part that I wasn't extremely satisfied with was towards the very end where it felt like we were a little rushed out. We did book for an extra hour to ensure this didn't happen, but things happen and we understand that part wasn't understood my some of the staff. We initially visited the day after his passing to make arrangements, and purposely selected a shady, wooded area in a row that allowed for raised monuments. The prices are high and the paperwork is extensive, but the staff we worked with were professional and all of our questions were answered. Even the day of the service, things were smooth and organized. Yet, nearly two and a half years later, he still does not have a headstone. There's a board that approves all markers and they have declined several drafts of what we want- and we are never provided with a rationale for why. Despite selecting a plot based on being able to use a raised headstone, we are now being told that the policy has changed. A design with a cross was declined, and staff (off the record) said it was due to the religious imagery. At a cemetery! Ridiculous. Whenever we request a copy of these mysterious policies, we get the run around. Nothing is ever provided in writing. Calls higher up to get this rectified are never returned. Apparently, once they get tens of thousands of your dollars and your loved ones remains, they could care less about customer service. Losing a parent is a heartbreaking experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone and Mission Park has made the ordeal exponentially more exhausting and painful with their constant paperwork and lack of humanity. I guess the one small upside is that the double-deep plot means I won't have to go through this elsewhere when my mother passes, we will just need to carve in the dates. Assuming they ever allow us to have a headstone. NOTE: There is only one single-stall bathroom available in the sales trailer, no facilities on site despite the massive chapel building that has been under construction for years. Plan ahead when visiting or attending a service.

We placed a bouquet of yellow and blue flowers and we had to zip tie them together because we didn't want them to fly away. We went today and they took all his cars and for some stupid reason they took all his yellow flowers and left his blue flowers. They cut the zip ties and threw the zip ties on his grave. They discarded everything with absolutely no care. It was already a devastating loss in our lives and for them to treat my grandsons graveside like trash is ridiculous and utterly disgusting. We were planning on removing everything this Friday the 6th because they posted the next flower pick up was scheduled for March 10th through the 12th. I like that they give me options as I can be cremated, or have any casket I like interred here, and my husband can be buried with me. My children will have a beautiful place to visit us and their ancestors. i love that it is kept neat and tidy and the rows are very impressive. You DO have to follow their guidelines as to what can be placed with your loved ones on the graves during visits as well as what type of flowers can be left there. JUST AN FYI, do not leave anything at ANY cemetery that you will be devastated if it is stolen. I saw someone on here post that their little boys cars were taken by the grounds keepers and zip ties were left on the grave. That was more likely done by someone stealing them. I have seen it at every cemetery here in San Antonio. I have literally watched ppl steel flowers off someone's grave and put it on their loved ones. It is very disgraceful but it happens. I am a bit scared to be a lady vet buried alongside all the good ole boy vets who did not like women serving, but I served my country well and will till the day I go, not my administration, my country, my children's country, my grandchildren's country.
