I am rarely in Georgetown, TX, so I thought I would take in the sights and sounds of Georgetown. First sightseeing stop...San Gabriel Park. San Gabriel Park is huge, scenic, and with pristine manicured grounds. There is a little something for everyone - playground for children, walking and cycling trails for adults and fishing for adults as well. Quite honestly, I was surprised to see how many folks were fishing in the San Gabriel River. San Gabriel Park is located along the San Gabriel River. Although the San Gabriel Park is quite large, it has the feel of being absolutely serene simultaneously. The park has picnic tables, places to sit along the river and places to hang out if you want to meditate or take in the park's beauty alone. This park is definitely family-centric with playgrounds, open fields, and shaded areas for picnics or self-discovery. read more

Well, I have been here 2 days this week and I have been able to get my miles in. You can run, walk, bike or stroll along these trails. There are several parks along the way where you can sit or have a picnic. There is even a few places that have children's playgrounds. I don't cone here often since I live a little ways away but I have always enjoyed my time. read more

Nice riverside park! Quite spacious and you'll get to choose either to play at the playground or chill at the riverside! Nice walking path along the river as well! Good family friends time guarantee! Since it's a nice spot, sometimes it gets dirty with trash due to irresponsible people but other than that it's nice! At least we enjoyed our visit. read more

A nice place to walk the dog. Plenty of folks enjoying themselves. Just beware of the dredging operations! Fun to watch, but noisy as hell!

Ran the Cupid's Chase 5K race that was hosted by Georgetown in the park. There was a skateboard park here. Also has a nice playscape for children to play on. There was a dirt track for doing laps and walking. Also they had really clean restroom facilities. Looks like a great park for enjoying outdoor recreational activities. read more

We love this park. People are friendly. We have seen ducks, geese, other birds, fish, turtles, snakes, and squirrels... and lots of pets brought by other visitors. Playgrounds and bathrooms are nice. read more

After going to Chandler park we decided to stop here at San Gabriel Park to see the rest of the trails. At first glance parking seems sparse in the location we found. There are two clean bathrooms so that's a plus. This park features a bridge over the flowing river with a sidewalk along certain areas. The majority of paths are dirt gravel however. There was some playground equipment and swings which were fun to swing on. Keep sanitizer for your hands though. The river area is home to several types of ducks and small fish. There are some inlets where tiny fish and salamanders are. One seemed like it could be a natural spring. There are also plenty of squirrels that ham it up for the camera. It was a nice walk and a great way to kill some time. I'd come back for sure. read more

I love San Gabriel Park. There is plenty of parking and plenty of waterfront, lots of covered pavilions and play areas. Even on a sunny weekend, we had no problem finding our own little corner of the park to play with our dog and puppy without feeling crowded. I have paddle boarded on the River and enjoyed that, too. The trail system is lovely and there are plenty of trees for shade. read more

Georgetown has some of the coolest cutest hiking spots if you live in Georgetown you definitely have to check out some of the hiking spots down there I love the trails I love all the trees I love the water I love how they secluded I love how some of them there's not that many people so I feel a lot better going hiking especially during Covid wanting to make sure that can social distance and keep myself 6 feet from people when I go to the trail there's never too many people if I do run across people and they're not around me for too long either the trail can take you a few hours to get through depending on you know how fast you walking how far you want to go which I love because they are some trails that I go through and they're like 1 mile that's it and I'm like why would he kind of wanted more exercise the stain so go to Georgetown a lot of them are long read more

Nice hidden gem in Georgetown, quite large actually. Plenty of shade, trails, activities for the family, a golf disc course, picnic tables and water. We went here on one of our Sunday Fundays for the first time and had a nice picnic - we will definitely be returning. Very relaxing and scenic. read more

This is park is situated on the San Gabriel river. It's a great spot for bank fishing. The park is on one bank of the river and most of the fishing is done on that side. You can cross the river and fish on the other side of it if you are seeking solitude. There is a bridge over the river that is pedestrian friendly since it has been closed off to vehicles. The river was flowing very well on our visit, and there was quite a bit of wildlife including squirrels, birds and turtles. I didn't see any large fish in the river, but there were several fisherman that make me think that they are in there. The park has play equipment for the kids to enjoy. There are also several tables, some with bbq pits, for picnics and bbq's. The park was quiet and peaceful. read more

Just beautiful. Nice long walking path along the river with turtles, ducks, other birds. A couple of different playgrounds with non traditional fun extra areas (like a rubber hill with tunnels) and some workout areas along the path. Wish we had discovered this years ago. read more

We walked along the paved trail at San Gabriel Park on a very hot Sunday afternoon. Starting at the east parking lot, we headed east (into the shade), crossing under I-35, and meandering along what I assumed was the San Gabriel River. We passed a few walkers, a handful of joggers & several cyclists, but for the most part, we had the sidewalk to ourselves. We doubled-back, logging 5K. There was plenty of shade with intermittent open spaces & opportunities to dip your toes in the river. read more

I was in Leander visiting friends for the weekend and we made the short trip to Georgetown to San Gabriel Park for some paved hiking. The weather was perfect. Sunny, 75 degrees, full sun and windy. We hiked through a few different parks but we started at San Gabriel. It was clean and beautifully maintained. I'm not sure where one park ended and another started but we came across playgrounds, workout equipment, water fountains, and bathrooms. We were passed by probably 25 different cyclist and 10 runners on our 6 mile round trip hike. So lots of people know that this is the place to be when you have perfect weather in Texas. read more
