This graveyard dates from the late 1800s and is divided into both single and family concrete bordered plots. It is well cared for with many beautifully pruned shade trees and a paved road running through it. Virtually all of the headstones on the property are in very good condition and many of the original ironworks are still in place. The property itself has a very hilly sloping topography giving it some character. There are literally many hundreds of graves on the acreage, including a large mausoleum in the far corner. The founders (Smith) graves are located at the back corner very near the mausoleum. Most of the names on these headstones are Germanic in origin. This still may be an active graveyard, however the most recent interment I could find was from 2021. There's still some room at the back of the cemetery, but most of the property is full.

Kenny Lux called me the next day and he basically booked everything for her services right away. He coordinated with the church and even assisted in booking her reception. I met with him in person a few days later and we finalized everything. Every detail was discussed. My mom's services were impeccable. My mother was meticulous in how she looked and carried herself. She was beautiful and classy. Valerie did an absolutely outstanding job for her viewing. I'm convinced she could not have looked better. Valerie captured my mom's true essence. I have planned a funeral before (when my sister passed) using a funeral home in Houston and it was stressful. Lux made everything so easy. After her visitation and subsequent funeral Mass, our family got many compliments on how wonderful the services were. It's all thanks to Kenny Lux and his team. Mr. Bass was my initial point of contact and was very caring and kind as he assisted with my pre-need arrangement plan for my Father, who was 94 years of age. While speaking to Mr. Bass, I realized that I too would have to cross this bridge so it was best to start my own pre-need. When the time came to use my Father's pre-need arrangement plan, shortly after acquiring it, my family was met with the kindest, most caring person we could have asked for: Kassi Quintanilla. She welcomed my family, on the day of his death, with patience and understanding of this tragic event although it we knew the time would arrive. Kassi, followed the procedures dotting all i's and crossing all t's. She worked with the cemetery to ensuring my Dad would have the honors he deserved and followed up almost daily to check on me and my needs. From the very beginning, I knew that the Lord had sent this angel (Kassi) to watch over me while I navigated this difficult process. Employees are ready to help you park your car to attend the gravesite service. The cars are lined up in a way so as to make leaving easy for everyone. Not so much at other cemeteries, where you are pretty much left to your own devices. So a bright spot in an otherwise sad day. The cemetery is not a large one, but it is kept in a pretty condition. Another bonus, the price is covered with their pre-paid program, no matter how much time goes by. The ceremony was beautiful, and overall we felt like our loved one was honored considering the short amount of time that everything was completed. They took care of the slideshow that was shown during the service, they also took care of the playlist of songs, and they took care of the programs that were handed out. Norma was also helpful in making sure the food was stocked and displayed along with ensuring our guests needs were taken care of. The bathrooms were clean, the whole building seemed to be clean, and it didn't seem like that detail was overlooked which was highly appreciated after viewing other funeral homes. The lighting was good, and we felt like the staff was good overall as well. There was also a private family room attached to the main service room if anyone needed a break or wanted to use it for a kids room. This place was full service from what I could tell. The only part that I wasn't extremely satisfied with was towards the very end where it felt like we were a little rushed out. We did book for an extra hour to ensure this didn't happen, but things happen and we understand that part wasn't understood my some of the staff.
