All assignments were pre made and he wasnt present at all and his syllabus was hard to understand. Unfortunately with budget cuts the selection of classes is limited in certain departments or only offered once a year. Be sure to take advantage of the computer labs, writing center, math/science center, and tutors. They actually know what they're talking about and explain things pretty well. The administration of Delta college is a bloated bureaucratic nightmare where the left hand has no clue what the right hand is doing. The admissions/ records office and especially the FA office is filled with rude, lazy staff that resort to their NPC response of "Oh we don't do that here". This is my first semester and already I've faced the potential of having to drop out do to zero support from the financial aid department. I've done everything required of me but getting them to lift a finger to take care of stuff on their end is like pulling teeth. I wondered if it was just me experiencing these issues but seeing their Yelp page confirms that its a systemic problem. Very disheartening. I write this review knowing nobody at the school in a position to make changes will read it so instead I write this as a warning to current and potential students. My best advice to potential students is document every correspondence with school employees, CC the director of the respective department you are contacting and follow up every few days.

She has an open door policy for students to speak with her whenever they want/need. They are very flexible on the clinical schedule which is good for those of us with kids or jobs that are not flexible. All of the instructors are very knowledgable and well respected in the fields they teach. One of our instructors is actually sought out by several schools. The time commitment is great. No Monday through Friday. Just one 8 hour day of class and 2-3 days of 12 hour clinicals/ SIM labs. There is no physical library at this time, but the school gives you E-books for each course, as well as access to saunders (both book and question bank), and ATI(physcal books, E-books, and question banks). They also are a lot more patient with semester payments than other schools. No one in my cohort failed the exit exam, so this program sets you up pretty well. Everytime we attend clinicals, we are told how greatful staff is to see Xavier students and that we are more competent by the time we graduate than students from other schools. We are allowed to start IV's, insert foleys, pass meds-of course under the nurse or our instructors supervision, but other programs don't allow student's to practice certain skills from what we've all heard. Over all, for the length of the program, the location, the price, and the training, I recommend this program to anybody who asks about nursing school. I would even come back to this school for my RN to BSN, but they are still in the process on working towards that accreditation and they said it will be a few years until that program can be up and running.

You see, as a plumber, you either fixed the sink or you didnt. As an electrician, your light either works, or it doesn't. If you're a mechanic, the car either runs... or it doesn't. But in Healthcare there's plenty of incompetent actors to flourish behind ambiguity. The right approach, the right mannerisms, the right personality. All of these are subjective and debatable, unlike whether or not a car simply runs. Another reason why Modesto poops out these useless Healthcare workers is because its the easiest "problem" to fabricate. If your car runs, you assume it works. If your sink drains, you assume no problem. Theres no "nuance", theres no "condition", theres nothing to attach narratives to. Theres no "your car work, oh but it has 'autism' and thats why you need to also give it this". Theres also no emotions. Your car gets serviced for an oil change, there no gut wrenching potential (or phantasmal) "cancer" thats going to demand big monies to cure a "problem" you didnt know you had. Healthcare is the easiest field to scam humans with because it has the biggest cloud of ambiguity and distortion compared to the trades. Its honestly sickening once you see it for what it is. Im not about to waste my life on gaslighting nonsense, even if it pays well. Besides, I can do much better with my capabilities without these uselsss "higher" education camps. I'd give it one star but then I'd be completely also discrediting the useless sciences I did learn there like Anatomy, Physio, and Microbiology. But beyond a few worthwhile classes (that you cant even really capitalize on without significant capital) going here is a waste if you truly want to level up your intelligence. The instructor is really nice and I can tell that she is very passionate about her job. The place is nice, safe, and very convenient. It is located at Filipino plaza, and it's close to many local businesses, such as banks, restaurants, cinema, police station, gray hound station, etc. The staffs at the clinical site, Whispering Hope Care Center, were all very kind and helpful. With in that 22 days of both theory and clinical, I have learned so much about the course and how to become an effective and reliable nursing assistant. Would I recommend this school? YES! The school has a 100% passing rate.

I learned more from youtube and other students than from the instructors. If I wouldn't have done my own research I wouldn't have learned anything. If an instructor asks you how you did something then you know you're in trouble. There were countless times the instructors asked how I did something so he can show his next class. Want to waste some time and be pissed off. Go to the financing department. They are guaranteed to mess something up. Can you sign this and this...?
