It's hard to put into words, the way I feel about this place, but I'll try…read more We specifically booked this place because of the history. And the cabin in particular that is built upon Chief Ouray's hunting adobe. We absolutely loved the cabin. It was private and primative, but had everything we needed. And to learn that it was built in 1902 was even better. It does have a comfy bedroom, it is not a studio. And a kitchenette with a fridge and a stove, a microwave and mostly fully stocked. A decent shower and lots of heaters with a wood burning stove. We would stay here again in a second. It was neat waking up to the wild turkeys and driving up and down the hill in the ice. The jeep made it really easy. We also booked the sunroom and while I do love staying in the lodge, because of its convenience, we much prefer the cabin. The sun room is almost all windows, and it is literally built on top of the vapor cave with the rock coming through one wall. It's very cozy too, and has a king bed. That part is great! There is no kitchenette in here though, but the front desk clerk was kind enough to help us with some items we needed to make some sandwiches. I'll tell you the most difficult part is this: The entitlement of folks who have no concept of respect. Whether it be berating the staff or talking loudly and obnoxiously while soaking. If someone doesn't know hot springs etiquette, they should learn. It's a place of retreat, rest and relaxation. It's also a sacred native site. It deserves respect. Don't come here if you're looking to be loud and obnoxious. You don't know how many times I watched people walk away from soaking, because of idle drunk gossipy talk... The times where we have been mostly alone, are just epic and I'm truly grateful for that. It has been one of the best weeks just becoming one with nature and the earth, honoring the sacred. There really are no more words except this... For all the negative reviews around social media or online, that's great keep it up. The rest of us would like this little gem kept a secret. Thanks

We were here over Fourth of July and I want to come back every year now. Our room was just perfect for my husband and I. Parking was easy and the room was clean. They even did a Fourth of July barbecue for all of their guests. What a treat for all of us and the food was delicious! I can't forget the great breakfast, coffee, and wine/cookie happy hour. They had games outside on the grass for everyone to play. The kids staying there really enjoyed those. I even saw guest sitting outside in their chairs, reading books, and enjoying the scenery. It was also a very quick walk to the Main Street in town. Only a block away. This place will hold a place in my heart forever.

There were s verbal groups talking and enjoying the sips and treats. This trip we stayed in a king room (108). It was very clean and had a nice homey feel to it. The pillows were way too firm. The shower was hot and had great pressure. We both woke up early and decided to hit the road. We thought we would get some coffee before we headed out (7:25a and breakfast started at 7:30). Mark and Phoebe were the greatest. They made the best included breakfast we have ever had at any hotel. The eggs were cooked perfect and their sausage was so good. I had 2 and my BF had 3! They also served roasted potatoes that were so flavorful. Homemade muffins too. . We also met several nice people and talked with Mark & Phoebe. We ended up staying g till 8:30. This Inn is located a block from everything. I would stay here again when I'm in Ouray and recommend the Ouray Inn.

When we arrived in our lovely room, waiting in the fridge were two breakfast bags filled with delicious breakfast treats. Yum! Every window offered a beautiful and scenic view. Our visit in Ouray was a short one though I already promised myself that for our next visit I will make sure to reserve a room at the Abram Inn and Suites. Yes, most definitely!

I was a guest of my family's and they booked a room for them and then they booked a room for me and my guest. I was along for the ride. My family said check out was at 11, but it was actually at 10. This was our bad and mistakes happen. I mean, we travel all over the world staying at hotels and we got our time wrong for the first time. It happens. Apparently, this was a major mistake that sent their housekeeping operation into a frenzy. We went to breakfast around 10:10 after packing our stuff up so we could quickly grab it by 11 and head out. Around 10:36, I received 5 back to back calls, plus two text messages from the hotel. I answered the 6th call, as my phone was stored away from being able to feel the vibration. When I answered, a woman told me that check out was actually 10. I apologized profusely and said we would be right there. We left immeadiately and headed over, and I sent a text to them explaining that I had been told a different check in time. When we arrived to our room, our keys had already been deactivated. No problem, we planned on going to the front desk. This is where problems began, I turned to my family and said our keys had been deactivated. At that time, a woman came towards me in the parking lot yelling that check out time was at 10. I told her sorry I was told a different time and we just needed to grab our stuff and we would be out within 10 seconds. She unlocked our door, still lecturing us, and FOLLOWED US INTO THE ROOM STILL COMPLAINING THAT IT WAS AFTER CHECK OUT. She stood there and said we signed a paper stating we would check out at 10 (okay, my bad, I thought my family had asked for a late check out). And then pointed towards the door and kept saying "Did you not read on the door that check out was at 10?" Tapping it over and over again. I just stopped engaging with her. It was very rude and annoying. I stated it was a mistake and came to get my things right away and was still treated like that. The worst thing is that this was our last resort hotel because every else was booked. The front desk was so so nice and relaxed, but whoever the lady was needs to learn some hospitality. It was an honest mistake and I was followed around and lectured like a child. We will definitely not stay at this hotel again. Lesson learned, booked earlier. The AC smells musty there, but other than that everything was okay.

My mother (65+) had the best of intentions to book a stay here for our family including my 90 year old grandmother. She booked it a month in advance and was asked to pay ~$300 in advance for a "suite," and room for all of us. As a word of caution, it is never ok for a hotel to ask for all the money up front. A deposit is normal but not the entire amount. After driving for hours we arrived. Upon arrival, the entrance was not clearly marked. Upon searching, there was a gate with a cell number to call to check in. I called this number and a man shows up in beatup truck with a dog in tow. He immediately told us that he had given part of our room reservations away. There was never a phone call to let us know about this change. He also told us that there were two beds in one room without a bathroom on the bottom floor but we could use the shared bathroom upstairs with 3 other rooms. (I believe that this is a hostel situation?) When we expressed concern about my grandmother's mobility, he offered us a bucket to use. When he showed us the room, the stench of urine punched us in the face. I am not sure other guests elected for the "bucket offer." Additionally, the mattresses appeared to be in accordion arrangement with dirty linens. As tension built, one of the people in our party requested restitution for the inconvenience of getting there and our room being double booked. When this was requested, the owner told us that we needed to leave. According to many reviews we have read in retrospect, this is a common pattern from the owner of this hotel. In the midst of this chaos I took my grandmother across the street to get a soda and food. We learned more about this business from the owner of the restaurant. We learned that he has been in conflict with other business owners in this town. Avoid this place at all costs as nothing good can come from doing business with this hotel.
