NOT A TRAIL RIDE. Beautiful horses, clearly well cared for. I started off the ride really hopeful…read moredespite Sara being late getting the horses ready. Both 10 year olds with me were excited. After 2 trips around the 1/10 mile round trip of the small pond in the backyard of her 1/2 acre lot, I began to get concerned. We were led with a volunteer who was walking my horse, so as we were chatting I realized the plan of the trail ride is to circle the tiny pond 6 times and walk a 1/4 mile down an open road and back in one direction. No interesting nature, no shade on the road and there were concerns about going in the other direction on the road when we asked for a different view (apparent neighbor issue). In total we circled the pond 3 times and went down the road and back 2 times. I don't get alot of time with just my big kids and certainly we don't have the ability to provide horse lessons, but on this one day I was hoping to have an experience in nature with my children allowing them to see Mother Nature's beauty. The picture in Oak openings is not where trail rides are conducted and there is no space for a bit of nature wonder at her stable. I walked her horses and paid $50/ person for it. When confronted, Sara explained that some places just walk their horses down the driveway and call it a trailride;therefore she refused any level of recompense. Don't be hoodwinked this is not the trail ride you are looking for, you are just exercising her horses for her and paying for the privilege.

I recently bought a horse from Sarah Collins at Precious Sea Stables. The stalls, arena and…read morepastures were clean and well tended. Every horse I met was healthy, friendly and well cared for. The horse I bought is a beautiful well trained and affectionate little gelding. I can tell you, Sarah is a good judge of horses. Even more so, she is an astute judge of riders. If I am ever lucky enough to be able to buy another horse, I will make the trip and buy from this woman.
