    Time for an Aperol Spritz.
    Chris G.

I've been here a few times and if you come to Venice this is a MUST, actually, not sure if you can avoid it when in Venice, this is the lifeblood of Venice. Often known in English as St Mark's Square, it is the principal public square of Venice, where it is generally known just as la Piazza ("the Square"). This is a beautiful square with a gorgeous church and bell tower. It gets super crowded, so get up early in the morning and walk in the square with the pigeons. Going into the church is a must, and I also highly recommend the The Doge's Palace. There is live music in the square at night, which is best enjoyed with a glass of wine or a an aperol spritz.

A beautiful Piazza located in Venice. Definitely one of the largest we have seen while in Italy. The architecture is unbelievable. It is the entry way to many shops, restaurants, bars and then some. Great place to people watch just find a shady spot because when it is hot it can be rough.

This is a beautiful square with a gorgeous church and bell tower. It gets very crowded very quickly so get up early in the morning and walk in the square. Going into the church is a must do in Venice and if you have the time, go to Dojo palace as well. There is live music in the square at night but be prepared for 23$ per glass of wine if you sit down. Prices are crazy here

From the moment we arrived to the day we reluctantly checked out, we felt completely spoiled at every turn. The St. Regis is the perfect setting for an extraordinary occasion. The service is impeccable, the accommodations are stunning, and the attention to detail is evident in everything they do. It's the kind of property that makes you feel like a guest of honor simply by walking through the door. And then there's Venice itself -- a city unlike any other. The rich history, breathtaking architecture, and one-of-a-kind atmosphere make it the ideal backdrop for a once-in-a-lifetime celebration. Every canal, every bridge, every piazza is a reminder that you are somewhere truly special. If you are looking for the finest luxury experience Venice has to offer, look no further than the St. Regis. Five stars without question.

Walking distance from everything you want in Venice. They gave us a free bottle of Bellini when we checked in. Great breakfast buffet right on the water, that was included with our room for being Marriott elite members. This has to be one of the nicest best hotels in Venice. The only somewhat downside is that because this is such a nice hotel, room service and the food options at the hotel are completely overpriced. But that's the case almost everything in Venice from what we saw. If there was some more reasonable food and beverage options at this hotel i would have given it 5 stars

Coffee and a welcome bottle of Prosecco were also waiting for us. The view is really, truly right on the canal. It's fantastic but surprisingly quiet at night, likely due to the excellent windows We took the water taxi to the San Marco Square then walked back and it was about a 30 minute walk with beautiful shops and restaurants almost the entire way. Final note, the breakfast was a very good value with a diverse selection and excellent coffee. We recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.

At the time I was Starwood Platinum, and I booked a King room with a view of the canal. As we checked in - after the train ride from Milan, the long water Vaporetto ride, and the cold walk from the square - the staff was quite friendly as they informed us ... I had been upgraded to a suite with a terrace on the top floor! Right across the canal from the room was the Basilica, with the Lagoon behind it and Lido off in the distance. The furnature was pure classical period style and the terrace was larger than my next room in Munich. Unfortunately it was February so the Terrace was of little use and some of the hotel facilities were not open. But it was fabulous anyway. Now, my stay may not be typical, not everyone gets upgraded to a $2,500/night hotel room. The location is great - easy walking to just about any part of Venezia. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not sure about wifi and connectivity - when we were in the room we weren't surfing the internet.
