My husband received a permanent crown placement on February 20, 2024. In April 2025, the crown came out. He contacted the office to schedule an appointment. At that time, he was informed that he could not be seen due to an outstanding balance for three missed appointments--something he had not previously been made aware. He was instructed to email the office manager, Alfred, at drsharmillaanand@gmail.com to discuss possible arrangements so he could continue receiving care. He sent an email on April 16, 2025, but never received a response, and the issue remained unresolved. On August 22, 2025, Alfred replied. He offered my husband an appointment to come in to have the crown addressed. On August 25 he went in for services and paid $41.00 for the re-cementing of the crown. This November, the crown came off again. When he called to make an appointment for another re-cementing, he was told he would be required to pay $169 upfront before being seen. When he questioned the out of pocket expense he was instructed to communicate only through the office manager via email. He emailed Alfred expressing concern about being charged again for the same issue less than three months later. He and Alfred conversed back and forward via email. Alfred responses were selfless responding firmly, stating that the fee could not be waived and that upfront payment was required due to prior cancellations, again incorrect information. No appointments had been missed. After my husband expressed he felt he was treated unfairly and not pleased that he was being charged again. Alfred stated that if he wanted to move his services somewhere else that upon receipt of a signed records-release authorization, they will be happy to provide copies of records to him or to another provider of choice. When I learned from my insurance company that the cost of re-cementing in August was only $41 out of pocket. I wanted clarification on why the new quote was $169. My husband and I went to the office to speak with someone in person in hopes someone can help and handle the issue in a case by case bases. We met with Jordan, who informed us that everyone had already left for the day (at 2:00 pm) and that no one was available to speak with us. She stated that ALL concerns had to be communicated via email. Jordan expressed no willingness to assist. While speaking to Jordan, I mentioned a billing error the insurance company notified me of that day. I was informed that the office billed a root canal for tooth 18, while all the work had been performed on tooth 19. The insurance representative explained that this was considered a significant error and that they would take the appropriate steps to address it. Out of frustration with the ongoing issues--immediate financial demand just for him to be seen, poor customer service, selfless responses from Alfred via email, unwillingness to assist and questionable billing practices--while in the office I told my husband that the situation and the interaction with Jordan was "pissing me off." At that point, Jordan asked me to leave the premises. There was no harmful intent behind my tone to my spouse. At no time was I rude, loud, disrespectful, or disruptive while in the building nor towards her. We were the only customers in the lobby. I explained to her that it is extremely difficult to address any concerns when the office insists that all communication must be conducted only through email. We then left the office. Immediately after leaving, I sent an email requesting that Shamilla call me. A few minutes later, I received a reply from Alfred titled "LEGAL NOTICE - OFFICE CONDUCT & COMMUNICATION POLICY." In this email, he claimed that my husband and I had arrived without an appointment and had been loud, confrontational, and disruptive toward staff. He also stated that Jordan reported I was planning to pursue legal action against the practice and because of that indication an intention to pursue legal action against the practice, they will not be scheduling any further appointments for him. When asked can the matter be invested due to that was false. He proceeds to send me a list of "To be clear". Also he mist pay $96 for his records. Needless to say, we were banned from the office based on false allegations. My husband's long-standing relationship with his dental provider was abruptly and unnecessarily destroyed. This type of treatment is unbelievable and completely unacceptable. We have never been treated in this manner before, and we strongly believe that San Marco Smiles should be held accountable for this mistreatment. read more

My hygienist assistant Bianca was so patient with me! She answer all my questions and thoroughly explained the process and post home care process to me! I wish I would have read the reviews from others and responses posted by the business manager/owner before scheduling any appointments. It felt like things were great initially when making first appt, got in quickly for myself and my wife. The office is clean, I'll give it that. Friendliness and accommodating a timely schedule for being seen to help get "fasteners" removed, zero stars. We had to wait a month for this but somehow, we were able to get in for cleanings and Invisalign purchases quicker than we could blink. The fasteners were extremely uncomfortable for us and waiting a month to be seen knowing that was in our opinion unacceptable. I was excited to have a dentist right near our home but we personally wouldn't go back. If you only need cleanings and want a clean quick office then this would work for you. If you want any professionalism when it comes to billing issues RUN. Read the responses to these reviews, you don't just get 2 stars. It's sad because the staff that provides care is polite, how this management is able to keep nice staff shocks me. I was reluctant as a new patient after I read reviews and I had to fill out so many pages of personal and medical history and 'releases'... very uncommon for a dentist ... red flag. I should have followed my instincts. I was 'released from their care' or fired as a patient because I would not agree to wear their glasses during a routine cleaning. I'm nearly 70 years old and I've never been required to wear glasses during a cleaning. Initially they told me wearing glasses was for my protection (from what they didn't say) ... another staff member said it was for their protection. They seem to be paranoid and they don't like being challenged. And I don't like being called 'Miss Debbie' by front desk staff. Awful experience. read more

This office visit was the worst I've ever experienced! I had an appointment scheduled for 7/24. Once I checked in I was told I couldn't be seen due to not being able to verify insurance. I asked why wasn't I contacted. Jose (front office) stated he called and I didn't answer (which is a lie). I received a text 7/23 reminding me of my appt and I checked in online! I called my insurance company once I got to my car and they said a fax was immediately sent to the office. Before leaving I asked for the office manager and was told I had to call a virtual assistant. I called today (7/25) to schedule an appointment and was told that the office manager looked at the camera and I should go somewhere else! I reminded Jose that I thought the office manager wasn't there and repeated I needed to speak with the virtual office manager! went in for exam ordered by employer in April. After exam the recommended a cleaning and I provided my personal insurance and they said the cost would be 23$. That was paid and the cleaning was done. 3 months later they put me into collections for owing 100$ for the cleaning cause that was not included in the exam for the employer. would not listen or even look up my insurance. claimed I signed to pay for the cleaning and the receipt even said 23$. they claimed error on the paper but still sent me to collections with never a written bill or receipt. they are incompetent and don't care about the patient. find another dentist read more

I have had a very different experience here compared to some of the older reviews. I have found the staff up front to be kind and attentive. I didn't have to wait long to get an appointment. The employee who did my cleaning and took my x rays was gentle and made the experience comfortable. They are way better than many of the cookie cutter dentist offices Jacksonville has. Not sure if management changed or if they have new staff but I haven't had any issues so far. read more

Front office and technicians very rude. Dr. Anand embarrassed me with a comment on the amount of work that was evidenced by the x-rays. I'm 73 years old. I had a 9AM appt for my daughter, just for cleaning (maybe some xrays), and it took 2 hours (leaving at 11). The parent cannot go back to view, or meet the dentist. They were very unorganized, and they used a trainee on my daughter, who cut her lip (during a cleaning)! The chair was broken, and the tools they used leaked or sprayed water. X-rays had to be done multiple times because they were poorly done and not acceptable by the dentist. Numerous other stupid mistakes made. LOT of time wasted here. I'm not going back! read more

Horrible experience all around. Why would one be asked to rinse their mouth out with peroxide (not a pleasant taste) when the concept of mouthwash exists? I was told I had to get x-rays despite just asking for a cleaning, which was fine, except for the fact that the person doing my x-rays kept messing up and had to take several extra pictures (my goal was to try to minimize the amount of times the x-ray machine was pointed at my head). I ended up walking out before my cleaning based on what had transpired up to that point. I was also billed for the 30 second "oral exam" despite never having paid for this is the past based on my insurance. Would highly recommend people avoid this office, it seems like it has been set up in a way to maximize $ for the business, leaving less focus on the actual patient experience. read more

The front staff is less than pleasant and has a major attitude. I asked why charged for mouth rinse when I have two unopened bottles and don't need anymore they said Dr ordered I have to purchase. I was also refused service because I didn't want floride treatment. They over charge for everything and my filling fell out two days after put in. So I want to start off by saying that the people were nice, even the dentist was nice the whole 60 seconds she spent looking in my mouth. I haven't been to the dentist in 3 years, I know horrible, but something just isn't right here. They tried to say I had 13 cavities which, I don't think I do just for the simple fact I would know if I had 13 cavities. Now I do believe I have maybe 3 because I have 3 teeth that are sensitive and feel like a cavity. My insurance covers cavities and cleanings once a year and X-rays once a year. They took my X-rays and that was it. I have a 1 year old son and my fiancé had to take off work to watch him while I went and my day was wasted. I get it with Covid times are tough but what happened next just didn't sit right with me and I'm glad ultimately I didn't get anything done because something deep down was telling me not to. The dental assistant was nice, and so was the other staff but that doesn't really help when your trying get money out of things that don't need done. I honestly didn't feel like I was at dentist office when it was all said in done, it felt like a bill collector trying to tell me I owed $1,000 for something that was made up. Anyways getting off topic. They ended up adding everything up the 13 cavities, $350 deep cleaning (which insurances don't cover obviously), $200 toothbrush that I never said I wanted in the first place. So when she was discussing everything with me she ended up telling me my insurance doesn't cover my fillings and I know they do because they told me they did? So technically I would have had to pay out of pocket for it ALL! So when she was down explaining I said well how about we don't do the deep cleaning bc I didn't want that anyways and just do the regular cleaning and fix the couple cavities that are bugging me. Her response was " oh no the dentist won't do that, she wants to do the deep cleaning and then we can maybe do the cavities when we're done if we have time" then I said so we can't do no cleaning at all and just do the cavities then? "Oh no she won't do that". Well excuse me i didn't know it was about what she wanted to do, it's my teeth and money. And when I got home I called my insurance and they said that they do do fillings and all they had to do was call and verify and we would have told them. Long story short I won't be going back here. They knew my insurance would take them they just would rather have the cash. I get these are hard times with COVID but if they were needing money that bad why not take what you can get even if it is little. That's how a business works, every single person isn't gonna spend big you have to take what you can get. My fiancé owns a business and something told me when they asked how much I made I lied because I really didn't want them to know let alone use it against me in that aspect. I hope you guys can turn some things around for all your jobs sake but if not I don't see you guys being open that much longer. Have to start out saying I'm old and was the dummy because I believe professionals are forthright and honest. Not so with this office. My new insurance offered 0 co-pay for cleaning. I was ecstatic. Went to this office and was told I need the heavy duty $330 cleaning not covered by insurance. It was more than I have EVER had to pay without insurance with my former dentists and the cleaning was NO different for the exception of some goo she put on the right side of my gums. It's a sham. Please, please don't go to this dentist. Staff is SO rude. Exception -- my hygienist was really nice. Probably embarrassed knowing that people are being ripped off. I had to remind her about the extra treatment I was supposed to get because I had to pay extra, but she was very pleasant. If I could give 0 stars, I would. This place is horrible! I went to them and got a quote for everything I needed done to correct my teeth. $2200 is what they quoted me so I wanted to pay and start that day but they told me about a financing program and when I applied their associate but my social in backwards and it did not render a response that day or I would have paid full amount. So I paid upfront for $850 of my plan that same day, that was signed and dated with that quote of 2200. There are different phased of the plan so I paid for 1st one (all on same plan) since they can only do so much in one day. So I go back the soonest apt they have 12/8 and AT THE END OF MY APT they tell me my plan ( THAT THEY QUOTED AND I signed which is considered a contract) was quoted wrong and added $2400 to my total. Mind you I already started this treatment plan so I was very upset. The woman at the front desk never apologized for her error but instead tried to pull a fast one on me and have initial the plan that added $2400 to my bill. I asked to talk to a manager and she rudely stated she is the office manager and refused to let me talk to any form of supervisor. Do not go to this place! Worst experience I have ever had. They would not honor the price quoted and said I only started the first phase of my plan and that I was notified of the mistake (after they got me for 855 bucks) and they would honor the new price they quoted for 30 days. So they wont honor the price quoted and signed for 30 days but a plan I havent even signed will be honored. The worst part was how rude the office manager was about the whole thing and not once did anyone say they were sorry for the mistake. It was HER mistake. After my teeth cleaning I went back for Invisalign, and they messed up my fitting three times before they were able to send it off. That was three separate appointments I had to make because they kept incorrectly taking a mold of my teeth. They talked me into getting Invisalign specifically for my bottom row of teeth, which were still not straight at the end of the process, and then they said they could do a refinement for $250, which I paid for, but the bottom trays didn't adjust my teeth at all, so at the end of that cycle they said it would cost me another $1500 to proceed based on a "diagnosis" that was apparently conducted over the phone by the receptionist, which I was confused about since my teeth are still the same, but all of a sudden I have a new $1500 "diagnosis." They also misspelled my name when they sent off my moldings, which goes to show they don't pay attention to details. read more
