The staff is super sweet, they're all very funny and they really do care for their patients. I can't remember their names but the really pretty black lady in the front office with her coworker at the time (i don't remember his name either but he had kind of dark hair) did so good at making me feel welcome and comfortable. they completely turned everything around for me. when i was taken back by this other really nice black lady(she was my favorite for sure, she had the jokes) talked me through everything and she helped me through the rough part when i had to get the bone grafts. I am definitely a child when it comes to dentist work and they totally understood that. I didn't feel nervous, i didn't feel scared, and i actually will be going back for more work when i can. With an all female office, you immediately notice a difference when you walk in and it smells like the appropriate season. They always have a little candle burning. This visit was pink pineapple sunrise and last time in the winter it smelled like flannel weather. That along with beautiful furniture, recently painted calm grey walls, and even designer mirrors, all add to the vibe that this isn't some outdated office. Things like gloves and protective napkins are hot pink instead of white. And there is a legit good playlist of country music and easy going songs to help you relax. You might even get to catch an episode of shark week while your teeth get cleaned. The staff is very patient and takes their time to make sure they have quality work. The schedulers also are super helpful at following up to make sure you remember your appointments too! I feel lucky that I can be a patient here and don't dread going to the dentist with Point Meadows Dentistry.

So I call to make an appointment and I'm told new patients have to come in for two appointments almost back to back. Ok a little different but whatever. I also make sure to ask that they except my insurance. She says yes they do so wonderful I am a happy customer. The first visit is to be a very thorough visit with all kinds of photos and things that I have never done before. The second visit would be for the cleaning. Well the receptionist called me a few days before my visit and asked if I could stay for the cleaning. I was a bit confused as this was to happen on the 2nd visit but it wasn't a problem and I told her I could stay. I asked once again if they had checked with my insurance company and she said yes everything was good. So on the day of my appointment, I check in and then the office manager calls me back to her office. Weird. She lets me know that they are Out-of-Network and she is not sure how much will be covered by my insurance and how much I will owe. So I was not happy and it did not give me a good first impression or visit. I will say the hygienist who cleaned my teeth and apologized profusely was very nice and so was the dentist. I think the front office needs to be upfront and do a better job. Maybe this is their way of getting people in there and getting money. The jury is still out if I will go back. It will depend on when I receive my bill and see how much I owe.

I was taken back after about waiting 5 minutes by Suzanne my hygienist. I had to also have x-rays done. Suzanne did a great job at my cleaning, explaining what she was doing, and always kept the conversation flowing. I had my cleaning done, then dr. Hinder came in to look at my x-rays. He said everything looked fine, there was just one tooth they're monitoring. All in all, it was a great experience.

Both the dentist and the dental assistant were communicative throughout the procedures, which alleviated my anxiety. They were efficient and thorough as well. I also received a post-procedure photo explanation of the work that was completed, and I received info about what to expect over the next few days as well as possible future care requirements. They put me at ease then, and were not judgemental in the slightest, making me feel welcome and that they cared about my comfort. And they did a good job with what was needed in addition to the friendliness. Cut to a few years later, and they're just as welcoming and kind as they were then, too. Which I feel is particularly of note since between then and now, I've come out as trans and started living as the woman I've long wanted to be instead of the guy I spent most of my life stuck as. They didn't bat an eye at it when I let them know in my email, and when I showed up in the office, they were all smiles and already calling me by my preferred name and pronouns, even though I've not yet had a legal name change. I should have written a review back when I first visited their practice, but I'm definitely doing so now just in case others who might dread going to the dentist know that Kind Care is a very good choice where you don't have to worry about being nagged or berated.
