I honestly dont know why Texas tries to make wine. Wine taste like water. None of the wine here taste good. Too watery no flavor.

We visited on a Saturday afternoon for a wine tasting. We enjoy dry wines, which they serve. The ambiance is wonderful. The tasting room inside a beautiful building. Lots of space and seating choices. There was a group there who were clearly regulars enjoying the wine. The staff member who took care of us was friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. The tasting flights are generous with quite a bit of variety. Despite the beautiful building and great service, I can only give three stars because neither my boyfriend nor I liked any of their wines. Not their reds or their whites. read more

An amazing wine tasting experience for sure. Got to taste 4 different wines - 1 white & 3 reds. The Cabernet was from grapes grown in East Texas (Sulphur Bluff) and the other 3 were from West Texas. The best part about the experience was the unique food pairings that were carefully crafted by the couple who own the establishment. The food pairings we tried were really unique and enhanced the overall tasting experience. It was really nice to experience good tasting wines from Texas. The hosts Emilio and his wife were great. Emilio makes the wine and has a wealth of knowledge for sure. We were able to tour the vineyard after the tasting. You can purchase the different wines by glass or bottles. The tasting room is really charming with a lovely decor. Patio seating is available too. This is a perfect spot to visit if you enjoy wines. Highly recommend visiting this winery. read more

A very nice place to visit, share wines with friends and be able to have adult time and relaxation without small children inside the tasting room. The policy is very clear and displayed that no children under 14 years of age are to be inside the tasting room. There is plenty of outdoor sitting, open spaces and covered areas for families with small children to sit, relax while they keep an eye on the kiddos. The owner mentioned that when there are no adult customers inside, small children are ok. The winery owners try to bring a balance to their customer base. There is a wide selection of wines mostly reds. And one can choose a tasting flight if one is not quite sure of what to order. I have been there when the owner will offer to open one of the wines not on the tasting menu for a new customer to try. The last review of 3/20/2026 sent by another person didn't mention the fact that 1. she and her husband came with 3 VERY small children who at first sat outside then changed their minds and went inside the tasting room. At which time the owner indicated the policy of children inside the tasting room AND also indicated that if there had been no adult customers inside the children would have been fine inside. And the owner wasn't rude about it. She offered several suggestions for the wine the customer was interested in provided a tasting of one of the wines on the tasting menu without a charge. While the customer requested another wine that wasn't available and purchased that one bottle. Now, how do I know all details, because I was one of those adult customers inside sharing a couple of bottles and conversations with my adult friends and having no kiddos around. read more

This was my third and last experience at this winery. I've tried giving this place a chance 3 times over the past 5 years hoping that each time it was just a fluke but I can confidently say that unfortunately this seems to be the norm for this place (especially after reading other reviews). The service has to be the WORST part of this establishment. I've interacted now with the wife and husband both together and solo and they are rude regardless of the time, day, situation. And the wines are mediocre at best. It's unfortunate because the location is very cute but completely unwelcoming. I don't normally go out of my way to leave reviews but after our terrible experience yesterday where we left without even finishing our glasses, my husband said on the way home "I honestly hate to do this, but feel obligated to leave a review at this point so people know what they're walking into." This was a good winery especially its location. You can take food and hang out in their many outdoor seating areas. Beautiful location and decor. However (as their website says), their wine tasting is setup so you can not pick and choose. I don't like their white wines so it was a waste. I've been a member for over 10 years. It's an actual winery. Not a wine bar. Easily some of the best red wines in Texas. One of the few places in North Texas that grows grapes on the property. I often bring a picnic and stay all afternoon. Beautiful inside and out. read more

I traveled from Dallas with 9 friends for my birthday and had the most awful experience. We reserved the table outside near the fire pit and had to constantly ask to keep the fire on. The employees seemed irritated to help us though our group purchased at least 8 bottles of wine or more. We were even asked at one point if we brought outside liquor, I was embarrassed someone would ask that to paying customers. I am so disappointed that this place wasn't what I was hoping for to celebrate my birthday. read more

Rudest staff that drives you out as quickly as possible! Came here for my sisters bachelorette for a prepaid wine tour that was almost $290 each. This place was the most rude staff we had come across. The other wineries were so pleasant and nice and we even told our families about it but this one was a no go. The low rating baffles me. This place is a gem. Beautiful grounds, lovely staff, and delectable wine. And you have to trust me because I don't even like wine and I loved my Classic Red Flight! I came with a friend who makes his own wine and even he was impressed. Christina recommended a Grenache which went so well with the warm weather and slight breeze. It's a great winery if you don't bring your children. The owner came over and told us that our kids needed to basically stay in our laps. He didn't ask how we were enjoying the wine (which we bought three bottles of and had two flights) although we saw him visiting with other patrons and chatting along. He told us that there were snakes and poison ivy on the property. Basically trying to scare our kids from going over to the wooded area. Mind you, they knew not to go near the grape vines. Our children are well behaved. If they weren't, we wouldn't bring them along. We won't be returning due to the lack of service. The wine was ok, the owner was a rude. read more

I don't know why a lot of people in the reviews say the owners were rude when they were very sweet to us. As a younger demographic, many places treat us slightly different than the regular customer. I was super exited for this place but upon getting there is wasn't inviting at all. The grounds and patio were beautiful. My husband and I came for a general tasting. The gal behind the counter was not friendly or chatty in the slightest. The wines were just ok. Nothing tasted super well balanced, but with Texas wines it typically is a hit or miss. Excellent venue for a party or event. I think it's a little confusing to figure out when they're open, and when you can visit. We had s great time, but we brought all our own food and they supplied the wine. The service was a bit lacking, but we did have a great time. I keep saying I'll go back, but I live a ways from them now, so it just hasn't been on my radar to go back. Plus, I'm not sure if you can just walk in and have a drink. San Martino Winery is a magical place tucked in the heart of North Texas. Emilio, the owner and master vintner, has done an outstanding job of making his family business into a lifestyle that others can enjoy with him. San Martino Wines are almost wholly made with Texas grapes. On a good year, up to 95% of the wine is made with grapes from the vineyard in the back of the winery along with the grapes from Emilio's land in West Texas. On a bad year, imported grapes can make up to 60% of the wine. Every bottle of wine I've had from here has been delicious and easy to drink. Some of them are more fruit-forward and some are heady and okay. Regardless of your taste, you will find an award-winning wine that is to your liking! Throughout the year, the winery has special events for members and guests. I have been to one tasting, which was the unveiling of their first mass produced Malbec. The Malbec was so incredible, we ordered half a case. And just yesterday, the winery played host to live music. I loved last night because all the members and guests bring food, buy wine, and find spots at tables or on the lawn and listen to live music all night with friends. If you're interested in learning about wine, this would be a great place to start, and your taste buds will thank you! read more

The land is beautiful. It is very welcoming when you pull in and stroll to get to the tasting room. Plenty of outdoor seating on the various patios and gardens to truly enjoy yourself. There are even a few vines planted there to enjoy. I like the addition, makes it more than just a tasting room. The tasting is a good price. Their tasting menu evidently changes from time to time. This had a few whites, a blush and then many reds- which was OK by me since I prefer the reds. I called ahead to double check they were open and the cost of the tasting. When we walked in and indicated we wanted a tasting they started with the right step of red or white. But other than that it was just pouring wine into a glass. No information about the wines. No information about the winery. Just pour your glass and come back when you want your next one. I mean, they had an entire shelf of wines with awards on them. Seems like you might want to share a little of that pride with potential patrons (who btw, were there for the first time). I would not say I was impressed with any that we sampled, nor were the other people I was with. All the reds tasted pretty much the same. Had the same scents and bases even through they were different wines. The Cab came off more like a Merlot, etc. The Rose was a disturbing dark pink/yellow color. A total of two glasses were had in addition to the tasting but not by me. We all decided we'd rather come back home and open our bottles we much preferred regardless of the nice setting. And it was a good thing too bc they seem to be VERY proud of their wine 2 glasses = 3 tastings. That's worse than restaurant pricing. Oh, and only when we were checking out did the lady ask if we were there for a special reason. Seems like this is how you greet a group of people who are coming in to check out your winery not as your walking out the door. Horrible experience! Walked in on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm for a birthday wine tasting w/ three others. We were all treated as if we were not "good enough" to be there since we were not "members". We all decided to sit on the patio to enjoy the nice weather and were quickly kicked out of our seating area since we were not "members". There was literally NOT ONE other person sitting in the patio area, yet they treated us as if they had a long line of people waiting to sit there. Definitely WILL NOT be back! Don't waste your time or money on this unfriendly, rude environment unless you are already a "member" before ever walking in the front door!!! read more

Went to the winery yesterday to pick up our quarterly wine purchase and too enjoy a bottle of Petite Sirah. The venue is great for groups and events but the host's need to attend the school of graciousness. We were their for almost two hours and watched the owner, his wife and associate spend time at only specific tables, I assume regulars, but never acknowledged anyone other than those specific tables. They don't realize the business they could gain, by word of mouth, just by taking a few moments to thank everyone for their business. Re-thinking our membership and will definitely share our experience with all who may ask. Hopefully they read and take action to recognize everyone versus ignoring those who aren't a part of the click. read more

My wife and I had a good experience. Why we waited to visit? I think I can pinpoint it to one thing. A few years back we read that it was not a very kid friendly kind of place. And when we had an active little boy at one time, this place was not where we could come and relax so we thought then. We were not going to ruin other people's experience because our kid was all over the place. We didn't have many sitter options back then so missed out and sort of forgot about S.M. It does read rather harsh on their page about the kids though( from what I recall). Other than that, I can't fault them for being protective of their beautifully location. We arrived on Saturday evening around 5pm only to find out that they don't do tastings on the days there's live music. Could be more transparent about that in my opinion. I don't go to websites to find out everything about places. Didn't stop us from tasting some thanks to Emilios( the owners) daughter who felt a little sorry for us. But we did proceed to buy a bottle of a lovely red and drank it there all while listening to music. It's perfect for date night. Having met Emilio was truly a treat.
