One of the things I value most is that the school helps build a strong foundation in faith, which is so important to us.

I do not recommend this school at all if you have a child who will be new to this school it would…read morebe the worst for her or him. This school will not do anything if your child is being bully or abuse by other students they will not do anything. I am so disappointed at this school my kid is traumatized for life he doesn't want to attend school anymore of everything this school did to him. My kid is taking physiology at this moment and, I will open a case of all the trauma my kid has at this moment. Principal is the worst my kid was bullied by the own teacher and the principal normalized this behavior until I have to speak with the priest and report all this behavior. Please parents don't take any children to this school they only care about money and if they ever get bullied they won't do anything.

This school does not care about your children at all, the bullying here sucks specially when you…read moreare a bit on the heavier side, if you live in a poor area or poor in general, have any self harm scars you will get made fun of getting called "emo" "human cutting board" etc and they will get pointed out. The punishments here and dumb, if someone tells you to kill yourself, the school would only talk to that person and not do much about it. The kids here specially the kids who are graduating in 2024 are not good people at all, they spread lies, rumors, body shame, get physical, etc. Big chested girls! If you are coming to this school and going into 8th grade of this year, DO NOT COME TO THIS SCHOOL! The boys here will get very inappropriate with you and what I mean by that is they are gonna say sexual/uncomfortable things about you (and if you are coming here to this school, The girls here are manipulative, try not to share any secrets with them at all, specially when theres rumors and lies going on about you. Now, I'm not saying you don't have avoid these people at all, you can be friends with them and stuff yknow, all I'm saying is be careful, try to avoid drama, and focus on your work, now back to the school itself. The school itself is nasty they don't clean the outside bathroom and hardly clean the inside bathroom, if you are in the upper grades of 6th, 7th and 8th, you are forced to use the outside bathroom which is nasty as hell, it has a bunch of bugs like cockroaches and spiders. Staff is okay, they are nice. Food here is a 50/50, pizza on Thursdays (The pizza made my stomach hurt for a few days and many others stomach) the reset of food also smells like human poop ngl. Anyways that's all the information I have on this school, once again if you come to this school I only hope the best for you. (This was all wrote by a student, DO NOT SUE ME FOR TRYING TO EXPOSE THE TRUTH OF THIS SCHOOL)

In the end, we…read morewere told that we had more than 40 parent hours to fulfill even though volunteering on site took place. No letters or timely phone calls were made when my son was dismissed. No sense of direction where he could go to start and complete his senior year. Then it was turned around saying that it was my child who was hiding things and correspondence. My son changed the three years he was there. His confidence deteriorated. Later I found out that there was a lot of favoritism when it come to certain students, especially the "star" athletes. They would get away with bullying other students and people would look the other way. Ever wonder how Verbum Dei keeps its high percentage of college acceptances? They kick out their lower performing students without proper guidance nor sense of direction, not even providing resources for parents to further support the student. My son's mental health deteriorated and much counseling was needed afterwards. We were left dissatisfied and disappointed because we sacrificed a lot to send our son to school, working multiple jobs even though the work study program partially helped. We thought we were doing our son a favor, when in reality it was a disservice. If you decide to enroll your son at this institution, be ready to keep track of everything because you will get told last minute that your volunteering contributions were not "complete," even when some of the office staff would say that no sign is was required because they already tracked it for you...

He recommends these wonderful changes that a lot of Catholics don't know about. The other priests are OK, but they don't touch me like father john does, ha ha not physically but spiritually. Another thing about the new priest father Sam is that he doesn't like Dogs I don't trust anybody that doesn't like dogs

Truthfully, he is the only one i connect with. I like Father Sam's homilies, but for me it's overall Father John. The way he puts things into prospective with life situations and bible verse, I love it. If only all of them do homilies like him, I will be in cloud 9 all the time. Sometimes I tune in to EWTN when i can't go to in person church and St. Raymond. And EWTN also gives good homilies. I miss the choir............the original choir with Jeannette but I know it will never go back to before. I guess i have to move on to not reminiscing of the past but i can't help it when i am at church. I highly recommend St. Raymond to attend Sunday mass in Downey.
