This review is specifically for Officer Middlebrook(e?) of the Dublin PD. Officer Middlebrook(e?) was on scene for a vehicle that shut off at a turning lane last night and could not have been more of a gentleman throughout the ordeal. He professionally handled traffic while also calming the driver and guiding the tow truck driver who had a somewhat tricky job since the intersection was fairly busy. Thanks again Officer Middlebrook(e?)! Your kindness and professionalism are greatly appreciated. I hope that you stay safe and that more LEO learn from the exemplary behavior you had showed that night. read more

Dublin police are terrible and give police officers a bad reputation. It's sad. I was just getting a massage at my normal place in Dublin which I love. I'm a nurse and work nights so my time there is valuable to me. During my massage, about four police officers barged in the business saying they were there to do an inspection. I get it, businesses should be inspected, but not like that. The officers were loud and rude and intimidating the one woman working there who was massaging me. They pounded on the door. The woman doesn't speak great English and they were ordering her around. Why can't you guys come in quietly and be polite, wait patiently until she was done?? These guys come in high on control and think they are better than everyone else. They could have been quiet and respectful but they are loud, rude and need four officers to talk to one small woman?!?! Are you kidding me? It's pretty ridiculous. There is no reason to act like that. Learn how to interact with people!!!! Do your job in a respectful way and maybe people will respect you more! What about people like me on a schedule?? Not only was my massage ruined but I was late to pick up my daughter. My massage therapist was shaky and traumatized from their intrusive behavior and she kept apologizing to me. No business should have to go through that with customers inside. It's not right...surely there is a better way to do your inspection. I hope Dublin police take a look at their policies and how to better communicate with people. They could use some education..or maybe they are just trying to make up for their little tiny penises!! Based on the reviews below, I'm not the only one who have had this complaint. "Megan" the lady who answers the phone when you call the Dublin Police station is one of the most unhelpful people I have met. She is extremely rude and condescending and has a "blame the victim" attitude. Instead of pointing me in the right direction and giving me options, she refuses to give me options if I don't file a police report right away. It's like she almost wants the drama to happen. I'm looking for ways to avoid it. I have dropped off cookies at the station for the officers before as a sign of gratitude for their services to the community and I have encountered this lady before. It's not that she's having a bad day, more like she's having a bad attitude for life. People like this should not be working front desk at public organizations. read more

Unfortunately I had to call them once, due to a neighbor having a raging party, including him standing outside yelling at his friends, "Dudes, shut up, you'll wake up the neighbors," and his friends hooting and hollering with glee. I was living in a trilevel then, and I could hear the music and partying on every floor, and they woke up me, husband and dog on the 2nd floor, and guest on the 3rd floor. Around 3am we finally had it and called the police, as we didn't want to confront drunk assholes. The police arrived by 3:10 am, chewed out the drunks, and told them to go to bed and stop being idiots. We finally were able to get back to sleep around 4am. When we had an identity theft situation (our federal and state tax returns), they were mostly helpful in getting the report and paperwork done, although they did make a few mistakes. The particular officer my husband worked with seemed a little put out that he had to deal with something this stupid, but had we not done the report we would have been screwed when in the 11th hour of getting our mortgage the fraudulent tax return came up, and by supplying the copy of the police report we were able to proceed with escrow and closing. They also got called to the dog park I went to, due to stupid arguments, people getting upset that dogs barked at them as they walked around the park, and they always handled these idiotic calls with grace. Overall, I'm happy with their service and appreciated their presence in the community. read more

Was just a victim of blatant bullying by a male officer whom I won't name (partially out of fear, to be honest). I am new to Dublin and was driving home from Target with my two little ones in the back seat when this bully pulled me over for literally no other reason than to yell at me. I didn't receive a ticket because he had no reason to give me one. This blatant abuse of power and bullying just because he can is absolutely atrocious. I am appalled at the example he set for police officers in front of my children. This man is not an officer I would trust. He is not an officer that I would ever call for help. Upon returning home, I made sure to explain to my girls that his actions and behavior were 100% inappropriate and wrong, and that police officers are not supposed act in such a way. It is bullying and behavior like this that is becoming too common in America. Our police officers are meant to serve and protect, not bully innocent citizens just because they can. It's a really cruddy job during the holidays when the men and women of the department want to be with their family but are with yours because Uncle Morty got drunk at dinner and threw a punch at Billy. Tried to avoid getting rear-ended by a reckless driver using the only space available: the fast track lane. Reckless driver continues to weave through traffic at high speeds, but guess who is pulled over for being in the fast track lane for 5 seconds and not having their fast track pass obviously placed? I want to think the officer was doing his best, but the choice to pull me over than someone endangering others on the road creates an implication that protecting their funds is more important than protecting the public. read more

Dublin has one of the police departments that have no regard for one's civil rights.I have had two encounters with them and a petite blonde officer was involved both times.A friend was pulled over and told the sticker on his license plate was the wrong month which was not true and charges were dropped in court.During this stop the officer got driver's license then asked me for ID.i simply asked why as I did nothing wrong .The blonde cop then preceded to tell me they could yank me out of the car and arrest me but the Male cop cut her off and said he had it under control.The driver was given a ticket and told he could thank me for it since I refused to show ID. The second incident the same blonde cop was disrespectful to a distraught elderly lady yelling at her to shut up.These cops have no business as public servants and abuse the authority the brave been given to harass for no reason. read more

I have lived in Dublin 11 years and lately it feels like this town is being taken over by the Gestapo. I've had police show up for my baby crying, the sheriff for my dog barking. I've been profiled, pulled over, and harassed, without receiving one ticket. My 5-year old son was taken out of the car and questioned about his car seat. They send out officer Alizio to patrol the schools every morning, and all he does is go after the parents. Some of the officers are very cool guys and they all deserve credit for keeping Dublin gang free and a nice place to live. But chief McCarthy, please tell your hardcore officers to take it easy on the GOOD people in town that you are protecting and serving. It seems the department is making a lot of money off the minor infractions given to the parents in this community every day. read more

I had to call them when a truck hit my car on the side where my toddler was sitting (yes with my toddler in the car). The phone operator simple said "oh sorry that happened, but we are short staffed and can't send someone" "call back on Monday to file a report." What a joke of a police station this is! Officer Mensinger is one of the worst officer that we had encountered with. Our neighbor was having a great time partying hard into the wee hours. We called Dublin dispatcher to have an officer out here to stop the loud music. Officer Mensinger (He is bald, young and semi-short) knocked on my door after talking to the neighbor and started yelling at me for making him drive all the way to this neighborhood just to stop the music. He said that's something I could have done myself. WTF? There is a reason why I called your service, or lack of. I didn't want to deal with the drugs, music and all the low lives. Officer Mensinger of Dublin Police Dept must have the Napoleon syndrome. He is really good at scolding and horrible at protecting. read more

Hilarious. Two other reviewers gave one star reviews - one for doing something illegal, for which he got a ticket. Another from someone who showed up while the administrative office was closed and was upset the officers on duty would not leave patrol to come help with a form? I'd like to say as a Dublin resident I've had nothing but positive interactions with the police department - and that includes being written up for a stop-sign violation. Dublin police are most kindest officers I have ever encountered. People complain about cops, but guess what? When you need help, they arrive within minutes and very professional, helpful and down to earth. I have the utmost respect for our Dublin officers. Lets try to be less uptight with the call in reports please. A 5250 code does not HAVE TO APPLY if an ID theft network is using someone's Stolen ID AS a spy app phone networking motif. It doesn't mean the ID THEFT victim is nuts. It's ID theft. The phones are described on www.phonespector dot com If sex offenders and ex felons can download spy app phone software and eavesdrop on your kids at the library, passing the mental buck to someone else's ID so they can use it for THIRD PERSON cellular soliciting and networking, the guy whose ID is being used is no nut if those using his ID are sex offenders. Precognitive sex offenders that already "know why they're tapping people's Facebook, internet, and cell accounts," using these phones, are not psychics. They're still sex offenders. Even at Lake Herman if they're using the Zodiac LOGO as a cellular motif for bootlegging and networking. It doesn't have to work if they are, does it? Sex offenders and credit card theives, using voice throwing, in the computer lab of the local library, to pass the mental buck for networking on the cell phone with someone's stolen ID, although it has nothing to do with me, are still sex offenders and ID Theives, right? OF course! Then, therefore, this is to be viewed as a cell phone user's THIRD person version of the same type of criminal behavior, except that one is expected to question ones judgment upon observation of the same as it goes down for the drug deal on the street corner. I would like to sincerely thank Officers Holden and Parker for their excellent and professional police skills. They were professional and polite in their approach to an unfortunate situation. Dublin Police Department is probably one of the best in the nation. I had to report my wallet lost/stolen and office Gary gathered the details, expressed genuine concern and documented the report in a very professional manner. The people that work in the office and a bunch of idiots. They are so rude and unprofessional. It's amazing! As a respected business owner of the community I have watched them treat people do rude. I have filed a police report for check fraud over 4 months ago and I have heard nothing from the detective who was suppose to contact me. I have waited forever in the waiting room for the dumb girl in the office to look it up. They have no other people to help yet they take forever to do anything. read more

I really resent being lied to by dispatch. I called in and asked if begging on private property was allowed. The answer was , "No.". I then proceeded to describe the begging woman and her hacking kid out in the cold of January. When she asked for more detail I mentioned the woman's colorful hijab. She said they would. One out so I waited a bit away in my car. As if 35 minutes--no one showed up. Guess some people are protected? I will make a sign and go beg in a week or two to test this theory.Wake up taxpayers. read more

The dublin police are a tad bit over zealous out of sheer boredom, because the crime in dublin is really low compaired to most of the cities in this region. They feel like they have to compete with other cities police officers for arrest, therefore they are stopping anybody for the smallest infractions to feel like they worked hard or made just as many arrests as oakland, or San francisco or even Concord PD., Dublin PD needs to call a spade a spade and admit that its less crime around here so yeah its more time to just sit in cars or polish up their motocycles :-) instead of giving people tickets for not enough air in a tire, or a right turn too close to the curb, ashing a cigerette out a passenger window, i could go on and on, anyone who doubts this information whenever you have a free moarning i suggest you go to the courthouse in Pleasonton and sit in court and listen to peoples charges or infractions and surely you will be amazed at things Dublin police officers give tickets for, makes me extra happy to be a middle aged white woman :-) read more

Being involved in a police situation in a foreign country can be stressful but thanks to their constructive approach we settled the issue properly and easily. Two occasions that proved Dublin police officers are too focused on polishing their vehicle and wandering around, slacking off, instead of doing their job. Dublin police station was closed at night when I had to pick up a form from them to recover my stolen car. It was incredibly hard to find a parking there since they set it up like a maze. They had this phone outside the main entrance that calls to the dispatch office in case the office was closed. The fishy part was during the phone call, the dispatch told me that all the police officers were busy at the time and it'd take them 25 minutes to come service me. Mind you, Dublin isn't crime ridden and there's no excuse to say all the Dublin police are too busy to help someone at the station. I had my car stolen before at night in one of the worst parts of San Francisco and I was able to get helped by an officer in less a few minutes. So after waiting for several minutes, I saw a police officer on a motorcycle pulled up to a police garage, and I thought he was the officer that the dispatch had sent over to the station, so I tried to get his attention. Unprofessionally, and like a typical lazy police, he just polished his motorcycle, ignored me and shut the garage door. So I called the dispatch again and she told me to go next morning in an unprofessional way. To all Sheriff's Deputies and Officers at the Dublin Sports Grounds July 4, 2013, I would like to commend you all and thank you for the opportunity to light fireworks in the parking lot July 4th. The entire event was very well supervised and the officers present were very friendly and helpful, intervening as needed and allowing all to have an enjoyable Independence Day celebration. As more and more jurisdictions are banning these types of activities due to the inherent risks involved, it is nice to see that Dublin and Alameda County have found a way to allow citizens to express their patriotism and also to support worthwhile non-profit associations in a safe and enjoyable way. My son and I joined many other families for an unforgettable evening. Thank you for providing the excellent personnel and resources for a true American holiday. read more

They seem to just be here in Dublin to give tickets all day, I had a bike stolen from me and knew where it was and they didn't want to do anything about it because it wasn't valuable enough:(. They do come when you call them about rowdy neighbors though,which is more than I can say about other PDs. Basically Dublin is pretty safe so they try to make money by giving nit picky tickets. Lots of speed traps on Dublin blvd, and San Ramon rd here. Even though I gripe about this though I do realize they have a job to do and it is a risky thankless career. Man I'm wish there was a no star option availble. I have a custody order by signed, stamped, and sealed. My daughters mother went on vacation without notification and never picked up our daughter. I called the police in order to get a police report on a custody violation. The judge explicitly ask that there be police reports made in order for there to be proof. About how my daughters irresponsible in following the court order. She has violated our court orders over the years well over 315 times. I had two officers show up on April 5th, 2016 Officer S.Pearson Badge #1867 and S.Holden #1709. I explained that my 6 year old daughters mother didn't show up on Sunday April 3rd at 7pm as ordered. She told me she was going on vacation and wouldn't pick her up. This is a clear violation to what is decreed on the litigation made by the the superior court of Hayward. They didn't want to see my order and refused to make a police report. They said they would give me a event number. FYI event number just contain the name of the person who called and where the incident took place with no notes. They stated there Sargent La Pearl Badge #1226 told them they didn't need to make one. Long story short they never made a police report. In addition I talked to the Sargent asking why a report was not made. She retorted to me what I said incorrectly. I asked how I can get that information corrected she said I couldn't. The entire time on the phone I was talked over, not listened to, and not aloud to talk or ask question. This has happened to me countless times more than I can count. This is just my most recent in counter but I have stories you wouldn't believe unless you were there. I have been a resident in Dublin for over 20 years and never been treated with decency or respect by the Dublin Police Department! read more

In the middle of the night someone claiming to be my neighbor tried to break the lock on the front door and get into my apartment. The Dublin police arrived within minutes, and called me once they were outside my door to tell me it was safe to open the door. They then patrolled the complex. I occasionally still see them make their rounds here. Thank you for helping me feel safe. read more

I was given a ticket for yielding, not fully stopping, at a stop sign near the Dublin BART station on my pedal bicycle. The officer who gave me the ticket had been cherry picking around the Dublin BART station in the mornings for multiple weeks before and after my incidence. During our interaction, the police officer was demeaning. He laughed at me when I said that I did not know that you needed to make a full stop on a bicycle (I'd only been biking in California for about a month at this point), and at the end he compared me getting killed by a car to a pile of paperwork. Less than a week later, I saw a man biking chaotically near an intersection in Dublin and a female police officer witnessed this and did nothing more than shout out her car window to the man. No ticket was issued. This man was biking without a helmet, going the wrong way, and ignoring traffic lights. My conclusions from these two incidents is that there is either an utter lack of consistency in police officering in Dublin, CA or these police officers racially and economically profile people. Someone who they think looks like they can afford the ticket gets the ticket. A few weeks after these incidences, I was biking to BART and approached two other Dublin police officers leaving an apartment building when the aforementioned police officer turned on his siren to chase down a car entering the BART parking lot. The two police officers leaving the apartment building were laughing to each other and one officer commented that that area was good for business in the morning. I have yet to see a single incidence of decent police officering in Dublin, CA. These police officers seem to think that this whole job is a joke, they clearly feel that they are above the law and can break laws at will (turning on lights just to get through intersections, ignoring posted speed limits, etc), and they are highly incompetent. I was given misleading information from my police officer about needing to take traffic school and he misspelled my address on my ticket, which was clearly typed on my driver's license, such that my official paperwork never arrived in the mail. If you have the luxury of choosing to live elsewhere, I highly recommend it. I've lived in 5 states and these are the worst police officers I've ever seen. read more

This department is so professional and quick! Within 15 minutes an officer was at my door to advise me on legal issues even though it was a civil issue. Also, a few months ago my toddler picked up a cigarette butt that kids from the local high school were leaving around on our street during lunch time. I called to ask for them to shoo them back to school and an officer was here within minutes. Thank you Dublin PD! read more

Can the Dublin Police stop harassing the San Ramon residents by always parked in a hidden place around speed traps on that street that is Bollinger Canyon in San Ramon?! Stop milking San Ramon residents! That area should be 45 MPH, NOT 40 MPH! San Ramon residents beware-Dubin PD can give you ticket for whatever reason, and the judge at Fremont Hall will back them even if they have no radar print out nor any firm evidence that you did violate the law. Claim of "visually estimated" is enough to have the judge claim you guilty. Very corrupt county and city, Dublin is! If you are a minority, especially, Asian or Indian, be even more aware, they love to ticket you because they think you can afford it! read more
