There doesn't appear to be any security, and the area gets very dark, empty, and isolated-looking in the evening. There are at least two designated homeless parking facilities in San Jose that also provide services, food, case management, and so on. At the very least, if the Cambrian Community Center is going to permit all this going on in the parking lot, they should provide additional security and lighting.

They said they don't have lifeguards then. I also wish they had early morning swimming like 5 or 6AM and a hot tub. Other pools have that stuff but they can be very, very expensive and this community center is more reasonably priced for a budget-conscious person. The front desk people were nice, although there was a wait when I went there. I didn't see any homeless people when I was there. I've only been there once though.

I'm 5 months pregnant and he was happy to help me bring out some extra tables while I waited for my helpers to arrive. The party ran smoothly and we had zero issues. I would recommend this place for birthday parties. The hall holds up to ~200-250 people I think. Pricing is reasonable compared to other places around the Bay Area.

This review is for my recent experience at the pottery studio…read more I was ostracized when I confronted a hypocritical and nosy Karen over her instigating criticism on my clean-up. I calmly told her that "If you criticize my clean up, you have to clean it for me." My polite way to ask her to mind her own business. She went berserk and told me off to the studio guy E, accusing me of being rude while she was the one who crossed my boundary. Being a poor mediator, the guy sided with her without investigating. That was because he spied on my clean up in the past too, which was uncool! It made me uneased. I felt picked on. His behavior of one-sidedly consoling the bully, instead of remaining neutral was off putting. There's a constitutional right of "freedom of movement " that no one shall obstruct your free choice. I was glad I stood up for myself. Clay, no matter how careful you are with, will be inevitably left a few traces in the sink, and it is not a big deal. Everyone does it and everyone has his/her way of cleaning. No need to nitpick and be pathetic. To be bullied and snitched by someone who thinks she has the right to tell others what to do is disheartening. Pottery making shall be a peaceful time to create without being disturbed. To instruct people what to do as if acting as a social warrior puts a damper on freedom and creativity. They should put a sign next to the sink, that reads, "Please mind your own business when cleaning, as people like to be left alone." The entire community center is funded by tax payers' dollars, government-operated meaning it's run differently than privately-owned ones, and is more authoritarian in my opinion. As a paying customer, I'd like to access to my creative outlet without being disturbed yet my experience was tarnished by busybody commie control freak and a biased worker. I don't meddle with other's business and others should not meddle with mine. I also found some of their instructors controlling. They need to respect personal autonomy. Clean up is a very personal thing. If everyone does exactly the same thing, they can move to North Korea. It was a dissapointing experience. Move on to other options for my creative pursuit.

A few years ago, we were searching for a…read morechurch that could help our family grow -- one our kids would love, with a good kids ministry where they'd learn, thrive, and feel comfortable (my youngest daughter is very attached), and one where my husband and I could grow in our faith and be spoken to at our level. The kids and I were nervous on our first day, but I'm happy to report that after four years, the entire family enjoys going to Echo Church. All our kids love the kids ministry -- including my attached daughter. She enjoys going to church, dancing on stage, and reporting back to me everything she's learned, how God loves her (it's SO sweet), and all the crafts she made. That alone tells me we found the right place. I'd describe Echo as a very modern church -- they adapt well to the fast-moving Silicon Valley environment. They're fun, but they also dig into deep subjects that are 100% relatable. A personal story: I've been a Christian almost all my life but never got baptized until I came to Echo. Somehow, Pastor Sarah, through one sermon, explained in her own words why baptism matters -- and after years of fighting it, it was like God spoke through her. Another sermon of hers moved me to forgive someone I'd held so much anger toward, someone I had decided never to speak to again. That's the kind of impact this church has had on me. They offer multiple morning services plus an early afternoon one, so it's easy to find a time that works. I love this church and all the amazing things they're doing for the community and the world -- their love for God and the community shows in great volumes. I appreciate all the time the staff spends making everything engaging, from the materials to the fun outreach programs. Thank you to all the staff at Echo Church!
