BEST colonic(s) EVER. Scared and scarred by my first colonic in Brooklyn over a year ago, I was quite wary of coming in to make my- errrr backside vulnerable yet again. Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the home-like environment from the moment you walk in and take off your shoes with the pleasant smell of soy candles burning. After filling out a detailed description of my lifestyle (hobbies, activities, food consumed, bowel movements, etc), I was greeted by my therapist, Anna. She was quite cheery for so late in the day and I was probably a bit grumpy from juice fasting. I noticed how lovely her complexion was and how interested she was in my health and why I was here. She wasn't trying to push me to buy another colonic or pressure me to go out of my comfort zones but only made gentle recommendations, which I truly appreciated and respected her guidance through my experience. Months later, I did end up buying a package of three and just had my second colonic at SanaVita (with Anna)! It was quite different from the first, but that's because my body was at a different point, coming home from 20 days in Europe eating what ever when ever. The toxins that came out and the way my body reacted was absolutely incredulous. At SanaVIta, they truly respect the body and appreciate it. Much like a yoga class, they honor where your body is in the moment. For everyone that wishes the price could be cheaper, I understand your wishes, but I believe that for the service, the treatment and for the organic and natural products they use, it is well worth it. read more

What an amazing experience! I did the Colonic Hydrotherapy (purchased a groupon). It was wonderful, while I didn't lose 10 pounds off the bat, I did gain much more of fruitful experience. Bella did more than just provide a one time colonic experience, she also gave me nutritional advice and guidance to be successful after the Colonic. I appreciate the time she spent with me, because lets be honest having someone clean your colon and watch what comes out with you, is definitely more invasive than a Brazilian wax. You have to trust them, and you have to know that you are not being judged or else you will not release and be comfortable. Right off the start Bella provided that, I felt so comfortable speaking with her, and was able to be honest in our chat. My hydrotherapist today was Honey and she was very informative and did her best to make me feel very comfortable. I enjoyed the warm table and everything seemed to go okay. It was much shorter than what I thought it would be considering I paid 157$ (only lasted about 35 minutes total) I received a small sip of water and a pill which I'm assuming is the pro-biotic mentioned below but did not receive an electrolyte drink - here is the website blurb that says we should expect that: "After the session, the colon hydrotherapist will give you an electrolyte drink filled with trace minerals to replenish lost electrolytes and a pro-biotic to help replenish the healthy flora (good bacteria) that was lost during the Colonic. And then you're finished." Was also surprised to hear that they expect a tip for this! It's incredible what people are expected to tip for these days. We are paying for a service and we receive a service. Most of the time tips are associated with positions that are dependent on them to thank them for going the extra mile to provide said service promptly & efficiently. I wouldn't consider colon hydrotherapy something that should be completed *prompt* necessarily and it MUST be efficient - you're sticking a tube up someone's rear ! Yea.... so after spending 10 days in London eating insistently with no regard for fruits and vegetables, it was definitely time to get serious about this colonic that's been on my to do list for 18+ months. I was very nervous about selecting a location to do a colonic. For one, the price. I have periodically stalked the various deal sites but most places that offered deals had horrendous reviews and given the... nature... of the procedure, I was not going to take any chances. But after my trip from London, I decided to eat the full cost and pull the trigger. SanaVita had the best and most reliable reviews (we Yelp veterans know how to spot the sketchy non-filtered reviews), so I made an appointment. In advance of my appointment, I received an email with advice on what to eat and not to eat in the few days prior to your colonic. They highly recommend a juice cleanse. I had one juice the day before, but didn't go all in, just ate light. The day of. Everything went very smoothly (no pun intended). My technician (is that the proper word?) Honey was very nice and made me feel at ease. She was also very knowledgable, warm and easy to talk to. Given the ... nature ... of the procedure, I thought that was very important. I'll spare you the details, but there was a lot of old stuff that needed to get out that did get out. The filing portion was a little uncomfortable, and things get a little unnerving as your body gears up to release from your system. It was a very strange feeling, but not painful and not unbearable. The water pumping is accompanied with a relatively soothing abdominal massage and hot stones under your feet. The service was $157, plus tip. When I paid for my service, there was no hard sell for me to consider packages or other services, which I liked, but I definitely would have bought something if prodded. I felt way better afterward and things appear to be working order. I would highly recommend SanaVita for a colonic. I intend to return and try some of their other services. read more

I have been going to SanaVita and been seeing Bella Garrison as my health coach and for colonic treatments. I could not be any happier to have met Bella! My health has been on the extreme low for the past three years at least, as l have been suffering from chronic fatigue and bloated stomach amongst other symptoms. I have tried many different paths to try and get better, but with no luck. After l met Bella it has become clear how to programme my diet and supplements in order to get well! I thought l had candida overgrowth, which is now clear that I in fact do have, and with Bella's advice l am already feeling so much better! This is the biggest relief. Love this place. I was looking for ionic foot baths which are hard to find here and they have a very good price on them. The staff is very nice, Easy to talk to, and knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to trying the lymphatic drainage massage they have. It uses a different system then anything I've tried in the past. Must check them out. read more

I was so excited after reading all the reviews but I really wasn't impressed. My last colon hydrotherapy experience was at a different place about 2 years ago. It was so much better. The machine was free flowing (open), not requiring me to have to determine when things would be going in or out. It felt more relaxing and natural.The woman was also much more engaging. Sanavita is really nice inside with great aromas and a wonderful atmosphere but the actual process felt like I was giving myself an at-home enema. I don't know if it was the time of day that I went but it felt very impersonal. It was timed in such a short time frame that I hardly feel it was worth it. This is besides the discomfort I was feeling because I was filled with lots of air =( Maybe it is just me but I won't go here again. read more

She is professional, intuitive, keen, present and so knowledgeable about health, healing and raw foods. I had my first colonic ever at Sana Vita in 2008. For an unpleasant procedure, the hydrotherapists here make it as comfortable and pleasant as possible. I love the holistic approach about their practice. When you step into the center, you are definitely seemingly miles away from the hustle and bustle of NYC. The space is very clean and there is a feeling of centeredness, if I may. Additionally, there are calming, relaxing aromas surrounding every area. All of the therapists that I've had were wonderful. They were gentle, thoroughly explained the procedure of flushing the colon, and helped me to relax. I have yet to try a consecutive series of colonics but this may be the most effective in ridding most, if not all of the waste buildup, resulting in a flatter tummy and overall feeling better. On my most recent visit, I was curious as to what type of pound-shed could happen after a session. I had the colonic done in the evening and weighed myself the following morning on an empty stomach. I actually dropped 4 lbs. But this doesn't mean much, especially since weight fluctuates so often based on time of day, food intake, bowel movement, hormonal changes, etc. Other than the super pricey cost which is in line with their location and facility amenities, the only thing I will say about this place that I don't love is the fact that all of my favorite therapists end up leaving the practice. I went to see Bella this week for my second colonic. She's extremely knowledgeable on health, nutrition and supplements to improve your digestion. Both visits she gave me really great tips on things to do to improve my ailments. A few months ago I came to see her for the first time with my boyfriend. My boyfriend was very nervous and Bella was so gentle and patient with him. She really cares about her clients. I've been doing enema's for a few years now and noticed how much they relieved my muscle pains while my body was healing from knee surgery. My first time getting a colonic. To be honest, I was scared shitless. Everyone had a different opinion about the experience. So to add to your fear - here is my experience. First of all, it is not as weird as you imagine. I would say it is as comfortable as getting a Brazilian wax for the first time. Some one is very close to your business and you are going to feel very uncomfortable the whole time but so glad you went through it. For me, nothing dirty or gross happened. My coworker said I would want to go home and take shower immediately and just sit on the toilet but I actually went out to dinner with friends right after. So I think the experience is different for everyone. But having said that, do not fear. It really is not as gross and weird as you think. read more

I had a Colonic with Vivian and it was fantastic! She is so very nice, made me feel very comfortable, kept asking me how I was doing and easy to talk with. The place is clean, zen and the staff is very nice. my only reservation about SanaVita is that colonics are $155 when most in NYC are $90-125. They offer packages but how many people can drop $600 - $1000 to reserve 5-10 colonics these days? If it were more affordable, I'd book more appointments. read more

After doing the Blueprint juice cleanse, I went into Sanavita for my first colonic ever. My technician was Bella, and she could not have been more professional, friendly, gentle, and competent. She set me at ease right away and made it all seem very matter-of-fact, and not awkward. The atmosphere is calming, and everything is super-clean; I really felt like I was in a doctor's office. As for the colonic itself--well, it is weird. But not painful. I didn't look at what came out, but boy, did I feel it; pretty amazing how much stuff is still in your colon even after days of cleansing. Every time Ive walked in to Sanavita, ive walked out feeling better! I have tried a variety of their services from the colonic, to the biofeedback, to even the ionic footbath and I can tell you whatever it is I get done there i ALWAYS feel much better after and I see results! Great first experience and already booked my second appointment. The place is clean and the staff is friendly. I was nervous going in but Honey did a great job making me feel relaxed and at ease, she was so nice and understanding the whole time, she gave me insights of the process and tips for my next appointment. I am very specific about cleanliness and this place has 5 stars for sure. It is not the most modern office but it has just what you need in a clean and friendly environment. Conveniently in front there is a great health store where you can get a green smoothie after the process and probiotics. i had colonic at this places many many times. the booking process is always easy and very accommodating, the price is standard nyc, the location is easy to find. the reason for 3 stars? i had colonic at this place with multiple therapists some are horrible and some are so nice. honey and cathy are very good and i really enjoy my sessions with them. others that i didn't mention were not good. my session sometimes are very short. 30 mins max and i barely felt like i got it done. so , i think it depend on who you book the session with. try honey or cathy and you will not be dissappointed read more

You have to question if you're really right off of 3rd ave when you are in this place. It's calming and relaxing and everyone has soft speech. You can walk in as flighty as a fairy but after an experience there, you walk out completely grounded and at ease. I recommend Anna. They explain everything and answer all your questions patiently.. The owner Arul is incredibly nice and sweet and will bend over backwards to make her clients happy I will go back as much as I can. I have been going to Sanavita a few times a year for the past 6 years. Over the years I've NEVER had a colon hydro therapist I did not like. In fact they have all been great. Everyone there is calm and caring, and has made a relatively uncomfortable treatment very barable. I always feel so much lighter and better when I leave. I have been seeing Judit lately and she is awesome! I do search around for groupons, because these treatments are pricey, but I never feel comfortable going somewhere new. I have only ever had as effective treatments in L.A for $80. My only complaint would be that they should give long time clients a loyalty discount! read more
