I've been taking my kids here for years. We love this place an will continue recommending to friends and family. This has been here for 25 years. My grandparents both came here so now I take my kids for check ups etc. It is a great place. It's great for clinic and primary care. They take most insurance. My grandparents who are in their late 80s are on medi and come here as well As far as a good primary care you can trust this is the place hands down. I'd give zero stars if I could. My parents have been coming here 10+years and I know for certain the quality of care has gone down. The staff is lazy and careless. I put in FMLA paperwork for my mom, and was told I'd be charged $10 for the signature and it would take 3-4 weeks. So I waited 3 weeks and started following up by phone. I was told the paperwork was ready so I asked my dad if he could pick it up. Once I got it, it was dated a few days after I dropped it off. So it had been sitting there for 3 weeks, with all my contact info on a post it, but the staff never bother to do their job. So last week my dad went in with a slight fever - he was starting to get a cold - and they refused him care. They told him to go to the ER. I've lost all confidence in Dr Kumar and anyone else who works there. It's a prescription mill and they just make money off working class people. read more

Whenever I need an appointment I get it within a week but even when I walk in I'm seen a reasonable time. I especially want to point out the front staff, Mari. My review has been a long time coming. I understand where the positive reviews are coming from. Most positive reviews are directed towards their care with the doctors. And I could agree. My mom has been seeing Dr.Kumar for years. As did I before aging out of my parents insurance, which I am so thankful for now. My low review comes from their office staff. Like the other reviews mention. They don't care about you as a patient. I've never witnessed them being nice to anyone. To start, when you arrive to check in, no one even acknowledges your presence. You have to figure out how to sign in on your own and who knows when they'll check you in. I once went on my lunch break to pick up an authorization form for my mom, who my mom had called for in advance for and they let her know it will be ready for pick up by the time someone got there to pick it up. When I arrived I let them know what I was there for and they asked me to have a seat and they'll let me know when it would be ready. I sat down I waited for a whole hour. Once I realized they weren't going to be considerate of my time I decided to let them know I would be coming back at a later time since I couldn't wait any longer. As soon as I said that to them, they all of a sudden handed me the letter. I realized it was just sitting there the whole time. My younger brother has problems with his blood pressure, he too used to come here. He would come in for routine appointments or appointments that had nothing to do with his blood pressure. And would obviously wait to be seen for hours even with appointment and his blood pressure would consequently be really high. Now his appointment would be about controlling his blood pressure versus what he actually went to be seen for. I get it blood pressure is important and it should be controlled, but I also think waiting to be seen for hours had something to do with the spikes in blood pressure. I don't know I've just seen how poorly they treat people, some elderly too, people who can't advocate for themselves and it isn't fair. They are mean girls are not in the profession to care for people but instead do it for a pay check. Please look at the other negative reviews because people are not wrong. Please consider taking your elderly parents elsewhere or if you're parents of young kids, they won't care. read more

I've been a patient of this place for a good six years now, it's by far the worst clinic that only benefits from the fact that it's difficult finding anywhere else with my insurance. The problem? The office staff. I don't understand the five stars here that claim the staff are great or wonderful. I'm not sure what twilight zone episode they stepped into but if you're in need of medical attention within the week get ready for a tug of war between you and some of the least accommodating or empathizing staff members ever to have graced South Gate. It's as if you're supposed to predict when you're sick, that way you can plan your appointment way in advanced that in no way inconveniences the short-staffed, short-tempered workers there. You might as well look somewhere else even if it's miles away. I've had enough. Good/decent service should begin the minute someone walks into that door or makes a call, you'd think someone there would get the memo. The office staff here are so grossly incompetent and unprofessional that making a simple appointment turns into an endless stream of excuses from the staff on why certain days are unavailable. I understand the clinic can get full and they can get backed up, sure, that happens. However, that's no excuse for the hostility and lack of empathy they subject anybody desperate enough to get treatment there. Either way, like I said earlier, you'll probably have to get your appointment a week in advance. You just have to wander around sick until either you get better and have the appointment be redundant or you get far worse and just go to urgent care because the situation is now...well...URGENT. Know what would have solved that? Seeing the damn doctor. It's clear this place has poor management skills, service-wise and time-wise. Perhaps I'm overreacting? Maybe. But from six years forward I have not once seen anybody look me in the eye and offer me decent service. Along with that they assume you know how THEY work, YOU have to accommodate THEM. When you walk in, sign your name on the clipboard on the desk! Goodluck if you're new and have no idea what you're doing! Seen plenty of people sit and naively think they'll be treated decently and actually noticed. You won't even get acknowledged by the staff until your name is called and it's time to fork over your co-pay! Getting an order of medicine from the doctor? Just sit in the lobby until they call your name! Don't you dare walk up to them and ask them what's next! Make sure you sit in eyesight though, Marianne and Maria don't have any sense of object permanence and will forget you're there. I've been put on hold for 15 minutes over the phone just to set up an appointment. I shit you not, they forgot about me. Hung up and called again only to be put on hold AGAIN. Goodluck seeing the doctors. By the time you're appointment happens you'll either have found something better, gone to urgent care or be buried in a grave as shallow as the service that this place offers. My recommendation? Just noticed this up finally so had to review. This is a great group of local doctors that has been here for over 25 years. It's convenient, established and has great health care. This place has always been good. The doctors are attentive and honest. That's the main thing I look for in medical care. Do the doctors and nurses have experience, are they honest with the billing and prices? Some other places have higher co-pays I've noticed. Anyways here it's great and always been good. The girls in the front have always been great and so are the medical workers and doctors. With the new obamacare a lot of doctors are using the new electronic systems having issues implementing the new electronic system. It's all over news. I asked the person in the front desk about it and she just told me to wait. I eventually became upset and left. I ended up in this clinic because my insurance would charge me out of network fees to see my old family doctor. I now wish I would've just paid the extra fee. The ladies in the front desk are not only rude but they don't know anything about medical plans. I have a pretty good insurance and a HS on top of that so I rarely pay deductibles. When she ran my insurance she told me that I would have to pay $2,000.00 to see the doctor. WHAT??? She confused the crap out of me! I told her that if that was the case, why would I need my insurance in the first place. I had to call my HR rep have her explain things to me and I passed the information to her. She still insisted that I needed to pay $2k so I called my HR rep again and they did a 3 way call and explained to her the insurance with me on the line. She had no idea how to do her job, my HR rep just laughed. That was just my check in experience, I don't want to type a book so I'm just going to say that my check-up with the nurse was no better, she was rude, and did not respect my privacy. The doctor prescribed medicine before I could finish telling her what was wrong and said she would set up a follow-up appointment and only then I should tell her what else is wrong (she wanted to get rid of my cough first). When I called to cancel my follow up appointment, because there was no way I was going back, they didn't even have me scheduled yet I had a confirmation card with the date and time. Anyway I don't recommend it, horrible service, horrible staff, horrible doctors. How can you trust your health to people who are not knowledgeable in their field, don't have their s*** together, and don't want to hear your symptoms. first of all they made it difficult to schedule an appointment until my insurance had to call in to schedule, when i finally was seen i was never even seen by the actual dr but by apparently a physicians assistant. I wish I would have never even gone to this clinic because everyone there is not friendly and look like they rather be anywhere else but there. I feel like they drag out your availability for an appointment because they know if your insurance assigned you that clinic you cannot go anywhere but there. After a recent family tragedy that could have been avoided had the doctors actually cared and took the time to listen to the symptoms. if you notice on the bored none of the people checking you are Drs. they MRS. or MS. I have been suffering with back pain for years and I keep getting sent to get x-rays and never get results. Honestly I have had so many bad experiences here from the front desk to the physicians. I love doctor Sanchez office but the office manager from the Firestone office has no communication skills whatsoever. And the rest of the co-workers back here making excuses like Mariana and Maria! Josie is the office manager which I paid $20 for a letter for my attorneys my attorneys have called her everyday and they keep making excuses for her when she has been unable to call me back I stayed on phones for 20 minutes and she still has not called me back I'm highly upset my anxieties kicked into the point where I've had to take my Xanax! I've dealt with her before behind disability papers and have received the same behavior! The nurses are very lazy! They never send the medication on time to the pharmacies and when the doctor mentions that the nurses will refer the patient for other check ups they never do it! My biggest complaint is regarding the providers. Uncompassionate care and seemingly eager for extra appointments and copays. Had to jump through hoops just for a medication re-approval. Additionally, I don't appreciate being loudly asked what is the purpose of my medicine in a waiting room full of people when I've already stated the medication name. Unable to reach managers due to meetings, have to make an extra visit just to speak to one. Nursing did their best to provide care. Appreciate nursing efforts. The doctor was cold. He just looked at me and gave me a prescription. He didn't ask me questions or consulted with me personally as to what I should or shouldn't do. So when I got home I had a lot of questions that I didn't think to ask there. Since I had never experienced this type of infection I didn't know what to expect. When I went back to see the doctor again they said I had to pay for another consultation. When in reality I didn't get one to begin with. The women in the front desk didn't try helping and instead said "if you want to see the doctor you have to pay again" they knew the doctor hadn't really helped. And then the Medical Assistant in the front desk tried giving me directions/diagnosing me. As a medical assistant they are not allowed to do either of those things. Because it endangers the patient. Never going there again! So save yourself the trouble and just go to a specialist, or a place where you know you are getting the treatment of top priority. read more
