    View from our porch

We had a really good week staying in a condo here. We had an ocean view condo. The ocean side would be the ones we would stay in if we would come back. The rooms were pretty spacious and comfortably fit 4 adults and 4 kids. There is a decent little porch space. There are 3 pools on the resort. Each is different and have advantages to going to each. The main pool has a swim up bar.

My family and I just traveled from the Midwest only to find the two condos (Grace Abounds and Flip Flop Haven) we rented out completely filthy. One of them hadn't been cleaned from the prior guests (dirty laundry on the floor, poop in the toilet, etc). And the front office said a cleaning service would be out to handle it in 20 minutes on Saturday evening. No one ever showed and my family had to cram into one of the condos for the night and even that one we had to thoroughly clean (and the baby's' feet were completely black from walking around inside). The next morning we called (for the 4th time) asking about the status of the other condo as we had more family coming into town and all the 3rd party staff could tell us was that a request had been put in...Two of my family members went to the other condo to just start cleaning since we had no other choice and halfway through, a cleaning lady from North Carolina showed up. She was super nice and helped us (and we tipped her bc she was the only help we received) but overall we are extremely disappointed that the first 24 hours of our (paid) vacation has been spent cleaning and trying to talk to management on the phone. We would've stayed at a hotel had we known how ridiculous this would be.

Sanctuary at False Cape is located on the Atlantic and borders a wildlife refuge and state park that extends south past the northern border of North Carolina. There are at least 3 pools at the sanctuary, all with slightly different themes but remember that you're just a few steps away from the salty ocean waves and white sandy beach. Overall, it's one of the more relaxing beach areas since it does border a state park. There is plenty of room on the beach without feeling crowded. Definitely 5 stars.

Ok. So Sandbridge is our vacation spot for 5 years now. Each time we have stayed in other condos. We tried Sanctuary this year. Place is confusing. Very pretty and large. Many rooms to choose from. We were in building B110 Oceanfront. Parking was nice bc we use a Tule for I top of our vehicle. We didn't have to go under building and was able to find covered parking that accommodated us. Property is nice. Our condo was very nice but far from our car. If we did park underneath in garage it wouldn't have been that bad. We were one door away from elevator. But from elevator no direct access to beach. We only knew of 2 pools. One was outside our room. Nice size. People distanced. But some families just sat on chairs while their kids jumped in the pool and splashed everyone. Now I know everyone pays for vacation and they can have fun but when there is 30 people in pool (maximin 37) you should have consideration for others. No one controlled them. The other pool, we found was never opened. It did have a swim up bar but VERY tiny. Picture on advertisement did not represent. The bar needed a cleaning and update. The beach was very close but packed! Bigger facility, more people. A lot of families, young kids. 5 life guards. Our condo was ok. They had the bare minimum. Someone left milk, cottage cheese and sweet potatoes in fridge. The dishwasher wasn't emptied. Little different than I expected. The porch had millions of bugs on the wall. And old furniture probably from the beach wear and tear. Also there are red lights on porch. I guess to keep bugs away? When we were on the porch someone above us emptied there cooler filled of water. All landed on our porch. WiFi SUCKED. We couldn't call our family if we were waiting by the car and they were in condo. Some people played music late into the night after 11. We don't think we will be staying here again. Though any place you stay in Sandbridge is amazing bc of the place. Just that with the Sanctuary we weren't prepared for how big it was and how crowed.

Staying here you do have some perks they give you a complementary drink voucher for you to use during your day and it's for each day for you to get two drinks during happy hour which is from 4 to 6pm and snacks are included with that. Breakfast was well served and well prepared. They had every section to breakfast classic foods as well as if you want it it's more of like quick and simple like cereal, bread, toast, and then they have their own station of omelette where they had a chef that would prepare it based off of what you requested. The layout is very nice. I love how they gave us wristbands instead of a key card for our rooms and to use the elevator. It's very secure as well as being able to not have to carry around a hotel key to get in and out of your room as well as any other areas where it has access to it. The vibe itself for the hotel it definitely gives you like a vacation outside of your classic beach vibe because you have pools. You have an indoor pool and an outdoor pool and a restaurants. this right there called tacos and tequila. They are currently opened but I we'll highly recommend getting there during their non-peak hours, and their food is amazing. Their Baja fish taco is my favorite to get from there. They also give you the option for parking valet parking as well as parking pass, which is the overnight rate which is $25 an hour and you can go in and out of a parking lot. That's another thing I did like about that general area where the other hotels including this one is that they have a parking garage where you're not obligated to have to to get another ticket or get charged extra for going out if you needed to so I didn't think that's a good perk for me by that wants to stay and have a staycation but still has to do some type of things throughout the day. I would highly recommend going to these hotels. The room service from the restaurant option is the restaurant where you get the complementary drinks from and they are operating throughout the night even later hours and I do find that very convenient for people that like to go out like Myself and wanna have like a nice good bite or even dinner our late night dinner I got their salmon which was really good. This location is definitely a hidden gem You're kinda in your own oasis away from home, but you're in Virginia Beach because they have it set up where it's essentially like you're on a private island and you just have like the view point of the beach and they offered other enemies, including beach, chairs, umbrellas, and stuff with your say so that's also a good thing for people that want to just get away for a little bit but wanna stay in Virginia Beach so I highly recommend staying here as an option if you're looking for something that has a little bit of everything and you have nearby access to other things like the other restaurants that are in that same area.

Even though it was a quick trip, everyone felt truly recharged thanks to all the little conveniences included in our stay. Located on the Cavalier resort property, we took full advantage of the beachfront access. It was so nice to wake up and just walk out to the beach for some vitamin sea and then when it got too hot, hang out in the pool. My daughter's loved the little water loungers and spent at least an hour, pretending they were seals slipping and sliding away on an iceburg. They also had cute little activities like mermaid and pirate meet and greets that my littlest one enjoyed. Having Tacos and Tequila right next door made a quick and delicious pool lunch and the kiddos (especially my oldest) was obsessed with the made-to-order breakfast that was included in our stay. Our room was very clean and we loved having the separate living room /dining space to spread out. 95% of the staff we interacted with was exceptional. We'd definitely come again.

While we went in the off-season (November), we noticed the hotel was well-maintained and clean. The front desk staff, especially Kol and Alexia, were super friendly, helpful, and efficient anytime we needed assistance, especially when we needed to arrive later than expected during check-in. The only issue we encountered during our stay (which we did not mention to staff) was that many electrical outlets in the room struggled to hold in a plug, so it became difficult to charge devices as only a few were in the room were functional. That said, this was only a minor inconvenience and we would definitely revisit this hotel when back in the area.

I visited during off-peak season so noise and traffic wasn't too big of an issue at the hotel. I wouldn't want to stay here during the busier times in the summer. I loved how much ocean soundscapes I could hear from the 5th floor balcony. The view was beautiful and the room felt quiet. Something I super appreciated. The only gripes I had was the mandatory valet parking and the extremely low shower pressure. The sink had drainage issues too. I also ran out of towels during my overnight stay. There's no suite, dresser, or closet in the room either. So think short-term stays. I still wouldn't mind returning again in the future and wouldn't hesitate recommending the place to anyone thinking of visiting. The downstairs lobby has breakfast spot as well as a bar and coffee shop. The concierge was friendly and very accommodating. Shoutout to Alexander for making sure everything was set up just right for my visit. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

We selected this spot because…read moreit was dog-friendly and relatively cheaper (with decent reviews) compared to other pet-friendly hotels on the boardwalk. Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Once or twice, we rented it out through the resort's rental program (at a loss). Another time, we rented it out through TUG (at a small profit). The location was perfection and Judy was more than accommodating. Thank you JUDY! On 7/18/2026 Please note that for the PRICE we paid, our stay at the Comfort Inn & Suites was one of the worst hotel experiences I've ever had. This property is poorly maintained, disorganized, and has serious safety and customer service issues. The staircase was absolutely filthy and poorly lit, making it unpleasant and potentially dangerous to use. To make matters worse, only one elevator was operational for our entire stay, and the broken elevator was never repaired. There were no signs informing guests which elevator was working, so everyone had to waste time figuring it out themselves. Because of the broken elevator, we had to walk up and down five flights of stairs every single time we left our room or returned. Unfortunately, that became even more frequent because our room wasn't properly stocked. We arrived to find no towels, washcloths, or soap. The room telephone didn't work, so we couldn't even call the front desk to request these basic necessities. Instead, we had to walk down five flights of stairs to ask for them, then climb all the way back up again. The condition of the property was unacceptable. The balcony doors were rusty and filthy, trash and dirty linens were left sitting around for far too long, and there wasn't even any ice available. The most disturbing part of our stay was a major security failure. While we were sitting in our suite watching television, another group of guests was somehow given access to our room and walked right in. Thankfully, we were only watching TV, but this could have ended much worse. There is absolutely no excuse for a hotel allowing strangers to enter an occupied guest room. This hotel fails on cleanliness, maintenance, communication, and, most importantly, guest safety. Comfort Inn & Suites should be embarrassed to operate a property in this condition. I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone and will never stay here again until major improvements are made. These days money isn't as easily accessible, so if we choose to spend it at your facility, we would like to feel that it's money well spent.
