Our three-night stay in March, which was booked in November, was about $250 per night. Although there was a half marathon happening in the area, I think our rate (booked through a 3rd party) was on the lower end because March is still considered the off season. The hotel itself is quite modern compared to the other more dated hotels in the area. It definitely is geared to younger crowd (20s-30s) because of design, layout, the amount of video games, the bar with snazzy cocktails, and of course an indoor slide that goes from the 2nd to the 1st floor. For our purposes, I thought our room was fine for two adults and a dog. Compared to other places I have stayed, the room was a bit small. However, we're the type of people who only use the room for sleeping so not having a huge amount of space is not a deal breaker for us. Although our room had a partial ocean view (on the south side of the building), the view was still impressive. My spouse did have a minor complaint in that the rooms did not have a dresser or a closet, but the room has plenty of hooks/hangers where you can hang your things along the walls. Although the hotel is not in the "central" area of the boardwalk (around 21st street), it is still located in a nice section of the boardwalk that is walking distance to a wide array of restaurants, bars and other attractions. For example, the hotel is next door to the Wildfowl Museum. ;) Valet is about 11 bucks per night. In general, there were no major issues with valet services. Unfortunately, there was a minor issue in that the hotel overbooked valet parking due to an event it was hosting. However, that situation did not affect us too much with the exception of a slightly longer than normal wait. Everyone on the staff with whom I interacted were friendly and very professional. Also, I thought the cleaning crew did a great job with maintaining the hotel. Although the hotel is pet-friendly, I did not smell old/wet dog/cat odors in the common areas or hallways. If we decided to stay on the Oceanfront, we definitely will keep the Moxy in consideration.

Cons - It's not the resort's fault I didn't know there was a beach rodeo happening the weekend I was staying. This made the walking-distance beachfront a mess and I spent most of my weekend further north. As others have said, this is NOT the place to stay for a peaceful quiet weekend away. Kids playing in the pool all day long, paper thin walls, and of course bonus for me of noise from the rodeo. I heard my neighbor snoring through the wall at night. Thankfully I read ahead and packed earplugs so that was fine. I didn't want to hang out on my balcony because of the constant music & kid play coming from the pool. When we first purchased our timeshare week, we had visions of visiting Virginia Beach every summer with our kids. Then, life got in the way so we used the unit less than we had initially planned. We continue to pay maintenance fees, and were trying to figure out how best to utilize the unit on an annual basis. Sometimes, we did utilize the unit ourselves. Once or twice, friends used the unit. Once or twice, we rented it out through the resort's rental program (at a loss). Another time, we rented it out through TUG (at a small profit). About five years ago, we found VB Timeshare Rentals, and have rented out our unit every year since with them. The company has been wonderful to work with. The transactions are handled professionally, with contracts, tax forms, etc. In addition, Jessica has been a good communicator. We have made a small profit in all but one year (during COVID), but to be honest, we're relieved to at least cover the maintenance fees. The company has been great about sending the pay out check very soon after the unit was occupied. We highly recommend this company for your timeshare rental needs.
