About Face has the privilege over many of the salons due to the length of time they have been around for. I can remember them being here for the last 10 years at least, and nearly everyone (female!) I know has had at least one treatment with them. They offer a wide range of treatments such as facials, makeup lessons, manicure, pedicure, overlays, extensions, weight loss treatments, kids parties, bridal makeup and makeup lessons, gift vouchers, spray tanning, the list goes on! A nice touch also, is that they remember all of their clients at Christmas time by sending out a card. I like About Face a lot, and it would still be the salon I would consider first, out of the many salons now open in town.

They have an excellent range of treatments available, my favourites would be the spa pedicure or the back neck and shoulder massage. The treatment rooms are all lovely, clean, warm and extremely relaxing, I feel like I want to nap every visit. The massage beds are heated with lovely warm towels and blankets to keep you comfy. Perfect. The staff here are the most genuinely nice and friendly girls you could find whilst being totally professional. I love going here, would happily recommend it to anyone.

They have a spray tan system called Versa Spa which only costs £20 for a full body tan, and even better, its automated, so you don't actually have to have a therapist doing it (perfect if you are feeling less than 100% confident!) - This also has settings for just face or just legs tanning too - but I got the full body tan and it worked out great. Party packages are on offer for children, teenagers, and hen parties. They also do fab Dermalogica facial treatments, anti wrinkle injections, and semi permanent eyelashes along with the usual waxing, makeup, nails, etc.

It is set in the countryside but only a 10 min drive outside of Carrickfergus. I could have stayed there all day. Loved it and will definitely be back. They offer all kinds of treatments that you would find in spas, such as waxing, massages, nail painting, spa pedicures etc. They have a jacuzzi and sauna area too which will be up and running in the coming months. Carrickfergus now has two branches of this little shop, World of Colour (I believe there is another…read moreone in Ballyclare too) - they have a great selection of makeup, nail polish, toiletries and perfumes. They also have useful hints and tips on the shelves, stating whether this product is a good replacement for well known, more expensive brands. I got the W7 concealer which is better than Touche Eclat, and less than half the price! They also sell my favorite brand of foundation for £2 cheaper than anywhere else. To top it off the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, and they also offer a loyalty scheme.

They sell a range of brand name products for a great discount price. They also sell lots of brand perfume as well as imitation ones which smell exactly like the real deal. Brands include; Benefit, Clarins, Nivea etc. Your basic make up ranges all at discount price, great! I could spend all day in here smelling all the pretty scents and testing out all the samples of make up but I would probably end up looking like some nut job from a loony bin, so I'll resist and call in every now and again.

This branch of Superdrug opened up a number of years ago, and I would use it fairly regularly…read more As Superdrug stores go, this is probably one of the smaller ones, but they still have a great range of goods on offer They have makeup from brands such as Barry M, Bourjois, Max Factor, Rimmel, and many others. They also stock a brand called MUA who do some great eyeshadows! On top of this they stock what you would expect from Superdrug, a good range of haircare products, to include colourants and some electrical items, mother and baby, OTC remedies, skincare and fragrances (check out their offers at the tills, there are often some good ones!) Closer to the tills, there is also a small selection of sweets and jewellery. There is on street parking, but this is limited, especially at peak times! The next best place to park is the pay and display car park beside the stocks.

I have been coming here now on and off over a year or so. The main and only reason has been, to use there fantastic sunbeds. There are 2 lie down and 2 stand up ones available, so usually no wait. I had however decided to treat myself to some nails so I pre booked the appointment last week to ensure I got a time that suits. I always found the girls a little bit Stand offish previously but after today it was a completely different story. Once I got chatting to them, they where fantastic and I really enjoyed the chat. I felt very at home and relaxed. I opted for Acrylic extentions and asked for them not to be too long as it's been a while since last having them. I am really happy with the finished result and to be honest and am quite picky when it comes to my nails. Interested now to see how they last so will update on that in a couple of weeks! Good points- The salon feels spacious and open with beautiful decor. Lots of choices of nail colours on offer. Great girls and brilliant craic. They also have a good range of beauty and skin care treatments on offer at fairly reasonable prices. Bad points-One of my pet hates about any personal service though is not being introduced! I could not tell you the name of the girl that did my nails because she didn't tell me her name. Usually with most beauty salons a tea/coffee is usually offered which wasn't. There is a flight of stairs into the salon so it would not suit someone who is wheelchair bound or struggles with stairs. I have however already booked my next appointment as I was so happy with my nails and the overall experience.

I leave this review with great disappointment i attended Geraldine's beauty school for one term…read morewith very high expectations but unfortunately it was not what it was made out to be. When applying to attend i had a talk through with Geraldine were she told me everything that would happen how the days would go etc i was told we would do full days ( as i needed to no timings with having a young child for childcare) , within weeks of attending the beauty school i was sent home by my tutor after 15 minutes!! Being told " do you want to go on home i dont want to waste your time as there is nothing for you to do" i was extremely devastated as i pay for a child minder and the course is expensive to be going home after 15 minutes. I reached out to geraldine where she told me this was wrong and agreed with me. Later on i received an invoice to pay more money however i was very concerned about this as i had expressed my concerns then a bill to pay. I had planned to meet Geraldine face to face to talk about my concerns were she agreed to meet then days before she sent me an email refusing to meet as " it wouldn't solve any problems" i stated i would not be attending the beauty school as there was a lot of problems and false promises i even arrived at the beauty school to talk which i was refused. I am now out £1800 so think before attending this beauty school!!! "Contracts" signed so you basically have no leg to stand on. I later then received an email wanting me to pay the remainder of the course as that is in her contract! I myself have rights. Very very disappointed as this beauty school has such a good name.
