On the days where I would take the bus, it would invariably stop at the light or stop to pick up or drop off passengers, and I would be left clinging on for dear life hoping we would pass the cemetery before I passed out. I did this because someone told me that if you held your breathe in respect of the dead (not breathing) they (the dead) added the equivalent time back on your life. Aside from the roughly 20-22 hrs of additional time I have amassed onto my life, thanks to this cemetery, I find it to be a very beautiful one as well. Spanning 2 city blocks, its an impressively large plot, considering that it is across from an equally large Anglican cemetery. It is at two fairly busy intersection and yet within it's fenced off grounds, it can be quiet peaceful. The grounds are kept in good shape even though I never saw someone tending to the entire facility (amazing feat!).

At first glance, the funeral home is modern and quite large and the staff was professional, timely and compassionate. There were numerous chairs, sofas and flowers around with lots of Kleenex box everywhere. The decor of the funeral home was tastefully done and nothing loooked run down. The area looked well maintained and clean, in sad circumstance that people have to go through. They had multiple rooms and a huge sitting area that can accomodate even a big crowd. The sitting room had multple tables and tv's and the tv's inside that room also streamed the same clip that was being aired during the visitation and the funeral. They have two high tech coffee machines that grounds the beans on the spot for coffee drinks. The machine also offers alternative drinks to coffee such as teas and hot water. There were lots of stalls in the washroom to accomodate patrons. Parking lot is a good size, with the cemetary just behind the funeral home. It was snowing the whole day but the roads and the parking lot seemed to be well maintained. Staff made sure to assist you if you need help.

Our first contacts were Garrett Shull  and   Emma Birdseye. They came to transport my mothers body.  They were both so very respectful and caring with us all. They handled our mom as if she were their own. Elizabeth Mendoza ,our funeral arranger was our next contact.  Caring, knowledgeable, explained every step and organized everything. Made sure we had everything  for our meeting at the mortuary .  Where we met with Elizabeth and Larry LaCost assistant Manager Cemetery  and Anna Stemmer.    Again, very knowledgeable, Caring,  but the most important thing was the love and humanity.  Ron Grant, Service director gravesite, showed all the love and caring . All of us shared stories funny and sad. And Horacio Berumen , our maintenance gentleman, who opened and closed the Bench my mom and dad both rest in now,   handled  my folks and my family with the greatest of care. And I don't want to forget the lovely lady who is the receptionist, the first person we greet, . Last but not least,  Lilly Navas , as we stood and talked to say our goodbyes, I want to say again what a wonderful caring staff . One more thing, we do not thank all of our  funeral and mortuary employees.  All of you went above and beyond with covids  aftermath. Working 15 hours a day . Refitting freezer trucks for remains of our loved ones. And you still have your love, your humanity and grace . There is so much more I would like to say; all good.
