A tech had to come out to do a few additional things. Then they signed me up and started charging me monthly. They initially told me i HAD to do autopay with my checking account. Eventually I found out that was a lie and could use a credit card. So this has been on autopay for years, then all of a sudden they double charged me. Then credited it. Then put in some other charge and tried to double tax. Then cleared that. Now telling me I have a late balance. Um what? It's on AUTOPAY. They are the ones initiating the payment and still screwing it up! It seems like most of these security companies get poor reviews. I guess you are paying for (hopefully) piece of mind that they will send help if anything were to happen. If it gets to a point where I would need to do any work on this, I'd likely consider other options. Its a bit sad to me that the panel on this new build (2019) was the same panel on the house I lived in built in the early 2000s. The app is ok. Just seems like you can probably get just as good or maybe better for less money. If this is already in your home I guess it's ok, but if you are looking for a new security system I'd consider other options.
