When I got to my appointment that was the first thing I mentioned. The girl had no idea that I wanted ombre nails but she said that we SHOULD have time to do them. As I'm getting my nails done there are signs that the tech is new to doing nails. No biggie, everyone has to learn. Except when it came time for the ombre part of my nails she could not do it. I don't know if it was an experience thing or what but bottom line was she couldn't do it. I ended up with a solid color. The nails themselves came out good besides that and again I'm not faulting her cause everyone is new at some point. But the person in charge of scheduling should have scheduled Me with someone with more experience who wouldn't have had done ombre nails with no problem.

The consistency with this nail salon isn't good, I've been going here for a few months every two…read moreweeks to get a builder gel fill and a pedicure. Depending on who you get as your nail technician will HEAVILY decide the outcome on your nails, which is crazy for a well established nail salon, the consistency should be pretty much the same throughout, same quality and outcome. Some of the nail technicians cannot do a simple French tip and some of them cannot use builder gel correctly. I care deeply about my nails and the appearance of them and honestly the last two times I've gone it's been terrible. But when I get the right person it's the best so there's no in between. I'd give lower stars but not everyone there is bad. I do believe there needs to be some kind of training to establish a baseline and to grow from that baseline. Cutting corners when customers are spending hundreds of dollars a month, is just bad business and will ultimately hurt the business.

Depending on who you get, I've had my gel nails last anywhere from 2-4 weeks without chipping at all. Massages for manicures and pedicures vary based on who is performing them and how busy they are. I would definitely recommend making an appointment. Edit: this place is really hit or miss depending on who you get. Some of the employees do not listen or understand what you may be asking for. If the owner is there she will usually set things straight, but otherwise it's a bit difficult. My last appointment took 2 hours for a pedicure and no-chip, but it was because I walked in during a super busy time. I no longer live out in Illinois but I have Angie do my hair whenever I go out to visit - it's totally worth it. Within minutes of leaving the salon I got numerous compliments on my hair.
