She has lived there for years and had never done this tour, which made it feel like a bit of a discovery for both of us. We ended up at the Lotz House Museum, and it turned out to be one of those unexpectedly memorable experiences. On this particular day, we lucked out with Chuck as our guide. He is a former high school history professor, and you can tell immediately. He does not just recite facts, he brings everything to life with stories, details, and just the right amount of drama. The house itself is not large, but that almost works in its favor. Between the stories of the Lotz family and the vivid accounts of the Battle of Franklin happening right outside, you can practically see it all unfolding as you move from room to room. It is the kind of experience that sticks with you long after you leave, and at around seventeen dollars, it feels like an absolute steal. And do not skip the gift shop. Treat yourself to a peach Nehi soda on your way out. It is unexpectedly fantastic, and I am still thinking about how to get my hands on more.

Located at the southeastern corner of the Watson Glen strip mall, they offer warm cookies. But they differ from the competition like Crumbl, Tiff's Treats, Cookie Fix, et al. with a unique twist. As Bing Crosby once said in White Christmas, "Everybody's got an angle." And Dirty Dough's angle is the stuffed cookie. Nearly every version on the menu has an extra layer of filling in the middle, typically with a different and complementary flavor. There are the regulars like the Brookie (a chocolate chip cookie stuffed with caramel), and The Reverse (a peanut butter cookie surrounding a chocolate chip cookie stuffed with fudge). The Maple Bacon Pancake cookie was my favorite of the classics. Weekly specials also drift in and out, including the one that blew my mind, a little masterpiece called Bunny Bait. It's a graham cracker cookie stuffed with cheesecake filling, topped with bits of pecans, caramel, and carrot cake frosting. I'm not a fan of carrot cake, but this combined of flavors is absolutely divine! If it's in stock, get it! And to be honest, while Crumbl alleged in a widely published 2023 story that a former corporate employee of theirs defected to Dirty Dough with trade secrets, Dirty Dough does what they do far better than Crumbl. So take that!

It was baked too long and too dark and somewhat dried out. These cookies are typically known for being more on the "doughy" side, so this was a miss. I know they are newly opened, so some tweaks will need to be made. Will try again in a few months.

I've been here several times over the last 5 years and only recently had an odd experience. I love the variety of products in the store and was pleased to see that they had been moved to a larger space inside of the Factory at Franklin! When roaming the store, I would've loved to see more "Franklin" and local apparel - of course they have a good selection of items but I saw lots of "Brentwood" and "Columbia" items and not a lot of Franklin and Nashville which I think would be beneficial for them as they are in the Factory in Franklin. Usually love their young friendly staff but went earlier in the week and had an odd interaction with an older woman at the register who made a weird comment about my shirt. She also seemed to have no clue what she was doing when trying to ring me up. Her colleague had to help her but I literally stood there for 30 minutes JUST TO BE CHECKED OUT. Anyways, usually have a good experience but they are going through change and im assuming they are experiencing some bumps here and there... Either way I will be back and love this little shop dearly.

That fortunately was not a major problem for us, but was also not the experience we were expecting after making a reservation, and receiving a confirmation email encouraging us to be right on time, not early and not late. When we arrived, on time, the photo equipment was not set up. In a word, it did not feel like our appointment was a priority. Finally, the photographer did not have any props, so we were asked to hold our 6 year old child, who is not the same height as the rest of us. This was awkward and caused her shirt to ride up a bit. Photographer didn't notice or didn't mention until we were well into the shoot. Jeremy offered to digitally correct this in any photos we wanted to purchase. Unfortunately I have not been able to get in contact with him since then, and he seems to have stopped responding to emails and text messages. If we had been able to purchase a few photos, I could have given at least a 3 star review and possibly 4. We had neither the experience nor the photographs I was expecting and planning for.
