They will take your pet upon arrival to have an assessment and prognosis on the next steps for your pet. Well my baby wasn't doing well and brought her here to have a look at. I did phone ahead and they were waiting and ready upon my arrival, took my baby in immediately. Very hi tech facility with new state of the art equipment for your pet. Very friendly and compassionate staff as well as helpful. Told me to wait in the waiting room and as soon as the vet takes a look they will place me in a room where the vet will give me my options on the prognosis of my baby's ailment. Vet was very helpful and honest on the options that were given to us. If your pet needs to stay for observation you can book an appointment to have visit with your baby. By the way my baby is doing very well now. They took very good care of my baby. This Animal Hospital is new and has been at this location since August 2024. Other then emergency pet care they have a wide selection of good quality pet food. Do recommend coming here for pet emergencies. -inside is very clean and new -plenty of parking

My veterinarian submitted a full and thorough referral, including all relevant medical records, history, and lab work. Everything was done correctly on our end. I then personally spoke to a staff member at VCA Care Centre and clearly explained that we were dealing with a possible cancer diagnosis. I even asked directly about CT imaging. And yet -- despite all of that -- they booked us into the wrong department. Let that sink in. A pet with a likely cancer diagnosis... and they scheduled us with the completely wrong team because no one bothered to actually read the referral or listen to what I said. And instead of owning that mistake, they tried to deflect and blame my vet -- who did his job perfectly. To make things even more outrageous, I waited an hour and a half to speak to the manager in person, only to be met with coldness, defensiveness, and absolutely zero accountability. Not even an apology. No urgency. No plan to fix it. This wasn't a mix-up about nail trims or routine bloodwork. This is a case involving a potentially life-threatening condition, and their complete failure to act responsibly may have cost my dog valuable time. If you care about your pet and expect a specialty care center to treat urgent cases with the seriousness they deserve -- stay far away from VCA Care Centre in Calgary. I told the vet on the phone that she had the stumach flu. I said what services I needed and was told that she would have a basic visit for $75 and then we can discuss the medicine or injections to help. They took her to the back. They also, did not tell me what they were doing, and didn't let me in to see, they said they had a plan for $750. Then I said it was expensive, I had to discuss this. They went and did that they want. I heard someone talk about euthanasia, then I was asked for that and I said NO! 15 minutes pass, then they let me in. I said the $750 is fine, then they say it's too late for that now it's the $500 plan. I wanted to help her be normal from the stumach flu. At this point I had no idea what they did to Sasha. As communication was bad. I was later told they injected her with "" epinephrine" I imagined at the time it must be an antibiotic but it is not, that is to my horror 'ADRENALINE", without even testing her to see if she is allergic to this all this happening without my consent even after the phone conversation and physical conversation, doing what they want they also put foreign objects into her body by putting air support. You need my CONSENT! I had called for her "STOMACH FLU". She's NOT my first dog! and I RECOGNIZE a stumach flu! "Epinephrine is Adrenaline"a very potent drug that can kill an animal with a heart attack, Sasha was tired and weak from the stomach flu she didn't need to be jolted into a horse race!! and have her breathing messed with, or her body in any way. She is so tiny! Sasha's HEART was beating so fast when I left that she "DIED" in the car on the way to another animal hospital, I was horrified at what they had done, they killed her. They KILLED my dog. If they had any sense, they would have instead given her antibiotics, vitamin injections and saline and then putting her in an incubator to stay warm. This was my impression from the catfish $$$ phone discussion. They instead had her on a cold metal table with no warmth, causing her tiny heart to beat like a bullet, they "ULTIMATELY" performed with very reckless choices. This place, says animal hospital, well after the damage they admitted it is not equipped to help her, yet they have a big sign outside that says animal hospital. (((WHAT THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE))): (was to give Sasha antibiotics, a vitamin injection, saline and an incubator to keep her warm. Most likely an overnight stay. Also some antibiotics to take home.) THEY DID NOT HELP HER!!! they did what they wanted!!! Made some $$$ "AGAINST " my consent!!! I attatched a picture of my murdered dead baby Sasha also one of her alive so you understand what she looked like before these animals killed her. I never signed anything here, or gave permission for these extremely inappropriate actions. If they had any integrity, they would have told me the moment I arrived they were not equipped to help Sasha, and not create situations to try and justify charging me $500. They could have followed real stomach flu protocol. To give services requested, what I ask, not what they want, because it was disorganized and a secret gong show. They also said she would die, of course she was going to die after they messed with her lungs and who knows what else while they did what they want in the back and also by putting stuff in her heart with adrenaline. This was very crooked, because they had no right to do anything at all if they were not prepared as they later admitted. Sasha's tiny little heart kept beating so fast. It stopped, My little girl looked at me crying, I died that moment. Her heart stopped because of the Adrenaline from the epinephrine they injected into her without my consent. These foolish people, should have said they were not capable, but instead recklessly killed her. Earlier this year I lose my son. Sasha, was the light that kept me going. Now I have no family. I have been to Switzerland Austria Romania trying to treat it when I came home to Canada. I was in Regina trying to treat it. Nobody seemed to come a solution. Everyone told me she had no infection, but she had tons of wax pouring out. She was shaking her head a lot, scratching it a lot a lot of black, dark brown Wax coming out. I finally went back to this clinic for the first time with her and the vet tested it said it was positive with some parasites treated it, and her ears have been clear ever since I am so happy to finally have this resolved after almost 2 years of trying.

I recently became a dog owner. I had taken my cats to Crowfoot Vet for a couple years already, but…read morenot as often as my puppy needed to go. My recent experience with the reception staff and the Veterinarians confirmed my approval of this clinic. The front staff is always pleasent, the other staff always come and say "hi", giving my pup a good scratch. They have pictures up on the walls of the staff with their pets, it reassures you that they are owners too, that they love animals. There is always at least 2 dogs behind the front desk, a cat here and there. The check-up rooms are always clean. The Doctors are always thourough and talk with you about your dog, not just at you. When I had my dog nuetered I knew that he would be taken care of. He loves people and they took an interest in him, which I am sure they do with all the animals coming though there. We had no issues with his surgery, the incision looked great and healed well. Their prices for visits and shots are reasonable. The nutering was quite pricey, but we did pull out all the stops, like extra pain meds, the infamous "cone" and a microchip. They have a wall of toys for pets, as well as an extensive stock of Doctor recommended foods. I have been nothing but pleased with their treatment of my pup and their friendliness to me. I will definitely keep Crowfoot Vet as my go-to place for my pets!

We brought our dog in to have a cracked nail looked at. We initially came in for a simple nail trim…read moreand were told the vet had to do an exam, which was quoted at $60. Shortly after, we were told our dog would need to be sedated and have the nail fully removed, with a quoted cost of $680. The nail may have been cracked for a few days already and was not bleeding, not infected, and not bothering him at all. Because of this, the recommendation felt extremely excessive. Given that it was New Year's Day and one of the only clinics open, it honestly felt like we were being taken advantage of. Dr. Navdeep Singh was very cold and not personable. The interaction felt rushed and uncomfortable, and it seemed like scare tactics were being used to push us into an unnecessary procedure. We trusted our gut and declined, asking instead for the broken part of the nail to simply be clipped so we could follow up with our regular vet when they reopened. After seeing our regular vet, we were advised that they would not have removed the nail after examining it and that the proper course was simply to keep it clean and dry. This further confirmed that the initial recommendation was unnecessary. We were also told it would be $40 just to bandage the nail, which felt unreasonable for something so basic. At that point, it really seemed like every small step came with an added charge, and it gave the impression that the focus was more on making money than providing appropriate care. After leaving, we reviewed the bill and saw we were charged $110 total -- $80 for the visit and $25 for a nail trim -- which did not align with what we were initially told. At that point we just wanted to leave, but we will be calling to speak with management. Overall, the experience felt cold, overpriced, and pressured, and we left feeling uneasy rather than reassured about our dog's care. I would not recommend this clinic.

Grrrr - pretty mad right now!…read more We are just home from this vet clinic just now with our 2 indoor cats RE vaccinations and yearly check ups. On the phone a couple of weeks ago, my husband was quoted $85 per cat for check up and shots. That is what I was used to paying in another province, so we were good to go. Close to our new home, this clinic was our choice and it was our first time there today. The paperwork to be filled out was normal, took a bit but afterwards, the vet was prompt, courteous and kind to our fur babies. No complaints about his care and his availability to answer questions and talk to us. He even detected that one of our cats had a heart murmur which he was born with, without us even having told him. (OR he simply looked at our cat's history chart obtained from our previous vet in ON, hard to say for sure) What pisses me off is that the bill came to $315, almost double what we were quoted on the phone. They knew going in we just wanted the basic shots but they added another $50 for rabies (needed yes, but we figured that was in the basic cost, was just surprised) and another $80 (deworming pills - not needed). What we budgeted for is not what we paid and although they went over the bill with us at the end, they had to know we were ticked. I know that vets shaft often and that pet owners are at their mercy. BUT I encourage anyone going to this clinic to go over the costs IN PERSON prior to your pet being seen. The clinic loses 2 stars for its billing procedures. We want to keep a good relationship with them but there needs to be some accountability and professional etiquette. DO NOT allow yourself to be nagged into de-worming pills as they ask over and over again saying it is for the good of your pet unless you wish to get them. Money grab.
