The best hidden gem in middle-of-nowhere MI. My family has been going to this ice cream joint for as long as I can remember. It is always packed (especially during holidays) with lines going out the door (literally). But the ice cream is always incredible. HUGE variety to choose from with the most outrageous portion sizes. Every time you visit the flavors are different, making it a constant adventure with the ability to explore taste-wise. There is both indoor seating and outdoor seating (the outdoor tables can easily seat 10 people per table). The staff is always so welcoming of my service dog, which is refreshing. Not sure what the deal is but the take out was not good. The "chicken corn dogs" were over cooked, and the cheese sticks were just a shell the, cheese was cooked out. For the diesel, it was advertised at one cost but charged $0.10 more, however it was the cheapest around, I hope I do not regret that as much as the food. I am definitely on the fence about getting the raw meats. Would love to try I guess we will see. read more

This down home store is such a gem. We go there for everything- meat bundles, ice cream, fried chicken and catfish, you name it they have it. The friendliness is overwhelming. The building was a restaurant before store and it just has the best old time vibes. read more

Great little pit stop, has full service meat counter and a nice little ice cream shop open seasonally. They make great fried chicken and potato wedges and have 34 flavors of brats. Doesn't look like much from the outside but it's pretty neat! read more

Oh how I wish this place was near my home in Metro-Detroit!! This is a secret place my dad was giddy to introduce me to. It looks like an unassuming Marathon, then you walk into the back and it Clark Kents into this unique butcher shop. Most of the meat is pretty standard, however they have a sausage section that is beyond amazing. You can get Hawaiin, blueberry, blue cheese, red pepper, rosemary, Cajun, mushroom, brat, broccoli cheese, tomato basil, and much, much more. We ended up getting over 10 different ones just because I wanted to try them all. And were they ever good. If you are in the area this is a must stop, really unique and worth your time. read more

Ice cream was outstanding! Understand that there smallest size is like a two scoop is everywhere else!

We went in there last week and bought 2 baby cones, 3 kiddie cones and one regular malt and what should have came to $24 but was charged $37 instead. Did really think about it until we were on the way home. They were busy and the girl asked me numerous times now what did you have. So all I could figure out was instead of clearing the cash register she just rang it up twice. Not a happy camper when I get over charged by over $10 dollars. So watch what the charge you! read more

This place is great! The meat market is great and you can buy anything you need here for sure. I love the hot food the gizzards are my favorite. The only thing that could be better is the pricing. We were seriously overcharged recently and if I hadn't of been with my husband to catch it he wouldn't have mentioned it and the last visit I made there was a question of price from the employees and they guessed a price which I feel was wrong but ok. Wow! I have never seen anything like this before. As we were pulling up to the gas station/party store there was a horse pulling a closed buggy and a bass boat. Can you say Amish! We walk inside and the first thing I saw were the ladies behind the counter and there was a glass hot food display cabinet with chicken and chips inside. Directly in front of this was the video section. Keep walking and they have hunting clothes, packaged foods, motor oil and then the fresh meat counter in that order. But we did not come for any of that. If you walk to the back of the building thru an addition or two, you find yourself in a large space that looks as though it might have been a garage at one point. But it is the Hudsonville Ice Cream shop. I was told to get the tiramisu but that goes quickly and they were out. I had the pistachio, banana and ice cream cake. They gave me just shy of a quart of ice cream in a plate and we had 5 orders in different flavors. The total came to $14.78 with or without tax? The pistachio was the best I have ever had and we got to eat it on the patio looking out over the lake. I walked around the store again just to make sure I was really seeing all of this. Like the homemade sausages half the size of your arm. Funny thing, I did not see any cleaning supplies nor did it look as though they have ever heard of them. This was a fun experience, but next time I will take the back way in to get my Hudsonville delights. read more

This place is cool. You can buy anything from gas, fresh meat, cooked meals, hunting gear, rent videos, produce and just about anything else. This is truly one stop shopping. But I came for the ice cream. The Ice Cream Shop is located in the back of the building. The have a good variety of flavors to choose from. I went for the cookies and cream and asked for the Just Enough size. The gal behind the counter asked have you been here before? Yes I have. She wanted to be sure I knew what I was getting. Yes Just Enough is more than enough. It is almost a quart and the cost is$4 The poor gals arm was tired after scooping it out. Fun place with a special treat. Best ice cream place in the country! If u survive the walk through the redneck gas station you will be rewarded with the largest serving of delicious ice cream for the best price! This place is great! Real butcher shop and most of their food is good. Be careful with the premium gas though, last year bought 20 gallons and it had water in it. Never had a problem with regular though. read more
