Not Impressed! I just recieved a phone call from the receptionist, this very morning regarding an appointment I had scheduled for tomorrow. After stating that I had called & cancelled that appointment yesterday. I was informed that they would be waiving the $50 cancellation fee this time and that they have a 48 hour cancellation policy, that I should have called Tuesday. At which point, I was asked if I would be rescheduling. After I was told there are no openings for 3 different dates, one of which being in June, 3 months away mind you, I will be looking for a new Dentist, Thanks. This dental practice is the best I have ever been to by far.. For starters you feel like you are in an upscale hotel from the moment you walk in the door... Beautiful surroundings and extremely friendly staff.. Every room is equipped with your own tv with dish network... So while you have work done on your teeth you can kick back and relax and watch some tv... Not to mention If they need to show you an x-ray or something about your teeth, they can show you on the tv, instead of waiting for xrays to get developed. They have cameras that can stream any work there doing on you also.. Or if they need to show you something in your mouth.. Will never go back and will not recommend to anyone I know! First of all, it took forever just to be seen for regular cleaning and exam. They have way too many patients. Second, used wrong insurance. Gave them my primary and secondary insurance info and they didn't even bother going through the first insurance policy. Took it upon themselves, without approval, to do so. All they did was money hound me. Created a huge treatment plan for my husband and son. Went to another dentist, had them request my xrays, they wanted to charge me $20 for each person's xrays to be sent to other dentist. Also, the treatment plan they gave was unnecessary work they said needed to be done. However, when I went for second opinion at another dentist, this work was not needed. read more

went in for my yearly exam. no cavities :). a few new staff and they all seemed nice. i overhead an employee discussing something about Yelp because some of their patients had written reviews for them and they weren't showing up. i thought i would check my site and sure enough mine is gone. great. i am glad i have spent so much of my freaking time doing this. thought i would help them out because they have helped me get over the fear of dentists. Yelp. you have been a disappointment. i always read several reviews before i decide whether or not i want to go to a business. sometimes i will even try it out despite mediocre reviews. While discussing my insurance they took my 9 year old son to the back without telling me and then basically did nothing when I asked where he was and that I wanted to know where he was. They only went to look for him after I demanded it. Then when the doctor arrived I was informed that I was to go to the waiting room while they worked on his teeth because "that's how we do it here". I have been going to the dentist pretty much all my life just like the average person but I must admit I have done a poor job of taking care of my teeth during my younger years. Since about 8 I have had to have work done on my teeth outside of regular cleanings such cavity fillings, caps, retainers and etc. Over the years as my dental problems continued I bounced around from different dental offices such as Castle dental, to even some private practices in the medical center all due to either insurance coverage issues or what ever procedure I need done. However, it wasn't till about a year ago I came across Sandalwood Dental as I was having more dental problems ( rotten wisdom tooth) after going in for a free exam and x-ray I was immediately blown away by Dr. Strepka and his dental staff. I have never experienced an office atmosphere before like Sandalwood dental. The staff was very knowledgeable, comforting and personal in a way such as remembering my name ,where I went to school, my major and etc. which made me feel at home and relaxed. Dr. Strepka is unlike any other dentist I have ever had before his people skills are exceptional. I know it may sound funny but at times it really felt like the guy was one just one of my friends who just so happen to know how to do dental work. But on another note I have never had any one before Dr. Strepka ever break things down and explain them to me like he did. He even told me how the bottom of my jaw developed faster than the top of my jaw which cause me to have a gap between my top row and bottom row teeth not to mention that this also affected my speech which I can say is true. Now when ever I had some work done even some cleanings I can truly say my mouth was left feeling better than what it was before. Not to mention any pain i ever had before, during or after any procedure went away almost immediately except for the numbness lol. With all that being said I am very happy continuing patient of Sandalwood dental and I only wished I knew about them that sooner so I could have had more work done there. I went to Sandalwood Dental on 7/14 for a chipped front tooth as well as a consultation on a total smile make over. The doctor did my filling an informed me my filling would be for free. The doctor was polite and personable. I asked a lot of questions like which lab do you use for veneers? He responded with Alpha. I asked other questions like can I choose my own lab etc etc. I have been saving for this for two years so I wanted to make sure I was well informed and making the best decision for me. Everything seemed to be going just fine. However, after the consultation I was informed that that he would take a week to come up with my treatment plan. What the what? Who takes a whole week to come up with a treatment plan? I paid my bill and purchased two soniccare toothbrushes for my daughters at a cost of 50.00 each. I also paid my 50.00 deductible. Total money out of my pocket was 150.00 PLUS he billed my insurance for my treatment plan. The filling that he put in broke the same day......while I was at lunch....with a client. I immediately called an emergency appointment to have it fixed. I was told they would not have anything available until 7/19. That is insane to me. I said something along the lines of "But this is a front tooth...!" The lady on the other line stuck to her guns and had a take it or leave it attitude. I may or may not have said something along the lines of "I will just go somewhere else like I should have done in the first place." That part I do not remember clearly because I was so alarmed and annoyed. The only thing I could think of is, what if I would have spent thousands of dollars with him and a veneer broke....would he make me wait 5 days or so to fix a missing veneer. Most doctors have emergency appointments for cases such as these. I called and immediately made an appointment to another dentist whom worked me in and fixed the filling. That filling is still holding strong. I am a very busy woman so I chalked this up as no big deal like any profession some are better at their job than others. Then last night I received a certified letter stating that I was rude before, during and after my visit. Blatant lies. I came in and filled out my paperwork as quickly as possible and was taken to the back where I played pokemon go until the doctor arrived. Everything was pretty routine the only descrepnacy that would be open to perception and not nessasarily reality was when I called back in to get the broken filling fixed. I then realized ironically enough that the doctor never emailed me the treatment plan like he said he would. The irony of someone saying I am rude when they can even be bothered to stick to their word. The bottom line this bullcrap letter aside is I would not not trust this doctor to do cosmetic dentistry...I just don't think he has the experience and there is too much money that has been hard earned and long saved at risk to take a chance on someone who can't even get a filling right oh and btw...I STILL NEVER RECEIVED MY TREATMENT PLAN. I sent them an email stating to email it to me directly as was previously agreed upon. On general principal since my insurance and I have already paid for it. read more
