Both of my sons had completed an assessment for admission to Greenwood a couple of years prior, but did not meet the requirements at that time. I was disappointed, because I'd heard great things about Greenwood. Alas, Greenwood knew what they were doing. My boys just weren't ready yet. That's the kind of caring you will find at Greenwood! Any school could enroll students just to fill seats. But the head of school (Mrs Connell, now retired) at the time knew my sons would be in over their heads if they started Greenwood when we first applied. My mother was a teacher. So I've always been acutely aware of what teachers do and have nothing but respect for teachers! I certainly appreciate and wanted a good education for my sons, but trying to find and finance it as a single Mom was not easy. One day, though, the stars aligned, my boys were accepted at Greenwood, and with the help of the McKay Scholarship and financial aid through the generosity of others, my children were where they needed to be, to be their best. Of course, not every student will be a perfect fit at every school. But if your child has an IEP, has learning differences and could benefit from educators who understand that; as well as smaller class sizes - I urge you to check out Greenwood. I will forever be grateful to the faculty & staff at Greenwood... For treating my sons as individuals...for providing an optimum environment...for helping them grow in numerous aspects. But the campus is clean and an easy learning environment. The library has a large selection of books and the sixth grade graduation is beautiful. I recommend if you live in the Fleming island area to take your kids to this elementary. It is disciplined and perfect for a young child.

After a smooth elementary school experience, middle school brought morning panic attacks and severe school avoidance for our family. After missing most of the first two weeks of school, we embarked on a long, exhausting search to find an environment where our son could feel safe, understood, and supported. We tried charter schools, private programs, and temporary homeschooling while visiting multiple specialized schools--yet nothing felt quite right until we walked through the doors of The Broach School of Orange Park. From the very first moment, Director Sonya Sutter and her assistant Ms. Smith were a absolute treasure. Ms. Sutter greeted us with a genuine, warm smile and immediately set a completely different tone. Rather than rushing through a standard tour or speaking solely to us while treating our son as if he weren't in the room, she spoke directly to Anthony. She took the time to listen to him, validate his feelings, and talk with him like the capable person he is. She offered thoughtful, practical ways he could thrive rather than just survive. That initial conversation was the light at the end of a very dark tunnel for our family. While the journey back to comfort in the classroom has naturally had a few speed bumps, the progress Anthony has made is nothing short of incredible. Bad days have quickly given way to good days, and each week brings more confidence and stability. His grades are fantastic, and he is excelling academically. The environment at The Broach School fosters both personal independence and a strong sense of accomplishment through continuous positive reinforcement. Furthermore, the faculty and staff set the standard for parent partnership--communication is open, welcoming, and response times to emails are remarkably fast. We are endlessly grateful to Sonya Sutter, Ms. Smith, and the entire team at The Broach School of Orange Park for restoring our son's love of learning and giving him a place where he can truly belong.
