Today, was my FINAL shopping experience at Burney. I had purchased a few screws for a project a week or so ago and didn't need them. Today, I tried to return them and buy some more items. I thought I had the receipt in the bag but I did not seem to have it with me. I asked if I could return them without the receipt. The total for the four screws was a whopping .82. I was told that they couldn't return them without the receipt as they have hundreds of SKU numbers and they wouldn't know which one I was returning. This made logical sense until I looked at my bag a little further. The gentleman that helped me pick out the screws didn't seem to write down the SKU number on my bag! How was it rung up when I purchased it? I assume by some generic key that charged me the .82, the same generic key that could have refunded my .82! Sorry Burney you lost me for good over this one, shame on your staff!

The tech called Stihl and sent them pictures trying to get them to deny doing the warranty. The saw had a scratch from where it sits on my trailer. The tech told Stihl I did some crazy stuff when he didn't even know. So Stihl denied it. I called Stihl and they told me they don't know why the tech called and sent them pictures trying to get it denied but they said yea clear warranty problem. I've emailed the store several times trying to speak with a manager and the won't respond. They kept my saw for two months before they called me and said we can't fix under warranty. Now I have to take saw to different shop out my area. Sorry place. Hate I spent so much money there

Within a minute or two Adam had wrapped up with his customer and acknowledged me. When I told him the specific product I was looking for and the purpose he deferred me to Joey as well as stood next to Joey to learn about the product. Joey did a fantastic job of discussing the pros and cons of the product. He also checked their system to try to locate a smaller quantity to better suit my needs, since the smallest size available was a gallon he proceeded to go into the back and locate the product. Before I could even ask for the material data sheet to know Humidity and temperature range as well as tip sizes for guns, Joey had them printed and was going over the information with me. In the short time I was waiting for Joey to come back from the store room I was passed by two employees both of whom greeted me and asked if I needed assistance. Overall a great visit. I was not expecting the level of customer service from this location since it specializes in commercial accounts, but was quite pleasantly surprised.

Enter Reckless Paint, one of the only Benjamin Moore paint suppliers in the Durham/Chapel Hill area. If you're looking for an old-school, friendly paint shop, this is the place to go. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. The owner helped me decide which type of paint I needed, matched the color perfectly to the sample I'd loved and made sure that I purchased the right amount of paint. They did mistakenly make an eggshell instead of a matte finish. I wasn't picky and could have been easily convinced that eggshell was a better option. They didn't push a 'well, eggshell is superior' sale on me. Instead, they profusely apologized and gave me a 50% discount! That's customer service. I hadn't expected anything like that (and to be honest, was completely fine with the eggshell after they showed me the eggshell paint on their walls and gave me instructions on how I should use the paint). They carried multiple types of paint (I bought and loved the low VOC Devine paint...no priming and I only needed 1 coat to cover brown walls). I also saw paint supplies- rollers, brushes, drop cloths, etc and stains for wood. When the urge to change the colors of my walls strikes again, I'll definitely return to Reckless. I'd highly recommend to anyone looking for quality paint and service.

Their products are consistently good. We went in today to get advice on refinishing our kitchen cabinets in the easiest way possible. When I told her we didn't want to prime, she suggested a paint that would most likely work well over slightly sanded cabinets. She also told us the price before mixing it to prevent sticker shock, and found a coupon we could use. She mentioned a product to clean the cabinets first, but I ignored it (again, being lazy on this very time consuming project). She brought the product to me and in a very "you really need to do this" voice without being at all pushy recommended it again. And you know what? She was absolutely right! I couldn't believe how much dirt and grease came off my cabinets even though we wipe them down all the time! I often find the paint sample area to be a bit messy with people's trash, and paint samples scattered about, but I can easily overlook this due to the high level of customer service.
