Tour American Parks of the West 08/25/2024 through 09/01/2024…read more We were greatly disappointed with the organization of this trip through Tours of Distinction. Here are the reasons: (1) Tour was booked in January 2024. Primary small group 25 or less. Actual number of clients: 80 with two large busses with no WiFi - False advertising on the web site. (2) Lack of Organizational skills and poor communication from Tours of Distinction. With 4 weeks before trip departure, I had to call Tours of Distinction 3 times for information of forthcoming trip. (3) Free airfare was included. We purchased upgraded seats because of the cheap seats from Tours of Distinction. (4) Bus number 1 had one representative (contractor) from Tours of Distinction Our bus number 2 had one representative from ToD and one from Southwest Adventure Tours. (5) Confusing was monumental for the first two days for the agenda was changed on the fly. (6) Bus number one (40 people+-) always arrived at stops before us in bus number two which we were on. We endured long waits for bathrooms, food etc. I was told 3 weeks before the scheduled trip that the number of travelers had jumped to two busses and 80 +- tourist. My wife and I were extremely upset. I was told by a rep at ToD that although there would be two busses, they would not travel together. A flagrant lie from a rep at ToD. The two busses became a caravan. (7) On a positive note the food and accommodations were acceptable. However, as seniors, 2 motels did not have any elevators and accommodations were on the 2nd floor. For future considerations, seniors should always have a room on the first floor. (8) We left the hotels generally by 07:00 and did not arrive at our next hotel generally after 21:00. For all of us, seniors, it was an exhausting daily schedule. (9) The scenic sites made this trip. ( 10) Our driver Mike Wilhelm, Tour Director Ginny Sample and Step on Guide Wayne Parker were OUSTANDING and were focused on the needs of bus number 2 NOTE: Mike, Ginny and Wayne, covered up the unprofessionalism of Tours of Distinction Hdq. (11) My wife and I will never recommend Tours of Distinction to our family and friends. I will also be submitting this review on Yelp.

The hotels initially stated in itinerary were downgraded so much that our last hotel had NOTHING around it. On the bus again for 2 nights to go to dinner. We have taken many trips over the years and we are flexible with changes that have to occur however this last minute changes were unacceptable and we were never notified prior to the trip. They did not respond well to our concerns and took no responsibility for any of the issue we faced.

I am adopted "unfortunately" because my parents could not have kids of their own. Because of this with all my documents and paperwork I had correct Karen could not fill it because she "couldn't read it" even though it's in English as I am in fact a US Citizen. Enter Jennifer with a very condescending attitude and fake customer service voice she told me I could not use their location even though it is not listed on the AAA website nor the DMV website that they cannot process my Real ID here. They had a makeshift sign on their door which I'm convinced they printed from Microsoft Word also did not note I could not process this here because I AM IN FACT a US citizen by adoption. And then Karen mentioned because my original birth certificate is in Spanish I can go to the DMV because they'd have someone I could "talk to there in Spanish" and I'm literally speaking English to her, I don't even know another language. So not only is Karen extremely rude she is also a racist. I would never recommend this AAA for this town or surrounding towns because of these two unprofessional and racist women. This AAA makes up their own rules and pick and chose what to process.

Communication was lacking, decisions were made without our approval, and overall the process was not seamless. Our agent, Arshi, made a major mistake when booking our return flights by splitting up our group and separating minor children from their parents. It would have been one thing if families were kept together on different flights, but having children booked separately from their parents was completely unacceptable. In addition, some of the children were booked in business class while some of the adults were in coach, which was another example of a lack of attention to detail and decisions being made without our input. We then had to pay additional money to correct an error that should never have happened in the first place. We chose to use a travel agent because we expected expertise and careful planning. We didn't think we would need to explicitly state that children should fly with their parents. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would not recommend using AAA Travel.

The in is so cozy; gas fire and comfortable sofas in the parlor area; the room was clean and comfortable. Staff were all wonderful - from front desk to bar and restaurant. and we had a delicious meal there. All perfect!!
