I think it's interesting that it was a huge "brown brother" who seemed to over react to my son who yes was drunk but coke one "big" guy to react and say you were threatened and I was sober (don't drink) and was never threatened by anyone. He proceeded to walk my son to door (he was just having a good time) and my son looked at me and simply shrugged and said I have to go. We immediately went toward the door and the jerk bouncer was pushing me! Not sure if he can legally put his hands on me as it wasn't me who was asked to leave but yes he was pushing my back toward door and literally pushed me out the door? The other guys at the door were fine but this guy was a jerk! Do better or get a new job! Stop being a jerk! You work in a bar

In a bigger city, this would be the kind of bar that would have a poor reputation. This isn't the kind of place you dress up to go to. In fact, sometimes I feel overdressed in jeans and nice top. Unfortunately there aren't many places to go dancing in Kamloops so I end up here more often than I would like. The Blue Grotto claims to be a 21+ club but really that label is just a deterrent to keep the "kids" out. The crowd it tends to draw is MUCH older. At 26 I feel like one of the youngest people there by at least a decade. I suppose for some people this would be a positive, but I would personally prefer a venue that catered to a younger crowd. Drinks are offered at pretty standard prices for BC and the selection is decent. They have a wide range of bottle beers (mostly domestic) as well as a full-bar for high balls. One positive about the Grotto is their staff, everyone from the bartenders to the bouncers. I've never had an issue with anyone there and I'm always impressed with bar staff who can serve drinks quickly and still manage to be friendly. I will say that I do enjoy how the Blue Grotto always seems to have live music. It's a nice change from the usual club DJs. While most of them tend to be mediocre cover bands, some of the regulars are actually quite good. Try to stop by on a night that the The Young'uns are playing!
