Having…read morelived in the West Norfolk area for around three years now, I'd been meaning to visit the museum for at least that long and finally did so a few weeks ago. The two staff who worked at the front desk were friendly and helpful and the exhibits were outstanding. They have recently refurbished the whole building, inside and out, and now house Sea Henge which is a series of standing tree trunks found off the coast of North Norfolk. These trunks are the main attraction of the museum, but there's also a smaller anti-room which houses some local archaeology and a brief history of the town and surrounding area. If you're a fan of archaeology and history in general then there are worse ways to spend a couple of hours. If you're not, then perhaps give it a miss and head into the shopping centre a few meters away.

It's nice the bar with terrace is open after the show and everybody can wind down with a drink and it continues the night. Good to see a theatre supported so well by locals and holiday makers. Well worth seeing a show if you're in Hunstanton.

The Hippodrome is one of the oldest surviving circus buildings in the UK dating back to the early…read more1900s. The circus features a water spectacular where the ring is sunk and filled with water for synchronised swimming routines. There is a dance troupe Estelle's dancers which regularly perform in the shows. The shows are full of colour and variety and the clown is hilarious. The downside is that the seats are quite steep around the ring - there's not much room but it's worth it because the shows are fantastic. A great way to spend an evening in summer and the kids will love it (especially the clown!)

Inside it feels like a small town theatre - sort of cosy. The seats are comfortable and the shows I have seen have been good. From time to time they also show movies - normally the sort you cannot see in chain cinemas so well worth looking out for.

It has music on several stages, stalls, food, art, crafts, kids entertainment, performers, participation and of course a beer tent. I went for the day last year and it was a hot day (rain tomorrow). If you can't get to this one put it in your diary for next year because it is good and it is free! After the event. A crowd of us went. Kings Cross to Cambridge and we got on enroute..like a rolling snowball..it had picked up other friends enroute. The trains were packed and the queueing and police presence at Cambridge station seemed a bit OTT. The festival itself was packed but the music, beer and food were good as were the selection of stalls. I got a rainstick for £1. As this is free one wonders how much longer it can run but if it is on next year then go!

Most of the garden is outdoors, there are some garden glass houses where the humidity is quite tropical. There is a cafe on site and a nice gift shop. 6£ to enter is reasonable given the space and variety in plants and trees. You can see most of it on 90 minutes. You can learn some interesting facts along the walk. For example, did you know that Cambridge has the least rain in all of Britain? Even less than Barcelona!

It's a children soft-play area with a range of things to climb, slide down , swing from etc. There's even a pneumatic gun area where you can load a 'gun' up with foam balls and use them to shoot your friends (or enemies) in mock-battles which is great fun. This place is an absolute god-send when it's raining. There's a small coffee and sandwich shop and a 'parents' area with a range of mags and papers where you can relax while your offspring let-off some steam. It's probably most suitable for the sub-10 year old age bracket. Prices are reasonable there's nominally a time-limit of 2 hours but they don't seem very strict on this when it's not busy.
