Golf: Very nice, scenic, interesting course, but being a public facility, not in the best condition. Lots of unfilled fairway divots, ball marks on the greens that aren't being repaired. Golf carts are electric, but have way too many ads appearing on the GPS screen. Annoying. Green fees are fair and they offer a small senior discount during the week. Restaurant: Food is really very good. Service varies from good to slow, depending on the size of the crowd. Breakfasts are excellent. The bar, unfortunately, only carries 2 brands of scotch, neither of which is very good. But they do have a large variety of beers, and other drinks. Accommodations: This is where I was extremely disappointed. The cottage (Cottage C) claimed to have 2 queen beds in each of the 4 rooms. That's quite an exaggeration, if not an outright lie. The beds are singles (and small singles, at that). Very uncomfortable sleeping conditions. If you can get the cottage with the king bed, do so, otherwise, skip the trip. read more

Sandy Pines is listed as a top golf course in Indiana. The golf course is in great shape and is very affordable. Just because I played less than spectacular is NO reflection on this course. Planning on returning soon to erase that memory. Many people were there dining - however I did not stay. Perhaps next round. read more

Recently held my wedding at this venue. Staff WAS AMAZING! Julie kept my wife sane through the whole process and day of the wedding their staff was very courteous and professional throughout the entire event. Beautiful setting with trees and greenery as a backstop and the food was to die for. Might be some of the best wedding food I have ever had. (Seriously, we had so many compliments on the food) The Bridal house is amazing, had a whole wing of the house for bride/bridesmaids to get ready and then upstairs was a groom suite with leather chairs/couches to hang out and a full bathroom to get ready. golf course is great, dont come without a group or 4 because you'll pay an arm and a leg to be forced to play with a random group and wait around all day due to the course over booking what they can handle. Beautiful course! Positives: Paved cart paths, nice golf carts with built in GPS touchscreens, greens and fairways in great shape, nice new clubhouse, and a good value for the price. Negative: Server in the clubhouse bar/grill didn't know what a Sam Adams summer ale was. The service here was really lacking. For premium courses ($50-$100) in NW Indiana Sandy Pines is right up there with The Course at Aberdeen in Valparaiso. Sandy Pines might even be a cut above. read more

Absolutely gorgeous golf course! My boyfriend and I happened to come here for a wedding (we live in Las Vegas). We had some time to kill in between the reception and dinner so we asked if we could rent a golf cart and drive around the course to take a peak. We actually happened to meet one of the investors, Greg, and he hopped on the back of our cart and gave us a tour and a history lesson. The time and effort that went into redeveloping this lovely piece of land shows. The lush trees and grass totally make this golf course a Midwest oasis. Course was in good decent shape . But slow play was a real drag. 5:44 to play 18 . Felt bad for the junior womens golfers behind us . Ranger said nothing just kept waiting and waiting ! This course is absolutely fantastic! It's inside my top ten favorites. The course design is fun and challenging. Lots of water and trees. It's beautiful. No hole looks the same. The carts are fast, very comfortable and have USB. Due to the Rona we didn't use the clubhouse but the staff we did talk to were very friendly. Get out there and tee it up! You won't be disappointed aside from possibly losing some balls. ‍ read more

Very nice course. Tons of shade! I'm from the Kankakee, IL and this course made all of ours look like a 5/10. The carts all have a map in them and GPS so you can see how far you're from the hazards and hole. If you play after 3pm it's also only $30/person read more

This place is outstanding for golf. One deficient item is the lack of a driving range. Other than that this is quality golf and food beyond any reasonable expectation. Finding the place is like finding a diamond on the street corner. I have played golf all over the Midwest and EAst of the USA. The green fees should be double what ever they charge. The course rivals any of the Chicago area courses. At less than 1/2 the price. Not an overly long course, great greens and dramatic holes mixed with a varied assortment with straight forward you see what you get to a couple of tricky holes which are fair but a little local knowledge is needed. came to shoot a round with the father in law. the course itself it great. great shape, challenging holes with water and bunkers. the only negative were 2 things. 1) no water to drink on the course? no coolers or fountains 2) I wanted money to buy beer from the cart girl.........um, NO ATM machines? why wouldn't you have an ATM? especially if you have a bar tied into the club house? bad move, bad move. read more

Very nice course in the middle of nowhere Indiana. I've played this course twice on my way back from Indy to Chitown on a business trip. Very playable track, well maintained, not too tight and well designed holes. I like that you have to use all the clubs in your bag. The clubhouse is also a great place to hang out and have some food/drinks. I would play this place again. read more

Great Course, But need to pay more attention to the job their Rangers are doing. 5:45 hr. round today. Ranger approaches us 5 hrs. Into our round on the 16th. Hole and tells us to speed up. Yet he was NO where in sight 4 hrs prior when there were 4 groups backed up on hole #2. read more
