I was on my way back home and looking for a bank that would allow me to deposit via drive up ATM. I was a little over halfway home and after stopping for fuel noticed this branch across the street. Access to this branch is from the side street and not the main road running through this area. What could have been a quick stop doesn't really turn into that because of the traffic signal at the intersection. Finally in the lot I pulled up to the ATM, insert card, few taps of a button and I was ready to insert check. The machine took a moment to process the transaction, but it went through. Good enough place to do your drive thru banking if need be.

Just ok. I was having problems with my former bank (M&T), so I switched to Wells Fargo. So far…read morethey haven't screwed up my account, so already they are doing better than their competition. There are some problems/annoyances, however, as I suspect is the case with probably all banks. When I came in to open my account(s), I wasn't given the option of looking over the various types of products. I was only told which one was "right for me", based on the questions asked by the customer service rep. Ok, fine, sounded good...but then when I got home and looked over the info, it was NOT what was explained to me: charges for this, that, minimum balances/deposits that I was not informed of. Not that big of a deal since I was able to call the 800 number and talk to a rep on the phone who switched me to a better product for my needs. Still, it would have been nice to not have to take this extra step. The other annoying thing is transactions take FOREVER to show up online. For example, my credit card is already showing that I paid them from my Wells Fargo account (electronically), yet my Wells Fargo account doesn't show the transaction, nor is it reflected in the balance. I'm used to stuff like that being almost instantaneous...and in this day and age, there's no reason that it shouldn't be.

I usually stop in Frederick on my way down because I know there are multiple good eateries. I'm more accustomed to the banks back around home and not so sure about other banks outside of my home state. So beforehand I made sure to do a search to where some banks were that would give me an idea to make sure I didn't go too far out of my way. I kind of had a deja vu moment when I came here. A few years prior I was in this plaza on one of my trips. However, I had never been to this end of the plaza. I pull in and make my way to the ATM. Being from Pittsburgh area, this just felt like a nod to home while heading out of town. It was simple and convenient. The place was setup to work with the plaza and allowed for a fairly quick stop before I got back onto the highway to continue on my way.
