My son has been taking drum lessons with Alex Selph for the past 6 years. He has learned so much during that time and is psyched every week for his lesson. The lessons continue to build on each other with complexity of beats and various styles of music. They try everything, and it is a joy to occasionally sit in on lessons and witness the magic happen! My son is in a band on the side and has gained a lot of confidence with Alex to attempt complicated sticking and various fills with his own band. We look forward to another year of music :). Occasionally, lessons get canceled or need to be rescheduled. I have never had any issues working with the staff to find an open time or date to reschedule. They have been incredibly accommodating and understanding about make-up lessons or any billing issues. Undoubtedly the best music school. We came to Sandy Springs Music over 4 years ago from another music program intown, and the contrast is undeniable. My children take guitar, violin, and voice lessons from instructors who are ideally paired with their learning styles and personalities. David, and his team at SSM, take a sincere interest in the happiness of all their students. Communication is fantastic and students are encouraged using positive methods, as opposed to other programs that shame or guilt children based on their level of practice per week. The teachers at Sandy Springs Music are kind, encouraging, and inspire a true understanding of the language of music in their students. For example, my daughter's guitar teacher often has her play piano as well. This approach helps her make connections and develop a deeper understanding of music, in addition to learning the technical skills required to play her chosen instrument. Her teacher uses her interests as a springboard for exploration and creativity. My two children have taken lessons in various instruments from at least five teachers over several years. My sons have been taking guitar lessons for about 8 years at Sandy Springs Music. David and his staff have been super with regards to lesson scheduling and rescheduling due to other school and after school activities. And we love our teachers! They've taken the time to find out what music my sons were interested in and then worked that into each week's lesson, which only encouraged and inspired my sons' love for learning how to play the guitar! My daughter just completed Rock Band Summer Camp at Sandy Springs Music. It was great. She was put into a group with several other students with similar abilities. Throughout the week, the kids not only practiced the music, but also worked on promoting the band. She was excited about going everyday. The week ended with performance steamed live on Facebook. We've tried quite a few camps over the years. Not all of them have been worth the time and money. This camp, on the other hand, was definitely a winner. I'd highly recommend it. read more

Sandy Springs Music is the best! Or the past few years I have taken flute, trumpet and french horn lessons and have been very pleased with the results. My teacher, Jonathan, is very patient and has an amazing knowledge of music theory. The staff has always been flexible and willing to work hard to reschedule missed appointments. All 3 of our kids have taken music lessons at Sandy Springs Music. Scheduling is very flexible and they offer a wide variety of instruments to learn. Our kids have taken piano, voice, flute, ukulele and drums. The instructors make the lessons fun and productive.
