What a gem! My…read moresister-in-law (aka Best Friend for the Rest of My Life!) were doing a little "last day" running around yesterday, Friday 5-19-2017, when we stumbled into this shop. We had been looking for thrift stores and flea market kind of venues, and had been scratching around the Island and surrounding areas all day. What a treat it was for us to meander thru this beautiful shop, totally unexpectedly because we discovered it while stopping in the strip mall for something else. The pictures that are posted are beautiful, and are very representative of the interior .... but three years later, this shop is packed with unique things! The owner (I assume) and her assistant were so warm and welcoming! I felt like I was shopping in my own hometown! I purchased a couple of things ... (a hooked pillow that I LOVE ... BTW: I have spent the better part of this year "needlepointing" a Christmas pillow that will probably never seen the Holidays LOL ... so I didn't hesitate to purchase a pillow that I absolutely loved!) The prices were reasonable (what you would expect to pay for a nice item) throughout the store. Thank you, ladies! I can't wait to visit again when my husband and I (and BIL and BFSIL) return to your beautiful Island!

We found things like dinosaur chopsticks for our kiddos and trivia cards that you don't see everywhere, which made browsing so much fun. As a book lover, I loved their book rewards program! Buy 3 regular-priced books and get the 4th 50% off! Even better, the rewards card is designed like a bookmark with an old-fashioned library checkout card on the back, which is such a charming and thoughtful touch. What truly made this place stand out, though, was the kindness of the staff and owner. My husband uses a wheelchair, and the owner was incredibly accommodating, even offering to open the store an hour early the next morning so we could shop before it became crowded and more difficult for him to navigate. That level of compassion and customer service is rare and meant so much to our family. If you're visiting Topsail, Bumblebee Market is definitely worth a stop. It's the kind of place where you can find the perfect gift, a great book, and leave feeling genuinely cared for. We will absolutely be back!

I stopped by for an inexpensive cooler to carry some seafood home. They had the perfect cooler for only $5. The clerk was helpful and friendly. I looked at the surf supplies and another clerk immediately asked if I needed assistance. The fishing gear is unbelievable. And kayaks, they carry everything. I could have spent all day in there. They rent surf boards, paddle boards, bikes and sell fishing licenses and can even set up fishing charters. They are locally owned. They offer free parking. I'll be back on my next visit to Surf City.

I'd give this place 5 stars if they actually let customers sample the ice cream before you purchase the scoops/cups/cones. This is the first place I've encountered that doesn't allow you to try samples, and it might be that they used to allow it but because people abused the system they quit doing it. Either way, it's a frustrating result. My ice cream was great and the employee was nice, but if samples were allowed and if there was any indoor seating so you could enjoy the AC I'd have given 5 stars without a second thought.
