Worst company I've ever had to ride with. They do not value their clients. We had to ride to…read moreLexington and back with a driver who was only worried about getting back to salyersville in time to get his gabapentin from the post office to let his wife go sell. He was driving wrecklessly all down mountain parkway the entire trip. I actually begged my mother to call state police to look for the vehicle because I thought I was gonna be wrecked and killed. I reported everything to Ashley and all that was down was nothing. They simply called me and apologized but the Anthony guy is still working there to this day. They threatened me with fraud over having a rider just because they wanted to charge him for the ride to get the maximum payment they could. I wouldn't trust this company to drive a dead dog anywhere. There are a few nice drivers but the older ones are a couple of goody two shoes stuck ups who think they're from the high end of the trailer park. The state really needs to look into this company and the way they handle drivers and their issues they were clearly told about.

The Hatfield McCoy Inn was wonderful and charged us half as much as to what other local hotels were asking. Great place to stay. Beautiful historic home. It has so much character. We would love to visit again for recreation. The little balcony porch was so lovely. And I can imagine myself around a little fire in the yard. Ps the yard chickens are soooooo cute.

We had a really hard time getting service to research a lot of places during our week long touring with the ATV's on the Hatfield & McCoy trails, so it was wonderful to finally hit a town that had service for Verizon phones and be able to find a little piece of heaven like this. Also, we've never stayed at a bed and breakfast, so this was definitely a first experience for us. The hosts were so welcoming at the late hour we came in, and recommended a few restaurants in town for us to get dinner and relax at. We had the privacy of a hotel, and the comfort of a home, all at the same time. We will definitely keep this on the map for our future visits- you should too!!!

Furniture and toilet seat covered in cigarette burns, the toilet was so gross I wouldn't sit directly on it. We wouldn't go anywhere the shower- and we even brought shower shoes. The lamp didn't come on when you flipped the switch, but it does about 2 minutes after. The curtains and lampshades were stained and the whole room smelled all strongly of cigarette smoke that we had to go buy a candle because it gave me a headache. And when we woke up, there was a roach that had gotten stuck on it's back in the ashtray. The high reviews on this motel are 100% fake. I asked a city worker and they said they get a lot of calls to this place- just get a tent and save yourself the trauma of this horror hiuse.

Southeastern Kentucky is a place that's experienced (and continues to experience) a lot of hard…read moretimes. So, it's hard to be too critical of anyone trying to make a go of it there. This is the only bed and breakfast that we could find for miles and miles in any direction. Nonetheless, I must say that we were rather disappointed by our stay at this place. The cons: The bed and breakfast is actually owned by the same person who owns the enormous Hampton Inn right next door, so it feels just like part of a big hotel empire, not a homey B&B. The owner doesn't live in the B&B, and they also did not have a cook when we were there. So, instead of being treated to a delicious home-cooked breakfast, we were told to walk over to the Hampton for their breakfast. (we made our reservation online, and didn't find this out until we arrived). This was a major disappointment. Also, the room we stayed in was bizarrely paneled in pieces of pine 2x4. It kind of felt like being inside a cedar chest, not really in a good way. It was otherwise fine but nothing to write home about. The pros: The lady who greeted us was extremely warm and friendly even though we were an hour past check-in time. They also let us use the pool at the Hampton. Across the street is a nice park where there were a fair number of people out for a stroll or bicycling somewhere or playing with their kids, which was pretty heartwarming. If you have to stay in Pikeville, this is probably your best option. But if I were doing this again I'd probably try out one of the mountain resorts or parks nearby.
