We had a really hard time getting service to research a lot of places during our week long touring with the ATV's on the Hatfield & McCoy trails, so it was wonderful to finally hit a town that had service for Verizon phones and be able to find a little piece of heaven like this. Also, we've never stayed at a bed and breakfast, so this was definitely a first experience for us. The hosts were so welcoming at the late hour we came in, and recommended a few restaurants in town for us to get dinner and relax at. We had the privacy of a hotel, and the comfort of a home, all at the same time. We will definitely keep this on the map for our future visits- you should too!!!

They came by every day to check up on us, see if we needed anything, and make sure we were taken care of. It reminded me of staying at a good friend's house. Walter went above and beyond to make sure our stay went well and even took time out of his day to hop in his truck and haul one of our broke down 4wheelers off the trail in the middle of nowhere. After we wrapped up our weekend, we used the pressure washer on site and cleaned up the bikes and prepped to return home. I'd definitely recommend Open Trail Lodging. You cant beat that kind of service and hospitality and I will be coming back to stay on my next visit!

And had burning eyes, skin rash and trouble breathing, low oxygen , saw doc had two breathing treatments and put on steroids for lungs I got home ..had to leave all things in garage and wipe everything every piece that we had with us w special solution before going in house so the mold spurs that attached to everything not get in my home. !!! They know they are robbing you out of hard earned money 175 plus per night for this ???!! Paid over 1,000 to get sick and lot of work to just get our stuff cleaned !!

Butch (owner) was top notch, and answered all our questions quickly and handled any issues. Common area is huge and well stocked with comfortable furniture and eating areas, large bathrooms and spotless kitchen were both great We had one tiny issue with hot water in the showers but we got that handled quickly. There is a powerful hose located next to a expanded metal deck to wash machines off.

Map is not accurate. This motor court is south of Logan, basically in Stollings (not far south of…read morethe Speedway). There is little to no cellphone signal in this area. Very nice folks here. They have wi-fi internet but you have to be outdoors to use it (something about the signal not going through the brick walls of the hotel - they're working on it). Staff is also willing to let you work in their lobby if you really need internet access. Room was better than expected with a microwave and small fridge. Rates are reasonable. Railroad tracks just across the highway, but there weren't many trains (at least not that I heard) and, of course, the highway is 10s of feet away from rooms. Otherwise, the night was quiet. Despite the inconvenience of not having in-room internet, I will probably make this a regular stop on my regular business route. I really like being able to park directly in front of my room and run out to the car if I've forgotten something.

Decided on a last minute trip to the Hatfield McCoy trails and this campground was recommended by…read moreanother that was full for my dates. I couldn't be happier! I was so pleased with this campground. 3 people in my party used the bathhouse/showers and raved that they were the cleanest they have ever seen. We stayed in a full hookup RV site and the site was very level. Used only 1 leveler on one side of our travel trailer. We had a 38 foot travel trailer, tow vehicle, 2 SXS, trailer and another tow vehicle with plenty of space. Behind our site was a flowing creek/river, and we were able to open the back window in our bunkhouse to have a nice view. The owners are exceptional and so pleasant. They keep everything maintained and are beyond helpful. Approachable, friendly and always willing to help! I would absolutely recommend this place and will return to this same campground. Access to the trails was very convenient and just over 1/4 mile from the grounds. Both Rockhouse and Buffalo Mountain can be accessed via Devil Anse trail. Very convenient!
