My daughter got rear ended by a lady in Kettering and the Police sent her car to Sandy's towing. They are nothing but con artists as well as rude. My wife was in an accident bad enough that the car was not drive able. The Dayton police call this service and they responded quickly and removed the car. - So far so good. 5 days go by and we receive a letter from Sandys that we must show proof of ownership within 5 days or they will assume possession of the car. (Not a word to us about this previously.) I called them, I was told to bring the title or registration (which is in the glove box) and prove we owned the car or they would not release it. They would not let me go to the car to get the registration. So, I found the title and headed to their office. They scanned the title and gave me a release number. Then asked me if I needed to go to the car to retrieve anything. It took 12 days for them to release my car to be towed to the repair shop. They said they wanted to be the ones to tow it, the insurance company said no. Not my choice to use this time, wouldn't be my choice to ever use. read more

DONT let Sandy's tow your car. They come to tow my son's car he spoke with the guy and told him what was wrong with the car and gave him the key. we go outside 20 mins later car still there tow truck gone and he has the key. When I called there the rude lady kept saying he will be there in 15 mins I told her he was already here and took the key, she ask me if I was sure it was Sandy"s. I told her yes and she kept saying he's on his way. When I ask to speak to a supervisor she hung up. Horrible customer service. They act like I was wrong inquiring what's going on. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. A few later my brother car was wrecked and they towed it there. The next day he went to clean the car out since it was going to be totaled out. He asked the supervisor if he could get his radio/navigation system since it didn't come with the car paid out his own pocket. The guy was nice to let him get it but one the employees stoled it out the car. He never signed the papers so it was technically still his car. He told him to call back on Monday and he will have it back. He called and once again they were rude and unprofessional. My husband and I were coming home this evening on 675 south then were going onto I75 north. A Sandy's towing truck had zipped past us before we got to the on ramp onto I75 (going quite over the speed limit). As we approached the curve/ramp to go onto I75 north, the tow truck was slowing way down, suddenly he puts these huge bright lights (think football field on Friday night) on that nearly blinded my husband who was driving! The lights were all at the back of his truck. He was there for a car that had gone off the road and in the grassy raveen. Turning on blinding lights to the REAR of his truck were not necessary. You nearly caused us to have an accident! He wasn't even close to the point of stopping for the car there yet which was off road and to his right side. I don't know who your driver was but not impressed. I would have gotten a truck number but was too blinded to see anything. : / read more

My wife was in an accident, Sandy's towed, by default. Vehicle was taken to Northwoods lot. I called to set up a time, as the lot is unmonitored. Spoke to "Dale". He was rude and treated us like we were an imposition. Hung up on me twice. Once on tuesday, and again on wednesday. (While i was trying to set a time.) Would not allow me to make an appointment; informed me that he would "have to pull someone from somewhere else. It is 1136 am, we have been waiting since 1045 am. No call, nothing. I will never use sandy's towing again. They never picked up my car after I called it in and they said they would be there in 90 minutes. I found out that they did appear but said they could not locate the car so the order was cancelled. It was right at wright state university. They never called me to tell me it was cancelled. After a day,the Beaercreek police had it towed it and impounded. I called sandy's five times after that, ever day. I would speak to someone and they would say I will call you back. One time they told me the manager was at a funeral the next time the manager was on vacation. My total bill is700! Dollars and they still said there is nothing they can do about it! NEVER UsE THEM UNLEss you have extra cash you want to donate to a towing company. read more

My car was in an accident tonight and my insurance road side assistance sent a driver from Sandy's Towing to the rescue. The driver carefully escorted me to climb up the truck on the side of a very busy highway. He was very polite and took great care of my car. He also made sure to warn me not to try to drive my car since it had sustained some significant damage to the transmission as a result of the collision. Glad to have someone like that to reassure me in such a high anxiety moment. read more

I would NOT recommend! If you have a choice as to what towing/repair service to work with, move down the list to another company! We needed semi trailer repair only. Was charged $2300 for two steel rims (22.5) & 3 (recap) tires. If you do business with this company, expect to be bent over the barrel at time of invoice. read more

Tow truck routinely drives through private property parking lot looking for minor infractions as an excuse to tow away cars. Will drive towed cars over curbs, across sidewalks, and through lawns. My car was not one of the ones towed so I can't speak for the difficulty of getting a vehicle back or the price, but the practice is predatory to just witness. Do better. read more

Had a transmission issue recently and my truck was immovable from the middle of our cul de sac. Called Sandy's and the process to schedule a pick up was easy. When the technician arrived, he asked me what was wrong with my truck. I told him. Once we got the truck up half way on the tow bed, he looked underneath and explained it was only a linkage that had come undone. He re-installed it and we pulled my truck off the bed. He then called the office and they decided not to charge me for the visit. This was fantastic service and not at all expected. Thank you! Call Sandy's if you need a tow. read more

They charge $145 for a tow when everyone else charges 55-$75 then they charge a $67 admin fee, then a c.s. fee then taxes. $212 to get a $900 car towed. This is price gouging at its worst! Two tow companies in Columbus Ohio were taken to court and the judge ruled that they had to reimburse these fees. We need to stand up to companies who take advantage of a bad situation! read more

My car broke a couple wheel studs and hey took an hour to get to me for one, for 2 the driver was driving the truck like an idiot drove 80 in a 55 with my car on the back and had to speed everywhere to keep up with him. Guy was very nice just drove like an ass. read more

My customer purchased a trailer from an auction in Dayton OH. Sandy's towed it off the auction lot and parked it across the street in an empty parking lot. My truck that was going to pick up the trailer decided not to. I called Sandy's to be certain the trailer would be safe where it was. They took it upon themselves to go get the trailer and bring it back to their secured lot to insure it would be safe until I found another truck. The staff is extremely helpful and pleasant. Car was picked up on a Tuesday and called Thursday to get it released. The lady on the line said it was good to go and was ready to be picked up. I thought I had everything done but on the next Monday my body shop called me and told me Sandys would not release me car. I called back and was told this time the owner of the car needed to come in and release the car, I explained my dad owns the car and lives 3 hours away and the lady one the phone was very rude and no help. I asked to speak to a manager who was a lot more helpful and explained how to do a power of attorney for this. Got the car release on Monday, yet was told my insurance company would still be charged from Thursday through Monday for my car still being on the lot even though I was given the wrong information. The guy who helped me in person at Sandy's literally told me I shouldn't care because my insurance is covering that bill. I think it is extremely unethical that they charged that extra amount even though someone from there company gave me the wrong information and no one seemed to give a crap about it. My mom's boyfriend hired Sandy's to tow a car out of my rental proper driveway in East Dayton. No one was home at the time, but a few days later I go to the house to find that the brick wall along my drive way was busted. The tow company refuses to admit fault saying there are no witnesses. I'm sorry, but that is not an ethical way to do business. They should have took ownership of the damage, but instead they have lost customers. Given the layout of my driveway I have no doubts that they were the only ones on the property and did the damage. read more

I was driving a moving truck that had broken down and Sandy's Towing was sent as my roadside assistance. They were there in the time frame I was quoted. Josh, the technician who helped me was unbelievable. He went above and beyond to help me and keep me calm. He even called the next day to make sure I made it to my destination. Called for a tow. Middle of the day. Perfect weather. 2.5 hour wait. Really? I would understand if it were 1 am and snowing.

The service was terrible and unacceptable. My insurance called this company as a provider to come change my flat tire. Doug showed up. Didn't say anything to me. Pulled my car from the side of the road and took us to a dirt path down the road. He asked me where to take me and I told him to change the spare or if he can take me to Beavercreek to get my tire replaced. He said he would have to call my insurance company to authorize the transport. He sat in the truck for 30 minutes and said my insurance company de-authorized everything now, the transport and the changing of the tire. I asked him to wait for 5 minutes while I contacted my insurance company. He said no and basically abandoned me on the side of the road. He damaged my car while unloading it on the dirt and gravel path which I reported to my insurance company. Later on, my insurance company did not receive any call from your employee or company at all. He spoke rudely and didn't provide a good customer service and lied to me. He also falsely accused the incident as an accident after I repeatedly told him it wasn't. I filed a customer complaint through my insurance company and a damage claim for this company. Customer service was NOT a priority for this employee. read more

If you call Sandy's, you're an idiot ! I broke down, made a call, talked to Larry, told him the location & the car. He said "we'll have someone there in about an hour". I called back an hour-and-a-half later to ask if my tow was coming. He said I hung up on him when, in fact, there was a lot of road noise near the intersection I called from and I thought HE hung up after telling me they'd have someone there (I sensed, when talking to him, that business acumen was NOT his forte). The point: if you have a tow company and think someone "hung up" on you, wouldn't you call them back, under the assumption that they're broke down & calling from a cell phone & maybe, just maybe, the call was dropped ?! I subsequently called another local OWNER-OPERATED tow company that was there promptly (Steele's). If Sandy's was the only tow company in the Dayton area, I would push my car. One star, only because I can't give zero stars. Caveat Emptor !!! read more
