Beautiful pottery with nature in mind. The color of the gulf. Sea turtles are a featured subject.

Looking for a great group activity, date fun or time with friends! The Bent Brush is a local gem…read morewhere you can spend quality time making personalized quality items! Our group of 6 was met by spunky Paulette who gave us a complete and thorough explanation on how The Bent Brush operates. After washing our hands FIRST (don't want to smudge the ceramics ) we spent time looking at all the fun ceramics to choose for painting. There are various sizes, shapes and specimens to choose from with a variety of paints, brushes and tools to use as your creative mind chooses. I will be specific and say, take your time! There is no rushing here and you are encouraged to be as creative as possible. The staff is so friendly and helpful; so don't be afraid to ask for assistance! Plus, they have so many art tools that can enhance your experience you'll never know what can aide you in your next "Van-Gough" piece Our group had a great time, singing to the awesome 80's music playing in the background and painting in this super cheerful atmosphere. Yes, we will be back!

This last time my humans made a spider, an alien and a narwal, and a dog treat jar!! I helped with that one!!! The staff is very helpful and even gave some tips on how to write my name on the jar. They checked on us often and got us everything we needed. One of my humans is not good in art but loves this experience and actually has made some cool things. There was also some kind of event there and everyone in the birthday party had so much fun. A great way to spend a few to several hours making cool things and gifts!! Highly recommend this one!! 5 stars and can't wait until the next one!!! Bodhi Approved! #BodhiFin

If you drive to a gated entrance and wonder if you're in the right place, buzz security, say you're…read morethere for Tribby, and they'll let you right in. The Arts Center is part of the spectacular Shell Point retirement complex. (A quick deviation: if I was older, a different religion, and VERY rich, I'd move to Shell Point in a flash!) Once you park your car, you'll be wowed by the beautiful building that houses the gallery. A statue of the benefactor sits on the bench outside. Exhibits change periodically and are free of charge. The current show is particularly worthwhile. Discarded hubcaps were pulled from landfills, then distributed to professional artists around the world. The work is astounding, creative and shows concern for the environment, with subtle and not-so-subtle lessons throughout. The lobby houses a coffee shop and auditorium, the site of concerts and lectures. Buy tickets now for the Vienna Boys Choir. The exhibit takes little time to go through. Since you're there, check out the rest of the building. If you're lucky, you'll see various classes and get-togethers in progress. (Another endorsement for this retirement community!) We saw quilters, a drawing class and a group of talented senior musicians practicing. A library was located on the floor as well, with a volunteer eager to show me around. Beautiful art in various mediums, is for sale in the gift shop, which is part of the exhibit. Everything is crafted by Shell Point residents. The woman manning the area proudly showed me her necklace, along with another she made, that's for sale. "Lovely!" I said. "Did you learn how to do that here?" Yup. Residents' interests are fostered and encouraged. Tribby Arts Center is at 17281 On Par Boulevard. "On Par?" Yes -- because of the impressive golf course on the premises. (And that concludes my last plug of Shell Point. And no, I'm not on staff.)
