He is nice enough, but difficult to understand. I tell him a tape up down to a two, shorten the beard and clean it up. He says no problem. I was excited because this place looked dope inside. Mistake. I ask how much about 5 minutes in. Igor says $50. I said why so much? He mumbled something about a hot towel. A few minutes later I say, no hot towel, just do my beard and trim. He says ok. I literally told this guy my barber moved to Copiague so I am looking for a new barber. In response they tried to SCAM me. When he is finished, I ask, no blade? He says no I trimmed it. Youre going to charge me $50 and NO BLADE? I was flabbergasted. I was bewildered. He said $40. I said ok $40 no beard is still crazy. Igor, whose hands were SHAKING during the cut, says to pay up front. Up front, I hand the guy $40 and say, $40 no blade is crazy. This guy says, "If we TOUCH your beard we have to charge $40". What? Have to? Huh? I said, "Touch my beard? Fine. Look, no blade. $40 for no blade is crazy." AND they know it's crazy so they give me back $10. This GARBAGE haircut is NOT worth $30. I pulled up the local ones closest to me in yelp and on Google and this one was the one that ultimately felt right. And boy, was it right. Just a heads up, they do not accept credit cards so be prepared with cash. There are a couple businesses not too far away where you can use an ATM. They do not disclose their prices over the phone or on the Internet because they are very competitive and competing salons try and undercut them. I got a haircut and a shave today, and though nobody knew it, this was my very first time getting a real shave. And by real shave, I meant one that was professionally done, one that I did not do myself - I typically use 'Lectric Shave and an electric shaver. This is legit. Razor, shaving cream, hot towels. The real deal. It was an amazing experience. Every man must one day experience a real shave in their lifetime. Oddly enough, I waited until Father's Day weekend to treat myself to one. Very very pleased, very very happy. And to top it off, the gentleman who gave me the haircut and shave was the owner himself, Jose! It can be busy at times, which didn't bother me any because I could just gaze at all the memorabilia on the walls.

They have several seats and barbers to choose from if you like. I have been using Rafael for some time and prefer his haircutting style and personality. He is quick and has skills, not rushed and sloppy. I also recommend a shave as they do an excellent job here as well. I don't mind if there is a wait because there are other shops in the complex to venture out to if I have to wait. They have a vast collection of hair product here for purchase to choose from if you need hair care products. I use gel and enjoy the selection at JNL barbershop. I recommend stopping in sometime if you are in the area and sure you will walk out pleased like me with your trim or cut. They are family friendly as well.
