Brought my daughter here for birthday and almost had a heart attack when I saw the prices on all of the items. I was so happy I was able to convince her to settle for a keychain which was still $15. I'm all about supporting businesses but would def recommend going online for hello kitty products. Customer service wasn't bad. They didn't greet us but were amazing to my daughter when they found it was her birthday. Best part of the visit! read more

BEWARE OF RESEALED BLIND BOXES! ALL SALES FINAL! No returns and exchanges. I ordered two Hello Kitty Fruity Paradise blind boxes for pick up. When we finally got home to unbox them, my toy was wrapped in BLUE GIFT WRAP and my daughter's toy was inside a sealed bag. The bottom of my blind box looked tampered compared to my daughter's box. The fun part of unboxing is opening the bags to reveal the toy. I am very disappointed in this store. They are deceitful. I will no longer will shop here. read more

I had NO IDEA there was even a Sanrio shop in this plaza until I was zooming in on Google maps to see what was in the area when there was an event going on nearby. It definitely is not as cramped and claustrophobic as the MPK Sanrio and has a good variety of character goods and items. They have the big popular ones that we all love and are familiar with: HK, Kuromi, Cinnamaroll, Pompompurin, My Melody, etc. But they also have the classics like Badtz Maru, Tuxedo Sam, Pekkle, Pochaco, etc. and other characters like Cogimyun, Kirimi-chan, Pickles the Frog, Gudetama, etc. They also had the jirai-kei/Gothic lolita looking MeloKuro goods here and I know those have been super popular lately. It seems that the back of the shop was once the cashier but that 1/4 of the shop was being set up/inventory of items going on there so unsure what it's gonna look like after. They do have a lot of the newer items that I've seen from the Sanrio newsletter such as the Matcha series and the HK 50th anniversary goods. Solid Sanrio store. read more

Went in today with my daughter. They have a great selection of items. There is a little of everything. Franchisca helped us out , was very welcoming , patient and so helpful. The prices are expected but they have a clearance/ sale section with lots of cute stuff. This is out favorite Sanrio Shop. We will be back soon ! read more

All these 5 and 4 star reviews just talk about how the merchandise is cute and decorated which leaves out the overall service and management. I came several times and spent more than $100 by now but when I came back yesterday around 3-4p there was another new person and a "now hiring" sign still up which was a red flag already. The service is very unwelcoming having the workers breathe down your neck and follow you like you're going to steal something along with no greeting walking in. At least wear a presentable uniform/outfit like the girls that were there before instead of looking like you just woke up and smeared your makeup if your going to be unhappy working at Sanrio where stuff is supposed to be positive and happy. Not only that my 10% off coupon from my first visit was rejected without at-least honoring a stamp on the card they also gave me. That coupon was less than a year old that I got from their location when I purchased a purse but finally remembered to bring it with me yesterday; it's clearly written on the coupon which location it's valid and doesn't have an expiration; yet they acted like it's fraudulent and were stating that they never seen it before supposedly and the manager doesn't know about it. I'm guessing the manager is also the person who was hiding out in the back that day staring at people so rudely. I've been here at-least 5 times, I was quite unhappy with the experience after each visit overtime coming here because it used to be friendlier when some people would ask me if I needed help and pointed out sales and gave me a free pin with my purchase. Now it is just straight up stingy and wack. Seriously, it's just 10% off! How petty is that. It's not like they don't make enough money with the marked up prices they have there or like I'm shamelessly coming in here with some fake 50% print out. Absolutely ridiculous behavior. The little fake apology that girl uttered as she almost tripped over her own foot for rejecting the coupon just made me roll my eyes as I walked out with probably the last thing I'll ever purchase from there again. I've had my first visit here at the Sanrio Monrovia store yesterday afternoon and the experience was absolutely lovely . The associate Samantha greeted me and walked me through the store briefly, asked if she can be help me find anything I'm looking for...that was so sweet and thoughtful. Then Samenrha introduced to me the special of the day ...I was very excited to be the shoppers after her warm inviting and welcoming greetings, I've found lots of accessories and light casual & cute jewelry that I can totally use for fun occasions. I'm a Hello Kitty fan ...and I do adore the necklaces and matching earrings, bracelets they have in this store. Perfect Little Gifts! I came here on a Monday around noon. Needed little gifts for my niece and nephew. There are so many choices it is very hard to decide. Samantha took her time showing me many items that were all great suggestions. She was very pleasant and helpful. I honestly could spend hours in here just browsing. This Sanrio store can be found in the same plaza as Vons Pavillions, in a hidden corner, two doors down to TK Cafe (which is next door to Dog Zone). I have only been to this store twice (the other times I was in this plaza, the store was closed since I came during their off hours). The first time I came, I was greeted by an employee behind the counter. I told her I was browsing and had mentioned about every time I would come over here, it would be closed. I remember seeing Hello Kitty gold Lunar New Year envelopes (this was towards the end of last year) up by the front of the register but did not purchase any and left empty handed. The employee was sweet that she gave me a coupon to allow for either for $5 off a $50 purchase or 10% off one item in the store. Fast forward to about 1.5 week before the Lunar New Year that just past, I came back to the store and decide that I wanted to purchase the Hello Kitty envelops for the new year for a friend who is really into Hello Kitty. Unfortunately the gold envelopes that I had seen months before were all gone (the employee at the register, another one from my first visit) had said people have been calling about these envelopes and coming in to purchase them. Luckily there were still these pink Hello Kitty envelopes and so I ended up purchasing one packet ($4.95 prior to tax for 5 envelopes), using my 10% discount coupon that I had gotten from my first visit. This store itself has a lot of cute Hello Kitty things that one could want (if you are a fan. I liked Hello Kitty when I was a kid but I'm not one of those obsessed Hello Kitty people so I don't need to buy these items). There are also plenty of other Sanrio character items as well if you are all Hello Kitty- ied out. There is a small section of sales items by the register (but still kind of pricey) and also mystery gift bags that you can purchase by the register. These gift bags are enclosed in a Sanrio bag in which you cannot see what is inside and is final sale (but the fun is hoping you will get something great inside). This store itself is rather small but truly is packed with a lot of Sanrio stuff that any fan will love. Overall, a friendly shopping experience. read more

A lot of variety on Sanrio's characters and products from stationary and pushes to clothing and accessories. This is a review of Sanrio Monrovia's online order and shipping. I am an out-of-state customer. A timeline between placement of my initial order and delivery of my order: Day One: Order placed and confirmed by email. Day Two: Order amended--great customer service! Six Days (or 4 business days) Later: Order shipped. Two Days After That: Order received. Online shopping experience: Five Stars. Overall, my first experience shopping with Sanrio Monrovia was great! I really appreciated their prompt and accommodating response to amend my order to include the Kuromi bead cushion, which I saw after I had placed my initial order. Shipping experience: 4 Stars. I really made use of their FREE SHIPPING offer, which you're eligible for if you spend over $150! There were some semi fragile things in my order (e.g., the Hello Kitty globe light and the acrylic containers). I'm glad they packed my items with TLC and bubble wrap to ensure safe delivery! Everything arrived in excellent condition. Only the pink Hello Kitty chest was a little damaged--the lid doesn't close completely. One corner keeps popping up, so the lid is always ajar. It appears to be a manufacturer's defect, as opposed to damage sustained in transit. Room for improvement: - It's minor. They should update their shipping policy to include more time for processing. My order took 3 business days to process, counting from the day after I amended my order. But their shipping policy says orders are processed within 1-2 business days and shipped on the next available day, based on the carrier. They're probably very busy managing in-person and online sales, so this small tweak will eliminate customers from wondering, "when will my order ship?" - Also, a closer inspection of goods for online orders will go a long way to preventing the shipment of defective products. If a customer is in-store, they can inspect the product prior to purchasing. Online customers are trusting the vendor to do this inspection on their behalf. If an in-person customer would reject a product with a defect, then it's safe to assume an online customer would not want the defective product. Or, if it's a small defect, send an email to the customer to notify them of the defect and offer to either strike the item from the order or offer a discount for the defective product. In future, I hope Sanrio Monrovia inspects products more closely prior to shipping them. Overall, though, I had a great first-time shopping experience with Sanrio Monrovia. Hello Kitty!!! How did James L. know that I would like this store? Out of the blue, he messaged me and told me about this new shop! I bookmarked it, found it, and enjoyed it immensely!!! The workers were so sweet, welcoming, and friendly! This Sanrio store is Hot and New! It's so clean, well organized, and cheerful! There are tote bags, jewelry, luggage, wallets, lanyards, chopsticks, pencils, pens, blankets, coin purses, and more! I HAD TO get something, but it didn't add up to $10 for an Easter Egg with a surprise in it! So, I found a Ramune drink... I had never had one before! It helped me meet my $10 goal, so I opened an egg and won a Free Gift! Yay! The Ramune drink was fun! We (Alana, the 2 store clerks, and I) all didn't know how to open it, so we asked a little girl customer and she showed us how! LOL! After removing the cellophane, take the cap apart (remove the opener from the cylinder), then, after pressing the opener down, hold it in place for 5 seconds to prevent overflow of the fizzy bubbles! Before we used to love coming to this cute little Sanrio store to pick up gifts and stuff for kids. That's until our recent experience. We grabbed at least 20+ items over $200 and spent at least half of an hour in there. They had two young ladies working, but neither offered assistance. Not even "can I take your items or would you like a basket?" When we cashed out, our stamp card was turned down to be stamped and no explanation given. No bags offered even when asked so we had to hand carried our items out to the car. When called back to complain, all we got was a meaningless apology. I didn't realize I called minutes prior to closing. The staff was helpful without attitude in sending me my confirmation order number and shipping number. We went to the Grand opening for this store and it was so adorable! They had a game & tons of merchandise for the Hello Kitty fan. Of course, like many Sanrio stores, there aren't many Keroppi stuff. But, I understand that he's not getting enough love in general but he'll always be my favorite. I bought a purse for myself and a wallet for my niece. They had a sale for travel merchandise. 20% off. They even had Hello Kitty show up for a photo op! I was so happy! Service: great owners. I've seen the owners at previous HK events and they've always been so nice! We came for the Hello Kitty grand opening today (3/3/2018). The store is super cute and tucked away in the right corner next to a Hawaiian BBQ place and a kids painting place. The store is decorated very cutely and there was a section for each character (or theme of Hello Kitty). I liked the travel/luggage section! The Tokie Dokie section was super cute too. There's even a section of snacks and food themed products in the back! It's so nice to have a Sanrio location outside of a mall! Parking will definitely be easier! read more

i've purchased both in-store and online from this sanrio, and it's always an amazing experience! all my sisters and i have grown up in sanrio stores (my oldest sister is in her 30's!) so Sanrio has been near and dear to my family for decades. so many have closed, including our personal favorite, the location in Monterey Park, and it's heartbreaking! i'm so glad to have found this location!! the employees are so nice and attentive, and the shipping is very fast. my online order arrived within the week!! the in-store COVID protocols have also been great, very mindful and clean while also being customer-friendly. In other words, they are open for customers, period! Shopping in-store at Sanrio is a completely different experience from online, it makes the purchase 1000x better when ur surrounded by cute things and happiness. huge serotonin boost! it's very clear that the owners of this location truly understand what Sanrio is and try their best to give their customers the kind, welcoming Sanrio experience the brand is known for. please never shut down, Sanrio Monrovia, you are lighting up so many hearts and spreading so much happiness! p.s. if you are between this location and the Sanrio in the Santa Anita Mall, pick this one. If only I can give 0 stars comparing this store to other sanrio stores. Workers are extremely rude. The two females workers closing july 18th were speaking in Spanish, which isn't the issue, they were talking about telling us to leave and lying about when they close. They also continued to laugh and chuckle while ringing us up. I understand we were there 20 minutes before close, but that doesn't excuse the horrible ambiance created by the employees. I love this little Sanrio store. It's cute and in a nice plaza. The co-workers are ALWAYS so friendly. I actually like this one better than the one in the Santa Anita mall. Their prices are way better and although it's not as big as the one in the mall, I love this place because I only shop for Hello Kitty stuff, not the other Sanrio characters tbh. So if you're looking for a gift for someone or just want to look for cute hello kitty stuff then this is definitely your store. I always leave with something cute. I recently bought a hello kitty cell phone/pencil holder at the Monrovia store and when i went to the mall yesterday I saw that the Santa Anita store only had the pencil holder (without the cell phone holder) and it was way more expensive! Today is the grand opening for this store! The owners moved here from another location. We got to meet them and they are super nice! Since today is the grand opening they are being super generous. They gave out Hello Kitty paper crowns, various Sanrio stickers, and Sanrio balloons. And Hello Kitty herself graced us with her presence! She is the cutest and sweetest! The store is located in the southwest corner of the large Vons plaza on the corner of Foothill and Myrtle. Plenty of street parking and there are several restaurants that you can visit either before or after your shopping trip! read more
