The owner Maddie Romo graciously donated 10% of the evenings sales to PH. We were treated to wine while we shopped and nibbles of some of the store's specialty gourmet products. This place is adorable! They carry a wide assortment of goods - clothing, soaps, books, jewelry, cooking supplies, kitchenware, barware, trinkets.... There is something for everyone here. While browsing through all their wonderful selections I was thrilled when I came across Southern Belle Jalapeño Cranberry Sauce & Jumpin' Jack BBQ Sauce. My friend makes them, so I had to take a picture to send to her. There were so many cute things in the store that I wanted for myself. It was hard for me to maintain self-control and just stick to my holiday shopping list. Maddie was so delightful as was the other gal that worked there. They were both friendly, cheerful, and helpful. Next time I need a unique gift or want to treat myself to something fun I'll be coming here. Tip: There are a number of cool shops and restaurants in the area so make a day out of it and explore. There is free street parking and in a lot behind the shops.

Yau, originally from HK, has an extensive background and experience in artistic ceramics and glass. Given my genuine curiosity and interest in pottery, I asked him questions on his beautiful ceramic work. Staff was affable, knowledgeable and professional. Prices seem fair but depends on the design. Having seen his work just walking by, and small run-ins with his work at fairs and local restaurants, I decided to approach him with a near-impossible request -- I am the youngest of 8, and my father passed away in 2021. He drank coffee from the same mug every morning for over 40 years, but only one of us was able to take home that piece of him. It was a unique style, as all pottery is, so I've been sitting on this project for a few years. Yao was not only up to the challenge, but we discussed timeline (not important; I said they'd be ready when they're ready as long as it's by Christmas) and agreed that he would give it a try! Several weeks later, he let me know that he was still working but had finally nailed the unique shape. Several weeks later then, he let me know that he has finished them, but would like to keep trying because the unique (40+ year old glaze) was difficult to replicate and he'd like to try again. Three batches of eight later, Yao produced some of the most beautiful mugs I could have imagined. My family is so grateful, and I can say with full confidence that I will recommend One Cup Studio as long as Sierra Madre is lucky enough to have such a wonderful shop!! We've got a few of his original pieces in our home; his bud vases are precious and his bowls and tea cups are so pretty - but I will be forever grateful for the best Christmas gift I've ever pulled off - and I couldn't have done it without Yao's care and mastery!!!

Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced…read more Before I paid, the salesperson specifically warned me that tiles from different production batches would have different colors. Because of that, I made it crystal clear that I wanted ALL of my tiles from the SAME batch. I was promised that would not be a problem. After my contractor finished installing and cleaning the floor, we immediately noticed an obvious color difference across the floor. At first glance it may not be obvious, but once you see it, you can't unsee it. A brand-new floor should NEVER look like this. I checked every box myself and discovered that about two-thirds of my order was Batch 1M21, while the rest was Batch 1M35. The store literally mixed two different batches together after promising they wouldn't. The most outrageous part? The correct batch (1M35) is NOT out of stock. They still have more than 140 pieces available. They simply gave me the wrong batch. When I went back to the store expecting them to fix THEIR mistake, the manager refused to take any responsibility. Instead, he told me I had to: * Buy replacement tiles again with only a 20% discount * Pay the transfer fee * Pay the shipping costs * Pay any other related expenses * Contact corporate myself Are you serious? If you truly believe your store did nothing wrong, why offer me a 20% discount in the first place? That tells me you know a mistake was made--you just don't want to take responsibility for it. I paid for matching tiles because your employee promised matching tiles. Your store mixed the batches, not me. Yet somehow I'm expected to pay thousands more to fix YOUR mistake? That is beyond unacceptable. Now I'm left with a brand-new floor that has visible color variation throughout my home because of the store's negligence. Replacing it would mean tearing out a newly installed floor, buying new materials, and paying labor all over again--simply because the store failed to provide what they promised. I would never recommend buying tile from this store. If they make a mistake, don't expect them to stand behind their product or take responsibility. Save yourself the stress, time, and money, and shop somewhere else.
